A list of puns related to "Access Control System"
My company is trying to find a way to log who has access using a badging system. Can you point me in the direction of which vendor offers this type of solution?
Edit: thanks for the update. You guys are awesome.
I've been toying with the idea of firewalling off all of our system admin interfaces (iLO, vcenter, network gear, etc) and allowing access to those subnets to only IP ranges that belong to a GlobalProtect gateway.
The idea being that no matter where our admins happen to be on the network, they'd connect to the local Palo Alto internal gateway, and the IP address they get there would get them in to their appropriate gear.
As extra safeguards we could:
Anybody doing this? Any drawbacks other than the obvious (complexity, Palo traffic load, etc)
Hello Everyone,
We have a Warehouse with more then 30 Doors and with possible 6 unique access areas. We have more then 100 users, and we have all their Data and our system access information is our database.
We want to do access control system, we found a lot of solution but all of them require you to manage them either by using their paid subscription based software or a free software.
We want a access control system, where the main module is open for our system to communicate, so we can manage all access rights through our own developed system, manage all the access rights through our system. We know the basic about access rights and saw a lot of modules on Amazon, do you all think getting one from Amazon is best way to go?
Any response is appreciated.
The power supply for our office access control system is wired to a 20A breaker in the 240/120V electrical panel with 4-core 22AWG FPLR cable. The installer used two strands for each of line and neutral for an effective wire gauge of 19-20AWG.
Is this safe? Up to code? Reasonable?
Hello,
I've inherited a total disaster of an access control system that I'm trying to learn on the fly at (4) commercial buildings. Every day, I try to "ping" my controllers to verify connection to a "static IP Address" and it seems that one goes down. I've called our ISP and they have reset the router and verified everything is working on their end. However, when I ping the port I get no reply and it's still not working.
I would consider myself a novice when it comes to this technology and computers in general and I can't make system changes until I reestablish connection to the controller. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm at my wit's end here.
My hospital currently uses HID Proc Card ii badges for access to certain areas. This is controlled by building management who we lease space from, so I can't move completely away from the 125kHz technology.
What I want to add is the ability to use a badge to log some users into computers in certain areas. From the research I've done today it looks like the iClass 13.56 MHz cards are what's needed to accomplish that task. It looks like the iClass Prox Card series integrates both of those technologies and should be what I want.
My question, because I've never done much with these types of systems, is what do I need to make this work? How do I tie a badge to an AD account and allow a user to use it for authentication? Do I need additional software along with the badges and readers? Can I take an existing HID Prox Card ii and clone its ID to the Prox Card sector of the iClass?
Anyone out there that can suggest a system that can handle 300+ tenants, 20 doors, 4 gates and a telephone entry system?
My problem is I havent been able to find a telephone entry system that integrates seamlessly with an access control system. All have to input tenets 2 times. Once for access control and the 2nd for the telephone entry.
I got a HikVision + a bunch of cameras around my house set up. All seem to work. Things happened that I won't get into, but I don't trust the guy who set it up. I want to take back admin (e.g., prevent him from accessing it) of the system and learn how to use it to make sure everything is going as expected.
Every time I wanted a change (i.e., changing a camera name) he had me have him do it, probably because he was afraid I'd mess it up, which is fair, but again, I don't think I can trust him and would feel more comfortable having access to my stuff.
- I can get into the HikVision portal on my local network
- I was given a login/password to use with an app on my phone called iVMS-4500
Does anyone have any steps that I can take to do this?
Hello!
I am primarily a network cable installer and IT guy for a local business I've done several enterprise and small business sized networks, CCTV over IP systems, etc... I've been asked by one of my clients to provide them with a 4 door access control system. Ideally they'd like a solution where they can use PIN pads, or even finger print readers to get through each of the doors with Exit buttons on the opposite side of the door.
As you can imagine I am quite comfortable with working with cat5e/6 cable and if possible I'd like a solution that I can deploy with relative easy using this cabling infrastructure.
If not, is there another solution that would be easier for me to deploy? I was originally looking at Hikvision's access control systems - the software seems easy, but the control panel and cabling set up is very confusing to me.
Thanks guys!
Hello all! I was looking into Access control systems and how they work. I want to get into Pen testing in the future and have been intrigued by my research into Access Control Systems. Does anyone have any advice on setting up an Access Control system lab? I've seen Paxton Net2 system however it looks like you have to be an official registered installation company to get access to that software.
I have a customer looking for a new access control system and we got pricing Galaxy Control. Is there anyone else we should look at for 3 locations and 12 doors?
