I swear on my life and body and soul that I have seen this picture of arin pointing at the bean in Chicago before and I cannot find it anywhere, I am visiting there soon and would love to recreate it, if someone could link me the picture that would be amazing because I am stumped I’ve convinced myself it just doesn’t exist at this point lmao
I went on a trip to Chicago from Houston a few weeks ago. I was in Chicago for a week, and went there a couple of times. Interesting place. For us people coming over from Houston, areas like Devon street feel really unique. I almost felt like a villager visiting the big city. Houston has a few desi areas, but nothing like Devon street. There is the Hilcroft street area, but it's just two blocks of shopping centers. Have to have a car to get there, and pedestrian traffic is quite low. There are apartments around that area but seems like an area where people leave as soon as they can afford a better place, usually Sugarland or Katy.
I am curious, what is *really* going on at Devon street? Behind the busy restaurants, 24/7 desi grocery stores, and the people chilling on the street corners till late night, there are probably multiple stories which we don't see.
I still have the Ingress Key for when I last visited Chicago. I put screenshots of all the submitted wayfarer pictures for "the bean" portal in a video. There are several dozen!
