A list of puns related to "Nicotinamide"
Anyone using NR (nicotinamide Riboside). I've noticed significantly reduced hair loss since starting this.
It was not my main intention, was just using it for general health benefits. During that time I didn't realize my hair was improving and my was loss reduced.
When I ran out of NR, I didn't buy more, wasn't sure if it was doing anything for me. That's when I noticed my hair loss was back at it. And that's when I thought of the NR.
So I bought some more NR, and sure enough, the hairloss has subsided!
I tried to get cheaper stuff from truNiagen & China, it is the same bunk shit. No effect, stomach aches, completely different taste, smell, texture.
I've been using the science.bio, I think it might be the only legit NR. Not shilling for them, I actually tried calling them out because I thought truNiagen was suppose to legit. Science.bio wasn't afraid to discuss this and had all the analysis reports and COA available.
Or would some people take both?
I'm getting my tomorrow.
I recently purchased nicotinamide riboside to add to my current stack. I'm wondering when is the best time to take this supplement: is it better to take it with food or or while fasting?
I must preface this with the statement that this is in no way to be taken as anti-vaccine. Vaccines are the most essential tool in the fight against COVID-19.
That said, just because you have a great hammer in your toolbox, it doesnโt mean you donโt want pliers or a screwdriver.
Iโve been tracking the research that seems to me to indicate that NR might be a relevant tool in the fight against COVID-19. However I want to make a distinction that Iโm not claiming to know that NR is a treatment for COVID-19. What Iโm merely saying here is, this is my attempt to round up the state of evidence as I know, as of this date, because I think itโs worth having one place where someone can see it all together.
My goal here is to very minimally interpret each development in this story below - just so a reader can have an idea of whatโs what, without having to click through and read every link contents. Please make your own determinations as to how to interpret everything. Do not assume Iโm correct.
Iโll also say, Iโve tried my best to stick to published or preprint articles wherever possible. However, in some cases thereโs not a journal article for some of these things. Sometimes itโs a press release or whatever. So in those cases I have to give you a source and thatโs why some of these things are not journal articles but rather they are things that I feel are important to know. Again, you make your own determination as to wether or not you agree.

Dec 25,2020 Published article in JCB: This research started in March 2020 and was the first pre-clinical evidence that COVID-19 knocks down NAD and that introducing NR may support our innate immunity. It was published in a couple versions in spring/summer 2020 on preprint. This is the peer reviewed version. ... keep reading on reddit โกWhich one should I use? I have some acne but mostly acne scars.
For the past month or so I've been utilising a fasting regime for weight loss, generally 2x 60hr fasts per week (i.e. 2x 2 full days without food) or 22hr fasting when I feel like it. I have 3 'full eating' days where I generally have 3 meals.
One week ago I started taking nicotinamide (NAM) capsules (500mg niacin equivalent, once daily) and noticed same day effects:
I use an Oura ring to gather data for the last point, and have noticed that the effect on heart rate is particularly prevalent on days when I eat.
In the week before I started taking the NAM my minimum heart rate values were 58,58,62,60,59,62,61. This is not noticeably different from my regular heart rate from before I started fasting.
Since I started NAM, the rates are 70,67,63,62,69,68. Average rates are also around 10bpm higher on the higher days.
The 63 and 62 values are following fasting days, while the higher values are following days I ate.
My question is, does anyone know of any mechanism which would cause this increase, and why it would seemingly be feeding-dependent? I am taking TMG (started 2 days after first taking the NAM) so it's unlikely to be under-methylation.
I have taken NAM before (this brand and another), but wasn't monitoring my heart rate at that point so unfortunately don't know whether this problem existed before. I'm tempted to get hold of a version with reduced dosage, to see if that improves things.
Iโve got a 500mg Nicotinamide supplement I take. Iโve also started taking the methyl forms of b9 and b12 which are meant to be their active forms. Iโve read Nicotinamide dumps methyl groups quickly, so does that mean it will render my methyl supplements to be unusable or less usable by the body?
