1/3 of a year is actually a pretty long period of time, especially in something as rapidly moving as crypto. It's also a bit "telling" or concerning to me that the team and VRA holders get so defensive whenever someone brings up that we still have

The question I am starting to ask myself as we start to approach the half-year mark is: why is this massive news being now not addressed and being hushed?

I was looking into some unclaimed property data and randomly noticed that deceased Fields Medalist Maryam Mirzakhani is owed $52,022.81 in wages from Stanford apparently from 2 separate checks: $13,470.68 (CA unclaimed property id: 1014578015) and $38,552.13 (CA unclaimed property id: 1014578014). Mirzakhani died of breast cancer back in 2017 and it looks like she was using her department address to receive her paychecks leading to this situation. $52k is a reasonable amount of money so, if anyone knows the family, it might be worth letting them know. For everyone else, don't use your department address as your address!

Intro:
Im fairly new to the gyw and heritage footwear game. I fell in love with my Red Wings last year and that got the ball rolling. I've always been someone who heavily researches everything that interest me. In my research into gyw footwear I found this subreddit and the stitchdown shoecast. This subreddit and the shoecast got looking into the indonesian bootmaker scene. One of the first makers I encountered was Ray from renavgoodsco. I started a conversation with him on instagram, explaining that I'm new to this but that I'm itching to try some of his gorgeous footwear. He was really cool to chat with and comforted my biggest fears, sizing. I have had and still do occasionally have bad shoe size experiences. But Ray said that as long as I gave him really accurate measurements, sizing really wouldn't be an issue. I should face my fears head-on, that's what my shrink always says. So I took a dive into the deep and placed my order. Traced my foot, measured everything between length, width circumference of ball and instep, etc... Order was placed, now the waiting began. I was told a lead time of 12-15 weeks. Well they have arrived this week exactly 5 months to the date. Thats more than the 15 weeks promised, but I dont really care. Its not like I got a plane to catch or whatever..
Initial impressions:
Of course I cant give you a full detailed review just yet. Ive worn them for 2 days straight. The fit is dead on. The clicking, the stitching the welting is just beautiful. In comparison to RW, Ray does a much better job. They fit great, feel great at my feet. The leather is really stiff and will need some breaking in, but I knew what to expect when I got horsebutt leather.
The leather:
Toscanello Horsebutt by the Maryam tannery in Italy. Pretty famous leather I should think and I know why, its awesome!! Its so thick, tough and gorgeous. Horsebutt leathers almost always have a very distinct grain pattern. I shouldnt call it pattern cause its as random as they come.
My top three HB tanneries for grain would be 1) Shinki, 2) Maryam and 3) Cloe. Sorry Horween.
The toscanello I got here is more brown-earthish than the prototypical reddish-brown. Personally I like that. But what sets my toscanello apart from the others is definitely the amount of character in the grain. Especially in the heelcounter area. Amazing job clicking!! I love it. I cant wait to see this leather evolve and patin
