A list of puns related to "Big Ten Conference"
2014: Ohio State 59 Wisconsin 0

2016: Penn State 38 Wisconsin 31
2017: Ohio State 27 Wisconsin 21
2018: Ohio State 45 Northwestern 24

2021: Michigan 42 Iowa 3
EAST | Record |
---|---|
Ohio State | 8-0 |
Michigan | 7-1 |
It all comes down to The Game. Ohio State visits The Big House on Saturday, and whoever wins that game wins the East.
WEST | Record |
---|---|
Wisconsin | 6-2 |
Iowa | 6-2 |
Minnesota | 5-3 |
Purdue | 5-3 |
NOTE: Purdue can not win the West, but their game could impact who does.
If Wisconsin beats Minnesota, the Wisconsin Badgers win the West outright (if Iowa loses) or via head-to-head tiebraker tiebreaker (if Iowa wins).
If Iowa beats Nebraska and Wisconsin loses, the Iowa Hawkeyes win the West outright.
If Wisconsin and Iowa both lose and Purdue loses, there's a three-way tie atop the West between Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota. The Wisconsin Badgers would win the West via the second multi-team tiebreak: divisional record.
If Wisconsin and Iowa both lose and Purdue wins, there's a four-way tie atop the West between Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and Purdue. The Minnesota Golden Gophers would win the West, as Wisconsin and Minnesota would survive the first tiebreak (record amongst tied teams) and Minnesota would own the head-to-head.
Noticed that three specific power conferences seemed to be struggling in the early going.
Individual records:
Big East: 9-3 (.750)
SEC: 9-4 (.692)
Big 12: 4-2 (.667)
Pac-12 (.462)
Big Ten: 7-9 (.438)
ACC: 5-8 (.385)
Seems like this is major advantage for the SEC with only playing 8 conference games. My reasons are as followed;
SEC is getting more teams bowl eligible.. Playing 9 conference games means no matter what your conference adds 7 losses while the SEC pretty much adds 14 wins maybe 13 because of Vanderbilt.
SECβs tops teams have less opportunity to slip up by playing an extra conference game, which means more opportunities for playoffs and NY6 bowls
SEC will have more teams ranked when it is all said and done. Week 11 and 12, SEC teams play Prairie View, New Mexico State (2x), Sanford, South Alabama, Charleston Southern.. To name a few.. This allows their teams to remain in the top 25 improving strength of schedule on paper, while BIG kills their strength of schedule
I know playing 9 BIG games makes for better on air product.. But it should be considered since SEC doesnβt get any fallout for doing this while teams at the top in BIG get negative marks about wins/losses in the conference
Get this guy outta here

With no more non-conference games left for all Big Ten teams in the regular season, unless the Gods of Chaos somehow causes a Loser's Belt holder to play in a bowl game, the Loser's Belt will stay in the Big Ten throughout the remainder of the 2021-22 season & the 2022 offseason.
With the rumors around OU and Texas leaving for the SEC, it would seem like the Big 12 would probably fold. Do you guys think the Big 10 would try to add any of those teams? Or schools from different conferences?
