The seller is calling this a Triceratops tooth from the Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation of New Mexico. The identification is completely wrong. Triceratops comes from the Late Cretaceous of the Hell Creek/Lance Formations of the Western US and Canada. By the way, this is a rock.

Day 106: Stegosaurus. The third most famous Dinosaur. Decided to go a more original route with the colours rather than green body, red plates like every depiction ever. This is my first Morrison Formation dino, the one that includes all the famous Jurassic dinos like Allosaurus and Diplodocus.

So the other day I found this interactive map that shows what the Earth would have looked like at different time periods. I noticed that around the time of the late Jurassic period most of Texas would have been above sea level.
My question is if there supposedly was new Jurassic deposits or even extents of other deposits like the Morrison, would they still be there? And if so, how far down would they be?
