As one of ASEANs largest trade partners and with over 151 billion in foerign direct investment into ASEAN countries arriving from the UNited States, we would like to begin work on the next step of our economic relations. The United States of America would like to move to begin the work on signing a FTA between our state, such an agreement would benefit both our economies due to our large scale trade relations.
Below is a list of concession and requests by and from the united states
- The United States of America is willing to begin a phased withdrawal of subsidies for single crop rice farms within the united states of america. M: This would be especially relevant to Thailand where its a major domestic issue.
- Removal of Sanctions on the Burmese government along with referring to it as Myanmar in the future.
- strengthening of patent laws across the region to be comparable with US law
This is our initial position and we are open to further negotiations and specific details
