A list of puns related to "Order of the Companions of Honour"
I think it's a bit baffling as to why there isn't an Order of the Companions of Honour when there is one in real life. Could be awarded to people who haven't quite met the requirements for an Order of Merit, and for having a major contribution to the arts, science, medicine, or government lasting over a long period of time, like lasting a whole term in the cabinet without having to resign, or long-serving party leaders.

The Queen chooses a group of people to get honours on her birthday and also at New Year. She's picked two people from the world of HP this year! Read more details here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40300916
Boxycharm can send me wooden dollar eye pencils and I don't complain.
Boxycharm can send me sprays meant for dark skin tones and lipstick in the shades only Willy Wonka would wear. Fine. Alright. I'll go out of my comfort zone and experiment.
Boxycharm can send me a zombie item from literally 2017 and it's okay.
Boxycharm can send me half of my charm order and make me wait a whole month to refund me for not sending all of it, okay. I can be patient.
Boxycharm can bait and switch with spoilers, okay, I know what to expect.
Boxycharm can send me a $6 sponge in place of the $25 lashes everyone else got, okay, fine.
But this fucking bullshit if they honour those backdoor sales? I'm out. We were promised first dibs. And then we were told the store was shut down. So a lot of us who had been waiting literally 10 hours logged off and went on to do real life stuff with the assurance nothing would sell out because the shop was closed. If those orders are honoured, for a lot of us our ENTIRE DAY was wasted on This mlm-level scam of a sale.
When you have more than half a million subscribers, you can't just stumble into everything and say "oops we didn't expect it." Yes, you did. You just didn't want to make the expenditure necessary to address the expected consumer response.
Edit: this may be the thing that makes me unsub. Not even the $1 wooden eyeliner made me upset. But as soon as my annual is up, I'm done. And if I can dispute the annual with them, I will. I have been falsely advertised and induced into a sale with them multiple times now.
Sometimes I play a game, and more than one person showed up for the team. It gets awkward sometimes having to decide who to honour.
Edit: I say we should be able to honour others, team or enemy player, after the obligatory first honours
Edit #2: So let me be more clear. I think the honour system should allow us to honor more than just one teammate. There should be a button in the post game screen, next to each player to be able to honor them as well.
Think about the different scenarios, say your team took the time to honor everyone else. Riot should add a little flair to show the whole team honored each other. This would reward positive team behavior.
Another scenario, say all ten people in the game took the time to honour not just their team, but the enemy team as well. Riot can add an even bigger flair, and maybe a small reward. This would encourage kinder more respectful behavior toward your enemy as well as your team.
I personally find the honour system can be used a bit better to really reward good behaviour in league of legends. There are many times where more than just one teammate deserves an honor. And there are also times where even an enemy deserves to be recognized for his exemplary behaviour. The system is too restricted with just being able to honor single teammate.
Jo Cox - A woman who was killed by a man who said βThis is for Britainβ, βkeep Britain independentβ and βBritain firstβ whilst he butchered her. A woman who was killed because she believed in the EU and our continuing membership of the union.
I am so angry right now.
The man is an absolute disgrace to himself, Parliament and the country he allegedly serves. His tenure cannot be over soon enough.
I am talking about Ser Brienne of Tarth's knightship scene. Ned was all about honour and keeping oaths. In the story, noone fight and struggle with the idea of honour and oath as much as Brienne and Jaime. Jaime has been accused of being an oathbreaker and man without honour. Brienne has been chasing the way of honour and oaths her entire life.
In the scene, you can noticable see Brienne holding Ned's 1/2 Ice before she has the courage to agree while Jaime knighted her with Ned's second half of the Ice. It is Ned's sword which bound Honour together.
We often will (justifiably) discuss quotes from Tolkienβs books, but the man said and wrote a fair bit outside of them too, and there are some interesting quotes to be found.
One that I came across recently in Letters was this: > βFor myself, I find I become less cynical rather than more - remembering my own sins and follies; and realize that men's hearts are not often as bad as their acts, and very seldom as bad as their words.β
Itβs kinda funny to see that a man who dwelt a fair bit on βThe Long Defeatβ still didnβt fall into cynicism and pessimism. Anyways though, what do yβall have to add?
