A list of puns related to "Tamarindo (drink)"
... keep reading on reddit ➡Hi, going to be flying into Liberia and planning to visit nosara and tamarindo, what other places should I check out?
I am going to be staying 10 days and want to explore the beach, snorkeling, water rafting, and some hiking with waterfalls to dip into. Pretty basic stuff but not really into the touristy parks, for example la fortuna area, want to stay near the Oceanside since I have a event in nosara I have to attend.
Won’t be having a car either, I hear driving in Costa Rica as a tourist is not the best experience and I’m not use to driving in dirt/gravel tough roads (Californian here haha) what are your thoughts on transportation? Should we take local or book a private car beforehand?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Hey! So it’s my birthday next week (Jan 10) and I’m headed to Costa from NYC (get me the fuck out of here). Aaaaanyway, you guys scared me about the rental car companies jacking the prices when you go to pick it up. I found a car for 15/day, how much more do you think I’d pay for mandatory insurance on top of that 15/day. I’ll be in La fortuna for 3 full days. Going to do one day of arenal/waterfall tour, happy to get recommendations on tours. I was wondering if the Mystico hanging bridges are worth it? The tours with the bridges are more expensive but if you say I can’t miss it, then I’d do it. Also, for the second day, my itinerary is open. I definitely need to see a sloth so maybe the sloth hike? And I was considering maybe stand up paddle boarding on lake Arenal. Also are there any night tours to see wildlife? Happy for other recs for my open day, if there’s something I can’t miss. Third day in La fortuna I’ll be spending at tabacon cuz it’ll be my birthday and this girl needs to relax.
Then driving to Tamarindo. Happy for ANY rec’s for tamarindo because the only plan I have is beach and sunsets. I have a friend in Nosara and was considering driving there for a day. Is that an easy drive?
Also tell me what to eat in all these places please.
Thank you in advance if you will take the time to read and respond to this ❤️
Has anyone been to Tamarindo, Costa Rica and can share some experiences? Any hostel recommendations? I am leaning towards staying at La Botella de Leche. It has a wide range of mixed reviews so if anyone has any experiences with that hostel or other similar ones, that would be helpful.
There appears to be a hireable coach van/bus to and from the Liberia airport. Any experiences with that?
I would like to go for a week in February to spend time surfing, hiking, maybe a jungle tour, enjoying local cuisine, and relaxing on the beach.
Any stories you could share about what to expect and safety expectations for this area would be much appreciated.
My family is planning a trip to Costa Rica this coming July, and most of them either have limited travel experience or prefer a resort-style trip - my husband and I are the odd people out in that we prefer more off the beaten path locations with great food and opportunities to explore/learn about the local culture. Getting folks to consider Central America has been a feat, but now everyone is one board and enthusiastic about Costa Rica. We will have 3 kids with us ages 5-8, and I want to be considerate of their needs as well as the other adults' comfort levels.
Tamarindo has been suggested, and I'm trying to gauge if I can carve out a great experience in the 5-6 days we'd be there. I've found a couple AirBnB's there that satisfy everyone's needs at the right price point, which I haven't found in other towns in Guanacaste. I know Tamarindo is known to be massively touristy and lacking culture, but is it possible to find some special places with a little pre-planning?
We stayed in Tamarindo 3 years ago and loved it. We are planning another trip there in February. I keep reading now about "hectic Tamarindo". Has it changed a lot in 3 years?
As the title says, looking for the best, most reputable shuttle service to tamarindo from San Jose Airport. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!
I'm solo. Kinda lazy so not hike nor Zipline. I want to ATV, fish, boat, national park, whatever. Should I ask the hotel? What beach should I ask around at? Jardin del Edén
We are planning a 10 day trip to Costa Rica in February. Flying into San Jose, thinking of spending 3 days in Tamarindo and a week in Quepos. Mostly looking for some beach time, relaxation, and seeing Manuel Antonio.
I've read a lot about driving times being longer than anticipated. Is moving this far around the country in this time reasonable?
Is it worth jumping up to Poás (or another volcano) while going from San José to Tamarindo? Would you stay a night?
Would you recommend somewhere else besides Tamarindo for the family-friendly beach leg of this journey?
Hello, my husband and I are traveling to Tamarindo next week. I know that recently the travel restrictions changed and now we can’t fly back without a negative Covid test 24 hours before departure. Does anybody know where I can get a test, or have any tips for this. Thank you!
Not necessarily a club or huge bar but what are your favorite spots to have a beer? I'm traveling down the pacific coast so feel free to include bars in other areas.
Hello all, I am heading to Costa Rica in the next two weeks and was looking for any recommendations regarding a private OR shared shuttle from Manuel Antonio to Playa Grande. I have looked into public transport and believe that a shuttle would just be less of a headache. I will not be renting a car for the trip. Any recommendations of driver services would be awesome!
Any resources come to mind? Thank you!
whats my best option for sport fishing? I'll be in Tamarindo and Portero the 19th-24th. I'm solo and would love to join a group.
I know ill be dropped off at the border then have to ride up to San Juan.
Is there anyone who is already going out there this weekend that i can ride with or book a ride share?
I'm wondering what you're experience was like and if it went smoothly? I saw one bus that only stops in 2 places Flamingo and Tamrindo and it would take only 2 hours.
I'm also traveling alone so the shuttle companies want me to pay double which is why I'm looking for alternatives
EDIT: I just got back, decided to just ask a nice couple on the same flight as me if they would like to share a shuttle, it was $30/each, so not bad!
Booked two spots in a minimum 3 person shuttle afternoon (2:30pm) of Jan 11 heading from Monteverde to Grand Playa/Monteverde. Looking for extra person or two to keep costs down. Should be ~$65. Great if you’re solo/duo looking to leave Monteverde in the PM as many shuttles only run in the AM. : )
Feel free to respond on post directly or DM. Cheers!
My family and I will be visiting Costa Rica in April. My brother in law and I would like to do a couple dives. I would also like to do some surfing. Any recommended dive or surf shops in Tamarindo?
I will also be staying in Costa Rica for a couple weeks after my family goes back home. Any recommended surf spots on the way to Panama?
Hey there everyone my girlfriend and I (29 and 26) are possibly planning a trip to Tamarindo the first week of February. We really are looking for nice beaches on a preferably all inclusive resort. Occidental Resort has come up a few times in searches but I haven’t spoken with anyone who’s been there. Also we wanted to check out Daria National Park as I think that’s the closest one. I’m not too keen on the idea of getting a car in a foreign country, as I don’t know their laws. But what’s the ride situation there? Could we Uber or get a taxi to the park? Any fun suggestions for the Tamarindo area? Thanks!!
Edit: upon reading some other posts, maybe Tamarindo is a little too touristy? We’re essentially looking for great beaches and food, but also to see the natural beauty of Costa Rica, but still staying in a safe place.
Hi hi. Im here in Tamarindo studying spanish at CPI. Here for a few months and trying to make new friends / have so company at dinner. ;) I can be found playing volleyball near Witch's Rock Surf Camp or some pool at Salina / The Roof. PM me if interested in chillin around town!
We haven't completed our trip yet but I wanted to share that the chatter around "Tamagringo" really made me nervous before arriving. I would consider myself well traveled and I especially enjoy visiting Central America. I can easily understand and read Spanish, but I'm a horrible speaker, largely due to some neurological problems (I don't even speaking English well lol). I always try to eat and stay local, no all-inclusives, nothing too fancy. From the accounts on this subreddit I thought Tamarindo might be my personal hell but I've been pleasantly surprised. My fiance and I are scouting the area to have a super simple wedding at the end of November. It's really more of a family vacation - half of his family have never left the country, my parents are getting old and are saying this is the last time they'll ever travel this far, etc. For that reason we couldn't go too far from an airport. Multiple flights and 14+ hours of flying is hard on younger kids and older adults. Adding a 2-4 hour drive and/or having to spend the night then drive the next day just wasn't going to happen. Hence - Tamarindo. It was accessible. Here are some of my thoughts:
This is a little random but I was not sure where else to share: I am leaving Tamarindo after a few months in Costa Rica and have a bunch of nice big glass yoghurt jars that I reuse for the bulk goods shop here (granola, beans, pasta, oil, soap…) or for storing food at home. If you are interested let me know below - I just hate to recycle them away, its a little random but they are actually super useful if you are here short-term and are into zero-waste lifestyle. I also have some random kitchen odds and ends like local honey, cooking foil, salt if anyone is interested. Available to hand to someone in-person in Tama Monday this week 😊
Hey guys; going to the bpm festival in tamarindo January; want to know some recommendation and covid restrictions ; where the best groceries store in san jose [quality wise] ? Where to Hike trails , views in tamarindo ? And anything you guys can recommend to do during the day time in tamarindo.
I’m flying into Liberia, renting a car, and was planning to spend 7 nights in Tamarindo. After finding this sub I’m thinking that is a mistake. How should I break up the trip? What are the best places to stay? I’ve read about Monteverde and Playa Flamingo and La Fortuna. Are those good ideas? Anywhere else I should try instead?
I drunkenly bought a ticket to Costa Rica Aug 14-21 via Liberia because it was cheap w/ points and I had a great time last time I was in Costa Rica. Tamarindo seemed like a good spot to focus my time but I'm open to other ideas.
I speak a little Spanish, like hiking, am moderately adventurous, like to drink and smoke, and am currently planning to travel solo.
Im going in January for a music festival but I plan on making a few trips nearby to find some good point breaks or just some standout breaks in the area. I'm not asking you to give up your secret spot, but some places to look into would be appreciated!
