A list of puns related to "Burton Lane"
June 9th is a special day. 6/9, 6-9 or 69, is a number near and dear to my heart. Itβs a versatile number. It can be a birthday. It can be a jersey number. It can be a draft spot. 1987β¦what a time to be alive (I was alive). That season gave us something very unique, very special. The Super Bowl winner was β who knows, who cares? Who was the MVP? don't know, don't care. What did MY favorite team do that yearβ¦well, they had arguably their best season ever, they accomplished a VERY unique record of 6-9. This 15-game strike-shortened season gave us the silver lining of all silver linings, 6-9 records. Here are the three greatest seasons in NFL history:
1987 New York Giants 6-9 Two strike-replacement QBs helped make this happen as Mike Busch and Jim Crocicchia combined to go 0-2 to start the season. Phil Simms and Jeff Rutledge closed it out by combining to go 6-7. Lawrence Taylor and

Go post NSFW jokes somewhere else. If I can't tell my kids this joke, then it is not a DAD JOKE.
If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.
Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???
Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.
Thank you,
A Dad.

The list below is copiedΒΉ from a Word Perfect 5.1 file last modified in the mid-1990s, a few months after my birth. My mother spent considerable time researching names per family origins, so the majority of the list is likely the fruit of that labor, with a minority of names thrown in courtesy of my father.
The name selection & culling process began with each parent compiling personal lists of viable names; then, the lists were cross-checked for names they had in common. At the same time, certain names were vetoed. Names vetoed for me included:
Mom's priorities were avoiding names at high risk for cruel nickname derivations, and names at high risk for mispronunciation. For example, though she thought my (Greek Cypriot) paternal grandmother's name was beautiful, she expected Americans would mispronounce the second part as 'filly' and nickname me as such.
Ruling out both grandmothers' names for me meant not adhering to Greek naming conventions. They made up for this with my younger brother; so much for all the research into boy's names). I do want to point out that people have certainly mispronounced my surname throughout my life (+ subjected both it and my first name to misspellings), but ah well, so it goes.
ΒΉ I've made minor formatting adjustments for convenience's sake and added gender headings, but otherwise haven't changed the contentβtypos left in!

Well, toucan play at that game.
Roush Racing sat atop the the NASCAR world for the middle of the 2000's.
Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch scored a pair of championships for the Cat in the Hat, while Mark Martin, Kenseth, Greg Biffle, and Carl Edwards each scored a championship runner-up during the teams utter dominance from 2002-2008.
And while there was a falloff in the team's performance from 2009 through 2014, the team was still producing solid seasons and wins, and Carl Edwards even tied for the 2011 championship, and only losing it by virtue of the tiebreaker.
But since the departures of Kenseth, Edwards, and Biffle the once mighty team has became a shell of it's former self.
This begs the question of what happened to Roush?
To understand why and how Roush fell off it's important to look back at the history of Jack Roush's NASCAR Cup Series program.
Martin was the teams inaugural driver, being pulled from the brink of irrelevancy to losing a NASCAR Cup Series championship on a technicality.
After the 1991 season Roush formed a second team with Wally Dallenbach, who much like Roush was one of the top names in the sports car racing world and was looking to now conquer stock car racing.
While Martin was a championship contender in 1992 and 1993 winning seven races, Dallenbach was significantly off Martin's pace posting just two top-5's and two sub-20th place points finishes in the two seasons.
After 1993 Dallenbach was replaced by Ted Musgrave in the #16, who while improving the performance of the #16 to 13th and 7th in the 1994 and 1995 standings, Martin was second and fourth those years winning six races.
For the 1996 season Roush expanded once again, adding Jeff Burton and sponsor Exide Batteries to the #99 Ford. All three cars would go winless in 1996, with Martin still posting a fifth place points finish. Burton came home 13th in the final standings despite posting a DNQ, while Musgrave fell to 16th.
1997 would be a return to form for Roush as Martin finished third in points with four wins and less than 30 points back of champion Jeff Gordon. Jeff Burton also enjoyed the breakout season of his career as he finished fourth in points with three wins. Musgrave even came up to 12th in the final standings, and spent much of the season hovering around the low top-10 in points.
Halfway through 1997 Roush absorbed the failing #97 John Deere Pontiac owned by Greg Pollex, with driver Chad Little and sponsor John Deere also coming aboard the now fourth Roush entry.
Also, during the 1
... keep reading on reddit β‘In the 1990's and the early 2000's, several Superman projects went into development but ultimately never got made. It was like the Man of Steel was a cursed character. Despite his various abilities, the one thing he didn't have the power to avoid was the dreaded Hollywood development hell and cancellation list.
Kevin Smith, Tim Burton, JJ Abrams, McG and Brett Ratner all tried and failed to bring Superman back to the silver screen. Fans patiently waited as the Batman series became an embarrassment and the X-Men and Spider-Man franchises took center stage.
Finally in 2006 the curse seemingly came to an end with Bryan Singer's Superman Returns. This movie starred Brandon Routh as Superman, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, and Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane. It served as a legacy sequel to the Richard Donner films (thankfully ignoring the third and fourth films) and attempted to replicate that charm of the late 70's and early 80's classics.
The movie itself was only decent. It wasn't terrible, but Bosworth was pretty bad as Lois Lane, some ideas such as Jason being Superman's son weren't explored enough and it wasn't the most well-paced movie. It also didnt make as big of a profit as Warner wanted as the box office was dominated that summer by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
A sequel was still intended for release in 2009 but was delayed due to Bryan Singer producing Trick R Treat and directing Valkyrie. In the end, Warner decided to reboot with Man of Steel in 2013 and Singer went back to the X-Men franchise before accusations against him basically ruined him and Kevin Spacey's careers forever. But what if a sequel did get made?
What if Superman Returns was a bigger hit at the box office and Singer decided to stick with that instead of returning to Marvel?
In 2010, Superman Returns 2 is released (obviously not called that but whatever). It sees Brandon Routh return as Superman and likely explores his relationship to his now 9 year old son Jason. Kevin Spacey would return as Lex Luthor and would somehow escape from his island. Maybe with help from Brainiac who was intended to be the villain.
I believe the criticisms of the first movie would get to Bryan Singer, who is determined to make this a better film. The movie is presumably received better by critics and a third film is greenlit with a 2013 release date.

So I have a bit of a weird theory about the Sasha Calle Supergirl, but hear me out first.
In the set photos we have seen images of Sasha Calle Supergirl in the Laura Kent Lane suit. Many people are saying this is to differentiate this Supergirl from the CW Kara Zor El, but the CW flash looks sort of similar to the DCEU flash and even more so now that the DCEU flash is getting a slimmer brighter suit. In addition, the CW Superman now more than ever looks extremely similar to the DCEU Cavill superman so this doesn't really add up for me.
The new ta Neishi Coates and JJ abrams Superman is gonna be some more obscure iteration of Superman and is reportedly more being looked towards as a period piece, rather than a cinematic universe entry. The Supergirl in The Flash 2022 is based on an extremely obscure Supergirl iteration and now that theyres gonna be a reported new Supergirl movie, I have a feeling they're gonna use one who is more in line with the Supergirl the majority of the world is familiar with, even if she has black hair. You can say: well Momoa looks very different from the comics Aquaman, but back then, there were no multiverse plans announced to the public. Now that the flash is an extremely multiverse heavy movie, one cpild speculate and say that this Supergirl is from another universe.
I'm not familiar with the Laura Kent Lane lore, but I'm assuming she's Clark Kent and Lois Laneβs kid, and so far, even though ZSJL is considered non Canon to the larger dceu, the DCEU Superman is probably considered late 30βs to early 40βs. Sasha Calle is 25 as of now and if she was the DCEU Superman's kid, Cavill would have to had her at around 15 which would not make sense. Now, she could just be supermans daughter from some alternate universe. There are a couple of options. The most convincing to me is that she is the Supergirl from the Burtonverse. Specifically Nick Cage supermans kid which I will get into in a second. Think about it. The set photos we have seen thus far are in London which is supposed to be central city. We see pictures of gal Gadot Wonder woman on a bus leaving us to believe we are in the main dceu. We then see Keaton Batman in the same part of the city leaving us to believe we're in the 89 universe, and then we see Sasha Calle Supergirl out to the side. I think this means either weβre in the main dceu earth and Keaton is in it with us, or weβre in the central city of both the 89 universe and the main dceu earth, but they

Keep in mind, my son is 4 years old, so everything is an original to him.
I had to work late into the evening yesterday, and he was just going to bed when I got home. I had left home for the office nearly 14 hours prior, had a long day, lots of meetings, traffic, etc.
When I walked through the door, I was exhausted, run down, and starving. My wife hugged me and asked how my day was, and I replied, "Done. It was a good day, but has got me exhausted. I just want to grab a bite and go to bed. I'm hungry."
From my son's bedroom, I hear him shout, "Hi Hungry! Nice to meet you!"
Not only did it make me laugh, but I completely forgot about how hungry and tired I was. I went to his bedroom, and we laughed together about it. It was exactly what I needed.
Edit: Thanks for all the awards, kind strangers! I'll let my son know y'all enjoyed his joke too!
There are 29 players on the New York Giantsβ roster who werenβt on the team at the end of last season. Additionally, there are plenty of returning players poised to have different roles or facing big questions entering the season.
To give a snapshot of where things stand, I thought it would be fun to take a look at each player on the roster. Some of these entries will provide thoughtful analysis, others will be lighthearted and some will make me question why I took on this task.
Hopefully you learn something from this exercise. I understand itβs a lot to digest, so I suggest bookmarking this and perusing it at your leisure. You never know when youβll be struck by a burning desire to learn something about Cole Hikutini or Brett Heggie.
β’ QB Daniel Jones: Everyone in the Giantsβ organization raves about Jonesβ leadership and work ethic. There is absolutely no questioning if he has the intangibles to be a franchise quarterback. But if intangibles were all it took to be a franchise quarterback, Davis Webb would have been Eli Manningβs successor. Jones has obviously proven more than Webb on the field, but there are still plenty of questions about the sixth pick in the 2019 draft entering his third season. Jones has done everything possible off the field to have a breakout season. But now he needs to produce on the field or all the behind-the-scenes work will be irrelevant.
β’ QB Mike Glennon: The Giants chose to sign Glennon to a one-year contract with a $1.4 million cap hit over re-signing Colt McCoy, who landed in Arizona on a one-year contract with a $987,500 cap hit. McCoy was a solid veteran presence who started the Giantsβ biggest win last season, but clearly the team sees Glennon, who has a stronger arm, as an upgrade.
β’ QB Clayton Thorson: Thorson is an ideal No. 3 quarterback that the Giants can stash on the practice squad again. This will be his third season with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, so he could step in as the backup in a pinch.
β’ RB Saquon Barkley: All signs point to the Giants and Barkley taking a very conservative approach in his return from a torn ACL. Thatβs understandable for Barkley since he still

That was the punchline
I woke up today not thinking that our King of TEs was about to be dethroned, but sadly that's the case.
This new Will Shields is a men among boys when it comes to blocking and if you run any pistol with the TE in the backfield, or strong formations he's a must have. Obviously I have just a small sample size of play with him, but so far he's been a nightmare as a lead blocker and a lot of fun to pass to on drag routes especially because literally no one will expect it and now you have a (slow) 315lb TE running at you.
