I just want to let y’all know that there was a car theft at the Brier Creek shopping center. Some guy watched this little old woman christmas shop throughout the entire shopping center, and when she was outside of Home Goods he ran up and stole her car keys out of her pocket and her phone, ran to her car, and drove off…..

(I was literally there as it was happening and thought it was fake at first because it was just like ???? and this little old woman was just sobbing and screaming in the parking lot so I was like huh maybe this is legit 💀😕)

And people were trying to comfort her and say “He won’t get far!!” and she was just sobbing saying she just got a full tank of gas.

Our boys in blue came and did what Raleigh PD normally does which was nothing 😕

Idk if this will get taken down but BE CAREFUL OUT THERE. mfs are stealing car keys out of pockets around here…. Happy Holidays though 😭😭😭😭

EDIT: why would I lie about this… I only posted it on reddit because I couldn’t find the accident report anywhere online. I searched Brier Creek on different apps and scanners and nothing. So maybe it was fake! but also there was a 70 year old woman sobbing and screaming that she had no way of getting home, and there were two police cars. The blotter I used said the Brier Creek area at the same time but didn’t specify what crime. I’m sorry I wanted to let the community know of possible horseshit happening around here.

And speaking of community, what tf kind of community is this that we can’t talk about our true feelings of the police without grown adults crying in the comments that it’s not fair 😕 (i’m using emojis again so all the old people in the comments crying that i’m using them can have a heart attack already, how dare she use hieroglyphics I cannot understand her 💀)

The police are supposed to protect and serve our community. But that same community will jump down your throat for talking ill of their heroes!!

If grown adults cannot talk about how shitty the police are without y’all crying in the comments like they personally insulted your entire family tree, then what good is a community?

I will be attending the University of Michigan for dental school this upcoming year, and I have been looking at reasonable single apartment housing options (studio/single), ideally near the medical campus if at all possible. I was considering Green Brier and potentially Huron Towers (though cost seems a bit higher at the latter). Has anyone here lived in Green Brier or Huron Towers, and would they recommend them? If not, are there any other apartments/housing options that I should consider? It seems like all of the places I have looked at have reviews ranging from positive to incredibly negative, so I don't know what to believe. I'm also not living in Michigan right now, so unfortunately, I am unable to search in person. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts!

I finally read The Murder of Tutankhamen in 2019 and I just saw a TikTok that showed his mummy getting removed from his coffin so it sparked my brain back to this book.

Has Dr Brier commented on or walked back the thesis of this book at all? I saw a post here that he was holding a talk on it in 2014, but nothing about my question to clue me in.

This is my first time posting on this sub, but I feel this is a bit important. I work at the McDonald's at Brier Creek Parkway. I've been there for a bit and have picked up on a pretty bad problem. That McDonald's, and possibly more, have a serious bug problem.

I'm not just talking about the common fly, but things like roaches and large flying bugs.

I'll give a few examples of things that have happened to me over the past month:

1. A cockroach was crawling inside the machine we use to create frappes, smoothies, and slushies. This was the most alarming thing I saw.

2. A giant flying cockroach was near the soda, coffee, and frappe machine. It was never killed and is probably still in the restaurant.

3. Many bugs tend to stick around the soda machine we use to fill drive-thru orders. I've spotted on numerous occasions fly corpses inside cups or on the lids of cups. I always pour these drinks out whenever I spot them, but I can't guarantee others working there will do the same.

4. While sweeping the lobby, I've spotted 3 dead cockroaches, primarily around the soda machine in the lobby.

Those are the most alarming things I've seen, and thus the most important to communicate to the public. If you do go to the McDonald's at Brier Creek, please just get a Tea with no ice, a bottle of water, or an apple juice. Those are the only drink items I can assure you are cleaned and/or replaced hourly.

This was not made to scare, this was made to inform. I thank you if you have read this far and if you have further questions feel free to ask.

So, I'm getting into bushcraft again. I'm trying to get my edible plant skills better, reading books and looking at pictures to identify the plant helps me know what to research. I noticed that I have a huge patch of 'round leaf green brier'. Doing my research, it cooks like asparagus and spinach, but that's it! No explanation on young or mature or what parts or anything!!!

So can anyone explain it to me like I'm 5 years old, what's edible on the plant and how to prepare it.

*New title: Maiden of Thorns

Aside from Areia being a damage powerhouse, I really loved her character after reading through her cutscenes. It inspired me to write my first ever fan fic hahaha. I wrote this as though I was writing an event revolving around Areia. I wanted to share it and thought this was a good place to post it. Hope you enjoy this intro and lmk what you guys think (both the good and bad):

The moon was high amongst the misty clouds and Areia, Sariel, and the Navigator were in the barroom chatting in leisure while Keating rehearsed in the background and Taki snored at the bar table.

Navigator: … And that’s why, Areia, you should NEVER learn how to cook from Vice. Never.

Areia: Really? But she is so kind to me.

Navigator: She is! But have you ever tasted her cooking!?

Areia: Yes... But she is very kind to me.

Navigator: Yeah, I get what you mean. I always end up eating everything.

Sariel: So, Navigator, when are you going to let me borrow 33,231,413 Nightium?

Navigator: Were you sitting there all this time so you can borrow money from me?

Sariel: Yes. But also, I was recording your vindictive raving as you gossiped about Vice. I will be showing this to her if you do not give me my 33,231,413 Nightium.

Navigator: What!?

Jane: Areia.

Navigator: Ah! Where’d you come from Jane.

Jane: I was right behind you. Gathering information as you gossiped about Vice.

Navigator: I was not gossiping!
