Weβre currently pregnant with baby girl number 2. Our toddler is named Penelope with the nickname Penny being used most frequently.
My husband and I both love the name Miriam, with Midge as the nn, for this little girl. Our only hang up is that I think most people associate Miriam as a biblical and Jewish name and neither of us are religious at all.
What are your thoughts on Miriam as a modern name? Is it too old and religious?
I think she is saying that she had a really hard time with the ED episodes because her IRL sister died after a 15 year battle and that the writers knew that. If anyone is watching, can you confirm that is what she said? I have it playing off to the side and I barely caught it. I didn't know about her sister :(
Miriam Chapman (who also went by Angela, and possibly many other names) was murdered in Miami in the spring of 1976. She was 25, and people who knew her at the time recalled her as friendly, cheerful, and perhaps a bit too trusting (reports now indicate that this may have been influenced by mental illness or disability). She used many names and backstories in encounters with authorities, but she consistently spoke to those she was on friendly terms with about having family in Indiana and perhaps hoping to return to that area.
Her murder remained unsolved until 2019, when she was connected to serial killer Samuel Little by his own detailed confession, her history of sex work (shared in common with his other known and alleged victims), and contemporary reports that she was seen in the days prior to her death with a man matching Little's description who had offered to paint a mural on the hotel where she lived and worked.
Though her case was considered closed in 2019, detectives continued to search for her next-of-kin. It appears that some relatives were initially located in 1976; they were unable to finance transporting her from Florida for burial at that time, and appear to have fallen out of the picture (perhaps by dying without survivors?) in the time since. With assistance from research by The Fall Line podcast and Ancestry.com family tree data, investigators have identified her current closest living tie as a distant cousin who hadn't known much about that branch of his family tree.
If Little's confessions are credible, how many of his other victims may have similar histories of being lost to or cut off from survivors? I also wonder what it would be like to be the next-of-kin and get a call out of the blue that you had a mystery relative who had lived a tough life and suffered so badly at the end.

If the girls were 'lost but not in total panic mode' (given that they only called 112 twice near sunset on April 01) why did they not try to call Miriam (their host in Boquete) to explain the situation? It would seem the most logical thing to do.
I know this sounds absurd, but remember these girls never used their phones (they had only Dutch Sim cards and no roaming services), they always used WhatsApp and all contacts with Miriam or anyone else in Panama was by WhatsApp, never by phone. So it might well be that they never bothered to store the phone number of Miriam (and others) in their phone address-book, and I doubt if they remembered the number or kept it anywhere written down with them.
So perhaps they never realized that you can find the phone number by checking up the WhatsApp profile?? They surely did not have internet services out there in the wilderness, and they had many other things on their mind (tired,slightly panicky, etc, etc) so they might simply have reasoned that they could not call her because they did not have her number..
They looked up the WhatsApp profile on April 03 and made a screendump, but that might very well have been the moment when they finally realized that the number is visible if you check up the profile page!! Sadly, by that time they were already off the trail and somewhere completely lost and I suspect they stopped making any phone attempts when their phone no longer showed that mysterious one bar.
I named my daughter Miriam six months ago. My husband loves it and itβs a family name. Iβm not in love with it though. My daughter is a happy giggly baby and I feel like Miriam is a bit serious for her. When I tell people her name, I sometimes get comments about it being so old-fashioned. It makes me wonder if I should have gone with something trendier. That said, changing her name is not an option so I want to work on falling in love with the name.

So according to what I have found online I understand that it is a known issue, but I haven't found an actual fix, other than upgrading my pc/completely muting the voice volume . Basically, Miriam's is distorted and causes minor frame drops. I have no problem playing the game without the voice lines, but why would I if I have the possibility to play with them? I hope someone can help me

I can excuse Hannibal's... everything and I enjoy him a lot but I almost have to force myself not to think about Miriam because it makes me so mad lmao. I am still appalled that he kept her captive for so long. I feel like it's the worst thing he ever did. Did he keep her drugged the whole time? Was he planning to use her to taint Jack all along? How long would he have kept her? Why not kill her without displaying her?
I wish we could have seen more of Miriam, tho it seems to many people she came off as very annoying.

I'm sure that would be a riot, esp. if a remake of "Parents Day" were to happen and that even if Stella and/or Miles chastises Big Bob and Miriam, the latter won't care. Also, It'll be interesting to see if Helga would rather have Stella as a mom-like figure than Miriam, causing for the latter to straighten up.
