A list of puns related to "Aerial Refueling"
Been doing some mission editing lately and to me it appears that the AI can in excess of 15 mins to refuel. This is regardless of the type of setup or the receiver. I have tried KC-135s and AI B-52s, KC-130s and F-14As, and the KC-10 Mod with the EA-6B.
The B-52 I would have expected an average of 10-12 mins and about 5 to 10 mins with naval aircraft using the drogue. Maybe my calculations and timing is off and perhaps I'm not accounting for turbulence, wind, and the small micro disconnect/reconnects that the AI does?
Anyone else have information that can refute or confirm this?
Edit: For Typos and the note at the bottom.
Note: I didn't make this post as a veiled "grandstand" attempt or "soap box" about ED's problems or the issues with DCS's AI. I have been mission editing in LoMac and now DCS for years. Mission, scenario, and campaign creation is pretty much the only way I enjoy most flight or battlefield sims; when not engaged in online play. My goal here was to exchange information, see where my mistakes were, and learn of other's experiences. Thanks to those whom have taken the time to investigate and share their experiences.
Just dream with me brothers and sisters
Aviation lover and Rochesterian here! 20ish minutes ago I was taking a walk in Fairport when I looked up and saw a military plane being refueled by another plane in air. (My guess is a C-5 Galaxy being refueled by a KC-10 extender? Judging by the sizes anyway) Naturally I was stoked, as seeing this from the ground is extremely rare. Does anyone know where they could be coming from or going too? And why theyβd be refueling here of all places?
Edit: thanks to some help from another Redditor, it was most likely a KC-135 refueling a C-17 :)
