A list of puns related to "Niacin"
Is there any empirical evidence that Niacin and Lionβs Mane help microdosing Psilocybin improve peopleβs mood and productivity, .. or am I wasting my money?? Are they to be taken every day or just on microdosing days?? Thanks!
Wondering if anyone has any experience with Nicain (full flush) for helping with dark circles under eyes. I am already aware that they can be a result of diet, lack of sleep, poor hydration, screen time and/or liver/kidney issues. I believe I have exhausted those options (for now) and would be interested in any evidence, anecdotal or not, as to whether Nicain may help with dark circles under eyes. I have heard from a theoretical point of view, due to the impact of Niacin on blood flow, that there may be something there.
Thanks
Hi all, just started working with golden teacher and lion's mane, haven't added in the Niacin yet, mostly because I just can't quite find the info to explain to me what it does and why to take it. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!
Hey all, hope everyone has been well.
I've been MDing for the last few weeks with a few breaks, and as I've dialed it in closer to my preference, I'm still not sure if I have my niacin levels right.
I purchased a bottle of 500mg, which I later found to be considered a large dosage, but I still felt the flush to be manageable, albeit slightly uncomfortable.
My main curiosity is regarding my specific capsules, as they're labeled as "slow release", which initially made sense to me as the flush isn't as intense as the reports I've read from those others who've taken 500mg.
Do you think that I should continue with 500mg SR given there are no issues, or is the amount concerning?
Also, is it necessary to take the Niacin every day of the week, or is it better to only take in MD days?
Thanks in advance!
I haven't tripped in months but I've had the urge to do this again for a while. I have some mushrooms growing so hopefully this is the last time I trip on this shit. As for the stuff I'm adding in, Phenibut is a nootropic that reduces anxiety and induces euphoria; this is to combat paranoia/anxiety and possibly potentiate the euphoria. Agmatine is a NDMA antagonist (Like DXM, just much much weaker) which is known by many to reduce your tolerances to almost every drug and potentiate every drug. The Niacin is simply vitamin B3 in the form of nicotinic acid which is a vasodilator, to counteract the strain on my cardiovascular system.
THINGS ON STANDBY:
- Capsule filled with 600mcg of Huperzine A to kill the trip if things go south (or at least make it more manageable)
- Honey for dry mouth
- Mint gum for nausea and dry mouth
- 1 gallon of water
- Starburst and chips for snacking on
I'm also inside of a tent with the zippers tied up to reduce the chances of me getting delirious and going outside. I will also be clearing my contacts and recents to prevent me from calling/texting anyone while delirious, although the chances of me calling 911 accidentally are still there (if anyone knows a way to stop this it would be appreciated, as I cannot abandon my phone since its my only internet access and I would like it as a way to stay grounded). See you guys in an hour or so, I'll try to update as frequently as possible. Although I might forget, so try to remind me.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Not asking if Niacin has health benefits, but the actual flush you get from it. I have heard mixed things about this and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this. For example, some say its good for skin as it helps move nutrients there. tnx.
I am considering MDing, but in my short bout of research I can't seem to find specifics on the connection of niacin and my heart issue, palpitations. I do see that niacin can cause them which leads me to believe that it can exasperate them, but I'm no doctor. When I do have a palpitation episode it can cause me anxiety and, in severe episodes - which are rare for me, light headedness which can cause that anxiety to skyrocket. I have found my palpitation triggers, such as heavy caffeine intake, and avoid them as much as possible, but sometimes my heartbeat just wants to be felt throughout my entire chest lol If I start MDing should I consider not adding the niacin or would it be wise to try taking niacin regularly before I begin MDing to get my body used to it and see if it could be a potential trigger? Is it something I should avoid altogether and just MD with the fungi?
The Stammets Stack denotes a minimum dosage of niacin at 100mg (200mg max). I'm not sure how he arrived at that number, but shouldn't there be some kind of correlation/formula with the other ingredients? The other thing that concerns me is that according to WebMD, adults should not take no more than 35mg daily. At higher doses:
>These doses could pose risks, such as liver damage, gastrointestinal problems, or glucose intolerance.
I should start taking niacin next week, I bought 500 mg pills with a flush and I'm waiting for it to arrive, I'm thinking about cutting the pills and starting with a lower dose. Did it really help you with the brain fog? I have had a derealization and dizziness for more than 1 month since my infection and I had to ask for a time off from work because it was impossible to work like this, I'm hoping that niacin will bring me back to life.
I am aware that MM does not recommend taking niacin as a supplement because of the flush that is causing temporary skin redness and a burning feeling.
Is anyone aware why that is not good for the body?
I don't have much circulation and have constantly cold hands and feet, so taking niacin really helps me. However a long time ago on one of his lives, I heard him saying "I am not a fan of that niacin flush", but did not explain further.
I tried 7th time in my life Niacin flush and orgasmed like 3-4 hours after the flush (got red patchy spots and burning feeling throughout body and boost in bloodflow in areas in which otherwise I never felt as much bloodflow) and the next day I didn't have the POIS tightness which presses the digestive tract making it harder to eat as much and makes the eyes squeezed so harder to focus and vision wasn't blurry, a bit more energy too however the memory issue symptom didn't change at all
Niacin flush before orgasm makes it less bad that I can even do some things next day instead of sitting through staring at screen with zoning out, losing focus and getting narcoleptic fatigue after 500 meters of walking next day after orgasm
Like I'm curious what exactly the leading theory on why it helps is.
I want to raise NAD levels but canβt afford NR or MNM supplements. Does niacin supplementation work just as well?
I plan to take 1g of niacin a day (together with 1g of TMG), will that work? If so, does it work just as well as NR? If not, less by how much?
The Paul stamet stack is adding Niacin to your psilocybin microdosing, but would a B complex work just as well? Why is it that everyone seems to solely take Niacin (B3) isolated ?
I saw a study saying Niacin can rise glucose levels and potentially cause type 2 diabetes. Is this true? I saw some evidence and some studies made but I'm really sad to be leaving Niacin as I loved the flush, sadly if ti's true I will never consume it again :(
The flush that comes with ordinary non-extended release niacin (I usually take 500 mg) instantly clears any brain fog I might have. It has done this every time I've taken it for the past several years. During this time I've tried numerous other substances, none of which have had a similar effect, including ginkgo and aspirin, both of which purportedly share niacin's supposed cerebral blood flow increasing effect. Unfortunately niacin's brain fog clearing effect only lasts for an hour or so, I don't get the same effect if I redose the same day and if I take niacin consecutively for more than a couple of weeks or so I end up building tolerance to the flush.
Given that aspirin and ginkgo, both of which are thought to increase cerebral blood flow, don't have the same effect leads me to think that increased brain blood flow might not be the reason why this happens. I'm not sure what else the reason could be, however β I'm not deficient in niacin/B3, my lipids and blood glucose are fine, etc.
Or do aspirin/ginkgo just not increase brain blood flow enough to matter compared to 500 mg niacin? Any suggestions for other substances that might have a similar effect?
Anyone take these two at the same time? If yes, what was your experience?
Thanks.
hey yβall, does anyone have experience with Niacin and if so, does it irritate the skin as much as people make it out to be? Just want to know what to prepare for
Literally.
Makes me emotional to the point I get triggered by any song or movie or event. As if it promotes the release of suppressed emotions.
It hits half an hour in and lasts for a couple hours.
I get I'm NAD deficient, or it wouldn't affect me at all, right?
I've just eaten a pasty that states it has no artificial preservatives or colours. Niacin is the only ingredient listed in its ingredients that I don't know where it comes from.
I know sources of B3 include beef, liver, eggs, nuts, seeds, avocados...
But for mass production, when its going into low-cost pasties, where do we get niacin as an ingredient in food we buy from the supermarket.
I have a question regarding fractalkine. Everybody talks about inhibiting fractalkine with the monocytes that are carrying spike protein. Thats cool but I dont understand how it helps someone who already has monocytes attached to blood vessel walls through fractalkine. Does the statin go in and destroy this fractalkine bond or just prevent MORE monocytes from attaching? Like if you had long covid for 6 months and tooks a statin to inhibit fractalkine havent all the monocytes carrying spike already attached to the blood vessel wall through fractalkine, and since the fractalkine bond exists already, the statin wouldnt do anything?
High dose I mean... I regularly take 500mg niacin because I WANT the flush, but damn it messes with my stomach sometimes. Last night I had a protein smoothie, then niacin and a few other multi-vitamins, and a 2.5g-3.5g dose of red bali and I did nooot feel great (stomach-wise). I also feel like a high dose of niacin almost "cancels" out the kratom buzz.
Just a random tip. I wouldn't recommend mixing niacin and kratom.
Hi, I have a medical checkup in a couple of weeks. I'm wondering if I take 1000mg of normal flushing Niacin daily, or 1000mg x 2 a day whether that will increase my HDL. Does anyone have any experiences they can share of short term impact on HDL and what dosage they used?
So I was looking into Phenibut alternatives for my severe anxiety disorder and stumbled upon Picamilon. Which is essentially a substance created out of Gaba and Niacin.
The Niacin makes it pass the BBB.
My idea is, to mix Gaba and Niacin powder together and administer it sublingually. So both can enter the bloodstream at the same time.
Unfortunatly, I have no Budget right now to test the theory.
So what do you think?
Just wanted to come here
I have had success with niacin, i think i take a b-complex but research states 1000mg helps with nicotine.
i have also had success with L-theanine.
23m, no preexisting conditions aside from depression/anxiety.
I got covid in early August 2021. I had all the typical acute symptoms and was hospitalized but discharged after a few hours. About a week after my quarantine ended, I got hit with a new wave of long-haul symptoms, including brain fog, fatigue, shortness of breath, and EXTREME anxiety. The brain fog, fatigue, and shortness of breath stuck around until the end of September and slowly went away. I know some people might not consider me a true long-hauler, but I'm posting my experience in case anyone else can benefit from this.
The anxiety was the last symptom that stuck around, and it seemed to get worse as time went on. I've heard it described as "Neurological Anxiety" and "Adrenaline Dumps", both of which describe what I experienced pretty well. Exercise, stress, and alcohol all triggered extreme episodes during my recovery that lasted about 2 weeks each. It got so bad that I had to quit my job because I physically couldn't handle the stress.
About a month ago, I started taking Niacin and CBG and it's worked wonders for my anxiety. I started both of them around the same time so I'm unsure which one helped me more (although I suspect it's the CBG), but it's been a month now and I pretty much feel back to normal. Fingers crossed that it stays that way.
For the Niacin, I started at 100mg twice a day and worked my way up to my current dosage of 900mg.
For CBG, I've been using a full-spectrum tincture that I bought from the recommendation of another user on this sub. It also contains CBD and a handful of other cannabinoids. I've also been smoking CBG flower, which is readily available online and legal in most (if not all) states.
Any questions/comments let me know!
Whenever I take Niacin in the winter, I start shivering a lot and getting extremely cold. Does anyone else experience this or know why this happens, thanks.
I really tried to understand this. I have tried microdosing with Stamets stack, psilocybine 100mg and lions mane but without niacin. 4 days on 4 days off. Have felt a small change in the mood but only done the psilocybine 6 times. I recently bought niacin so I have it at home now.
I can't really figure out what niacin is for. I searched for it and listened to him but maybe it's some kind of lost in translation thing because English is not my first language.
Can someone try to explain? Is there no use doing what I've been doing now? Without niacin?
Second question: is 6 times to little to start to investigate? I feel like I want to try to take more. 200-300mg each time instead of 100mg. Or should I stick to 100mg?
Thanks. This subreddit has learnt me a lot.
So there are a plethora of companies offering items in the title (except ones with a phosphate group) but how they differ from one another is not very clear. Anyone here with a background in biochemistry that cares to enlighten the public? Which form is preferred to take? I want the pharmacokinetics involved. if possible From what I've read good old niacin can be converted to NAD which has two forms, an oxidized (active) form; NAD+ and an reduced (inactive) form ;NADH and they switch back and forth, a precursor to both (and niacin) is Tryptophan and Aspartic acid.
Does niacin potentiate San Pedro & is it safe? Itβs hard finding information online about this; if anyone has any links, it would be much appreciated!
Which supplement company do you guys buy from for Lions Mane and Niacin?
I love niacin so far. I am a small senior and a dose of 12.5 mg four times a day has tremendously relieved my anxiety. This adds up to a total of 50 mg of niacin a day. However, I just had surgery for cataracts and glaucoma, and discovered a lot of articles saying niacin can be bad for the eyes. I'm inclined to believe this could not possibly apply to me, because the articles usually are about subjects taking much, much higher doses of niacin than I am. (1.5 grams, for example) Also I saw one article saying a study had suggested that niacin could help prevent glaucoma.
Please don't tell me to ask my doctor. She seems to be an excellent surgeon but has said some things to me that lead me to believe she trusts only what her Pharmaceutical rep tells her about medications... She once told me a certain OTC substance was harmful in her opinion. She recommended a pharaceutical instead. Guess what was the third ingredient in the pharmaceutical she had recommended. Yes, that's right, it was the aforementioned OTC substance. Had another similar discussion with her about another OTC substance.
I don't know if there is an answer to my concern right now. I wish someone could point me to a study or a person (researcher) who would relieve my concers, because I don't want to give up niacin. It has really seemed to be helping me, even at a very "low dose."
Edit: The niacin can not possibly be the root cause of my vision issues, because I only started taking it about 2 months ago, and the visits to the eye doctor to plan the surgery started many months before that.
