A list of puns related to "Paper Bag (song)"
Does anyone know if this song is available anywhere? I heard it pre-stream and it just hit the spot!
Listen, I understood the "bring your own bag" rule for grocery stores. Or at least I thought I did? I thought the point was that plastic [grocery] bags created too much non-degradeable waste, so stores were moving to the alternatives of using paper bags or requiring customers to bring their own.
I did not realize paper bags were also banned, which I learned today while getting breakfast at the McDonald's drive thru. When the kid at the box asked "would you like to buy a bag with your order for 25Β’?" I thought there's no way McDonald's is trying to upsell me a bag, but nope he was serious. They tried to hand me my sandwich and fries individually, lmao. I just can't fathom anyone going through the drive thru and passing on a bag with their order.
What dumbfuck made this rule? Or am I stupid for not understanding it? Please enlighten me.
On a different note, McDonald's has the audacity to give me wax/plastic coated coffee cups, fry pouches, and sandwich wrappers but they're charging extra for a to-go bag π
Ok so this has been driving me mad for liketerally a couple of years now - I dont recall even particularly rating this song but I need to know what it is just to satisfy my brain. Can anyone help? Feel like later lyrics are 'pentrate her' (π) and 'elevator'
it makes absolutely no sense that TJ employees either double bag or use more bags than necessary because the handles are so weak.
this has been an issue for as long as i can remember. what a waste.
Paper grocery bag handles are not strong enough to support the typical weight of the bag when full. Attempting to use the handles often results in them breaking, and spilling groceries on the floor. The handles require resources to make, and mislead people into thinking they can use them to carry the bags.
When the bags don't have handles, people are more likely to support them from the bottom, leading to fewer spills.
To change my view, convince me that the with-handle bags have some advantage for carrying groceries over those without handles.
I'll be driving for about 30 minutes, and then able to make replies starting around 6:45pm PST.
I waited a week for this boxed set to arrive, only to find Amazon sent it in a paper bag with no packing so it got beat up in transit.

All 8 corners of the boxed set are damaged along with the corners of the two outside books. I already have a return & replacement on the way.
This is the 2nd delivery in a week that's shown up, beat to hell, in a paper envelope. I usually try to check for local business options, guess I'll be ordering even less from Amazon if this is their new quality of shipping.
Edit: Not 3rd Party. "Ships from Amazon.com, Sold by Amazon.com" right under the buy now button.
Edit2: Update, replacement received and to no one's surprise, it was shipped in a bag and damaged, too. Weirdly, the first set was not shrink-wrapped, (a return?) which would account for the corners being so beat up. This one was wrapped and the corners aren't quite as bad, but they managed to cut the wrap and tear the box. So, back it goes for a refund and I'm headed to the only book store nearby.
Edit3: I bought the first 3 boxed sets (Books 1-9) at the bookstore. They were $5 more per set than Amazon, but they are pristine. The cashier asked me if they were by the author of the Lord of the Rings lol
I was just charged $0.25 for a paper bag at McDonalds on 102a and 152nd. I understand there is an initiative to get rid of plastic bags but this is a paper bag. Even if the reason is to get rid of all single use bags, $0.25 for a bag at McDonalds is ridiculous.
Edit: I looked around and found the mandate on City of Surrey's website. Businesses are REQUIRED to charge a minimum of $0.25 for paper checkout bags.bag mandate
The McDonald's locations in Burnaby are charging customer 15 cents a bag even though it is a City of Vancouver only regulation. When I went to collect my food, I got a McMuffin wrapped in four napkins along with my two hash browns wrapped in four more napkins, which consisted of more waste than giving me a bag in the first place.
I just ordered food at the McDonalds across from Guilford Mall, and I was asked if I wanted to buy a bag for $0.25. I declined, and my food was brought out in a plastic box (I didn't get to keep the box). Has anybody else been asked to buy their food bag at other McDonalds locations in Surrey? I'm wondering how widespread this change is.
