A list of puns related to "Bologna Process"
I'm just worried a lot of employers will immediately dismiss a resume with just a 3 year degree.I'm open to getting my master's btw , but that would mean another 2 years in this dump.I'm not very ambitious, just any job that pays the bills without insane hours, ideally in the Netherlands or Scandinavia, but I'll even take fucking Poland.
Ignorant American here inquiring on development of education system in Europe. The following questions interest me.
(i). What is Bologna Process? (Effect on both Europe as a whole, and individual countries) (a). In terms of what is proposed, has been implemented. (b). How it has/or will be carried out in Europe.
(ii). People who approve of it, arguments for either the whole, or parts of the measure?
(iii). Critics of it, arguments against either the whole, or parts of the measure?
(iv). Relevant information not addressed in the question.
Danke schon, for those who would take time to answer these questions. My German teacher left the continent before the whole thing began, so she couldn't talk about it.
I posted the majority of this as a comment in response to another post, in another sub, and then decided it needs its own post as well. This experience was incredible, to me.
I was applying to a part time remote chat gig that pays $11.50/hour just last night, to do in addition to my full time remote job for some extra money.
Every time I thought Iβd completed the app, more steps arose. They had little green check marks on each section completed, with like three sections at a time, and then BOOM, a new task list populated.
Before I quit the app, I made it far enough to complete
five fill in the blank style questions that required paragraphs-long responses to how youβd handle work situations
10 questions that required you search their mock-database to appropriately select pre-scripted answers to simulated customer emails/chats/complaints
a portion where you explained via email that an βorder had been delayed due to a severe blizzard on the east coastβ and that the customer βcould call the phone support line between 8a-8p M-F for more informationβ in TWO ways (a βcausal, friendlyβ answer and a βformal, more professionalβ answer)
an incredibly long typing test that required you get 100% accuracy and at least 70WPM (that had unlimited attempts)
a portion involving describing your relevant experience (in response to three questions about said experience) in three separate blank sections (βwhat skills do you have that make you a good fit?β; βwhat motivates you to do a good job?β; βwhat experience do you have that makes you well suited for this role?β)
AND a question asking βhow you display empathy to customersβ that you had to record and upload a voice response (using a provided website service) that was 60-90 seconds long for, with a note that youβd be judged on articulation, vocabulary, grammar, tone of voice and the answer itself (for a 100% chat role)
AFTER ALL OF THAT, which took me about 40 minutes, I was brought to the first of FIVE long sections of a multiple choice assessment. I stopped, at that point. No clue what would have come next.
All of that for $11.50/hour part time work, no benefits (due to being part time), AND having to use your own equipment (computer etc.) was absolutely insane, to me.
I wonder if anyone will even make it through that process.
I genuinely donβt know where these companies get off thinking that this bologna is acceptable for such low pay and a complete lack of any perks at all.
I canβt
... keep reading on reddit β‘Might be a stupid question. I know that research universities are recognized but I canβt find much information about applied science universities. I will probably get my masters as well, in pharm chem or drug discovery, maybe at Utrecht. Hopefully I am able to transfer. Also for chemistry, should I go to Han or HZ? I was thinking Han, since itβs closer to Amsterdam. But if HZ is better Iβd do it.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
With the help of u/Robert_Larsson suggestions, I've made a list with some of the most relevant researchers of this syndrome in the last 5-10 years (as of December, 2021).
Any suggestions are welcome, but it's better if we stick to researchers which still have either a long career ahead of them, or consolidated teams that will succeed them and continue their work.
Once we have a definite list, it would be a good idea to get in touch with these teams and find out how patients (those who want & are financially stable) can donate money for their research through a secure channel - please remember these guys are the closest in the world to finding out the actual causes of IBS.
Without further ado, this is the list, organized by research topics:
Visceral pain is the main feature of IBS, so basically all researchers in this list are investigating it, one way or another. However, some explore it more indirectly (looking at the immune system, microbiota, dietary treatments...) and others not only do that but also focus on the central/enteric nervous system itself, the ultimate source of visceral pain, trying to develop new therapeutic targets and treatment compounds as they go. I created a specific category for them, since their research is difficult to encapsulate in "just" one category, and their work does have an additional focus on the neurological dysfunctions that shape IBS pain.
β’ Stuart Brierley, Flinders University, Australia/ In a groundbreaking study, his team discovered the existence of pruritogenic receptors (receptors usually found in the skin, able to mediate pain/itch sensation) in the human gut back in 2019, and also described how these receptors were "sensitized" in IBS patients. They have made some sound findings in IBS, and are also studying spider venom as a possible source for a synthetic pain relieving drug. Definitely one of the strongest IBS research teams in the world. "Our group investigates the underlying causes of chronic visceral pain, and the development of new treatments. Using state of the art molecular, anatomical and functional approaches allows us to study mechanisms from the single cell through toΒ in vivoΒ and clinical studies".
You can find more information about their current projects here or in their Twitter account [@V

Heard they've been doing some shady business.
BamBOO!
Theyβre on standbi
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
Pilot on me!!
Christopher Walken
Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.
