I know that Aashiqui was highly influential in changing the 1990s Bollywood music. It started the era of musical chartbusters and gave the blockbuster start to Kumar Sanu, Nadeem-Shravan. Can people share their views about this?

Don't get me wrong. ARR, SEL Vishal Shekhar have given us some unforgettable songs but they all seem to be past their prime now.
Pritam is the only music director to have maintained the quality of their music for so long. From Life In a metro, dhoom, all the Emraan Hashmi hits, Love Aaj Kal (original), YJHD, ADHM, and even Tadap now has great songs.
Sure he used to copy tunes earlier but he mostly made better versions of them suited for bollywood tastes. Don't act like you didn't like it and didn't sing along. He is really underrated and I really hope the other music directors get back to their form.
I am tired of the bad quality songs being produced by the rest of the music directors in bollywood.
The new music directors like Amit Trivedi, Sachin Jigar are good but let's be honest, their best songs still aren't as good as Pritam's best. The best of bollywood music might sadly be behind us.

The music these days essentially comprises of remakes or remixes of earlier songs. I can't remember even a few original catchy songs that came out of bollywood in the past 3-4 years. Is this because of the general disinterest that the younger generation has in bollywood in the recent years? My friends and I, for one, are in our early twenties, and still prefer to jam to early 2000s-2010s songs, rather than playing any of the latest remake versions, or any song from a latest bollywood movie. Can't remember the last time we enjoyed a new bollywood movie either. There's nothing new or original anymore, not even in songs. Who started this trend of remakes and why is it not stopping? are we ever going to get actual proper bollywood dance music again or has that era ended forever?
