A list of puns related to "Brachialis Muscle"
Does the brachialis muscle get enough indirect work from typical bicep curling and rowing exercises or do I need to add hammer curls and such in order to see any real growth?
Thanks!
Apart from going to a climbing gym and train in order to become a good climber, is there something specific I can do to get shredded, veiny arms without being a true climber?
I started by the assumption (my personal one) that climbers do have amazing built arms/forearms. Of course they're not the only ones and not all the climbers may do, but pretty much alle the strongest climbers have arms that look so dramatic and have huge , full ,veiny forearms. They may not have the triceps size of a calistenics athlete or a bodybuilder but they look great in all the other aspects. Now I wonder, how do they get those arms? by climbing of course, but anathomically speaking, I think the reasons could be:
I've been doing the RR for about a month now. I live in a small flat, and while there are surfaces I can use for incline pushups, the edges aren't very comfortable under my hands and I get wrist pain, despite making sure to do the wrist warmup every time. I realised I am much more comfortable performing incline pushups with rings hanging in my doorframe. I'm confident that I'm keeping my shoulders and elbows in a good position throughout the motion and it puts a lot less pressure through my wrists. I'm now thinking I should carry on using rings for pushups and slowly decrease the incline as I progress.
Are there downsides to progressing pushups entirely using rings instead of static surfaces? They seem to be the most widely recommended tool for rows, but the RR doesn't recommend using rings until after diamond pushups (clearly these will be a lot closer to the ground than the stage I'm at).
Since there are so many knowledgeable people about bodyweight traning and specifically more advanced bodyweight training here, I wanted to take this opportunity to ask the question why does the brachialis and the biceps get devloped when doing straight arm exercises such as back levers, plancheΒ΄s, RTO push ups and Iron Crosses?
I understand that the brachialis and the biceps do get developed when doing these type of advanced bodyweight exercises but I dont really understand that from a muscle anatomy perspective.
Is it due to a stability component that they particiapate in or what is the reason that they actually get so developed in straight arm bodyweight exercises?
What anatomical reason requires them to get so developed from those type of advanced bodyweight exercises?
Really curious to hear what you guys have to say about it!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Hi!
I'm in med school and for studying anatomy, I use a note typ with multiple fields to learn structures such as nerves, arteries, muscles and so on.
Here is an example picture of a card for muscles:
https://preview.redd.it/xvu615qtwx081.png?width=1312&format=png&auto=webp&s=548a7623df34c2b38f92d556573b3f4cfba009b6
A card contains different fields, in case of a nerve or arteria the names for the card-fields would differ a bit, but the system remains the same. For each field a new card is automatically created, this reduced the time for creating new cards extremely and for me, it feels way more organized.
There is, however, one downside that I see in those kind of cards: When a specific field contains a lot of information (for instance: a nerv with lots of branches or a long course, where I want to memorize >10 facts), a cloze deletion field would be way better to use compared to a regular field, because the answer could be splitted up in mutliple clozes. That is more effecitve to learn, at least for me.
So my question is: Is there a way to create a note-type with different cloze-deletion fields? Or: Is it possible to create a note-type with both, cloze deletion AND "regular" fields?
The "perfect" card for me would look something like this, here an example:
Field 1 = "nerve" (type: regular): N. musculocutaneus
Field 2 = "root" (type: regular): C5-C7
Field 3 = "course (type: CLOZE):
- {{c1::lateral}} cord of Plexus brachialis
- pierces {{c2::coracobrachialis muscle}}
Field 4 = "motor function" (type: regular)
Field 5 = "sensory function" (type: regular)
Field 6 = "Extra" (type: CLOZE)
-> other questions connected to that nerve
Thank you for your help and if you have other, better ideas how to learn such structures with ideal cards: please let me know!
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat

Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

We told her she can lean on us for support. Although, we are going to have to change her driver's license, her height is going down by a foot. I don't want to go too far out on a limb here but it better not be a hack job.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

Hi, so I've been training for armwrestling for almost 0.5 years at home. Cuppin, rising, and pronation mainly. When I started, I quickly stopped doing any side pressure training, because it was killing my tendons so bad. A couple days ago I armwrestled with a couple of friends at the pub, and altough I won because my rising and pronation got a lot stronger recently, the next day my tendon (forearm, upper arm, and even shoulder) got so fcked, that I have to workout a lot lighter in this week. This feeling is not new, it's the same when I did side pressure training at home, and sometimes when I go extra hard on skullcrushers. Is there a way to strenghten the tendons? Or am I doomed in armwrestling? Cupping is my strongest move, but when I tried it with the guys, eventho my wrist didnt move, my side pressure couldnt hold them...
edit: I'm a small guy with a decent amount of muscle, my biceps are pretty strong. My wrist is however 6inch, and my hands are also very small.
Thanks
