FOUND! East Anglia, UK, approx 4.5m deep. It is around 5inches long, according to BGS the bedrock is a mix of mudstone, silt stone and sandstone formed during the jurassic period. Sorry if that's obvious - I know nothing about fossils! We thought possible a spine?! reddit.com/gallery/oo0it5

Found in utah east of zion national park. It was sitting on the ground but I think it came from mudstone in the carmel formation. The piece of wood that it is on is six inches wide.

It was found in Jurrasic mudstone. It's hard, def not calcite and it has this very loose layer around it. My guess is SiO2, like chert, but why does it look like that?
