I have a mild chronic injury to my left achilles tendon such that an elevation gain of several thousand feet over a week leads to inflammation and I have to stop hiking. Medical science has little to offer. A recent review paper (https://sci-hubtw.hkvisa.net/https://www.nature.com/articles/s41572-020-00234-1) on the subject concludes there is only evidence to support one therapy, and that it is only moderately effective. Personal practice of gradual training doesn't seem to help much.
I'm curious is anyone else has practical experience getting past similar issues? I don't want to be confined to backpacking in flatland forever :/.
Any suggestion is welcome.
I ran a 50k in early September but throughout the whole training process I was dealing with sore Achilles Tendons (each one).
Since then I've walked back my running to where I'm hardly running at them moment. I've seen a running specialist and we sussed out why I was having those issues and we worked on fixing my form.
I think with my improved form I will prevent from having this issue in the future, but right tendon is still ever so slightly sore when I do certain things.
I am between two minds of just doing my PT exercise, not running for December and give it more rest time or try running lower mileage a few times a week because not running is killing me.
Please help if you've had similar experience!
I had workshops over the weekend and we did a lot of pointe work, more than I usually do in a week. I noticed my achilles and ankle stabilizers are really sore while my calf muscles arenโt in so much pain. So this got me thinking, is this because I usually dance in flats, or is it because Iโm putting too much pressure on my achilles? The pain is just a regular soreness, doesnโt feel like a sign of injury. I have a pretty limited range of motion in my ankles and sometimes have trouble getting over my box.

Does anyone have any advice for avoiding or recovering from Pickleball-induced achilles issues?
I started playing PB less than two months ago, usually play twice a week and have developed Achilles Tendon pain in both legs.
I cut the PB down to once a week and have been doing a physical therapy regimen โ stretches, strengthening exercises, icing and ibuprofen โ for the past two weeks; it hasnโt seemed to helped.
I have good shoes โ Babolat Jet Tere โ and bike regularly (~100 miles/week) without that ever causing achilles issues.

Does anybody have tips to stop my boot from bending inwards and brushing my Achilles? Iโve had these for 2 years and wear them a decent amount and havenโt had this issue until a few weeks ago.
So here's the deal, been listening to the film reroll DnD podcast. currently on the episode where they reroll the first Jurassic Park film. One player attempts to cut a t Rex achilles tendon with a hand axe. Is there anyway to approximate the amount of force that would be necessary to cut through the estimated amount of muscle proportional to a T-Rex achilles (let's say a chicken T-Rex size) with a hand axe? And could that force could be generated by your average adult human? I know this would require some oddly specific numbers such as the PSI necessary to cut through different kinds of meat and I can't stop thinking about it now.
