A list of puns related to "Land snail"
Hey! I'm the happy new owner of 4 beautiful land snails. They were very recently given to me by a friend who (due to a worsening physical disability) unfortunately could no longer care for them. I don't know everything, just some basic care (pretty much how to not kill them) so I'd really love to learn more! I'm doing my own research but because they are illigal where I live so there isn't much that I can find π©
Any tips on the best diet/how often they need to be fed? (right now they just get veggie scraps from us. Foods like potatoes, lettuce, cucumber, peppers, spinach, apples, peach, zucchini and on occasion we give them very small frozen pinky mice and frozen bloodworm cubes) they also each have there own chunks of cuttlefish bone!
best substrate? (we use a mix of coconut fiber and perlite free potting soil)
We us LED lights for the tanks but I keep finding contradicting answers about lights should we have no lights, more lights? Uvb? (I've only ever owned geckos)
We keep their tanks moisture up by spraying them down twice a day with a spray water bottle and they also have a shallow water dish in there tanks is that enough?
Finally enrichment, right now there tanks look pretty naked because I don't want to put something in there that they will try to eat and then have them die so what's safe?!? Is there things I should have in there right now?
Any and all help is very appreciated! I want to give these guys the best life possible, they had a hard start and now I just want to make sure they are completely taken care of to the best of my capabilities!!
New to this entire snail keeping thing but I am very interested in keeping them, also any tips for snail keeping would be useful :)
So i read about giant african land snails and their dangerous to humans parasites, i know these occur in the wild but im also concerned if pet store snails could have these. Sorry im very new to having snails.
Hey fellas I have a question for all the slug and snail lover. If you guys make an enclosure for for example a giant african landsnail, what would you guys put into the enclosure? I plan on getting giant fire snails and want to create an as natural looking enclosure as possible without that the snail eats everything inside.
I have five baby land snails (I am almost certain they are cornu aspersum based on what Iβve read, but Iβm no scientist) and I was wondering if there were foods that higher in protein that they would eat? I have tried giving them both dry and soaked oats and chia seeds, but I donβt think theyβve been eating them at all. Is there anything else I should try?
where should i get an african land snail? i have always wanted one as a pet.
I was wondering if there are any land snails that can't be housed with other species(not that you would) due to aggression or better yet are there any species that eat snails. I have a couple assassin snails in my aquarium and wondered if the land has something similar.
I have 2 giant African land snails that have been kinda dropped on me and I have a few questions
How long will they last without a proper enclosure without a heat pad? I have ordered one from Amazon but it won't be here until Saturday, I have turned my radiator all the way up so my room is warm but i don't know if it's enough
What's the best flooring I can use? I'm currently using damp soil that I spray every day
Besides citrus what other plants can't I give them
And finally: I have 2 snails but only one moves around a lot, is this normal or is something wrong with the other? The other one does move since when I wake up he was in a different spot from where he started I'm just a bit worried
Free snails, mostly ramshorn. Local pick up only.
the big one is zape the medium sized is zipi the small one is lucy but the snail with it shell broken is alice
I read this series of books from around 2004-2011ish. The female main character has a group of friends with pets like fish, giant african land snails, guinea pigs, cats, chinchillas. One book in the series teaches what groups of animals are called. A quote I remember is βa group of fish is called a school which is boring so Iβll call it a glitter/glimmer of fishβ or something along those lines.
I've had my snail since the end of March, he was tiny when I got him and now he's huge. He's buried himself right at the bottom of his tub, and hasn't moved for almost 2 weeks, we've been putting food in the tub every now and then to see if he would come up and eat but doesn't move. I recently put a heat mat at the bottom side of his tub to warm it up as the room he's in is quite cold. The inside of the tub now ranges between 20 and 25 degrees celcius.
Could he be hibernating? Or could he have passed away? I haven't dug him up yet as I'm not home and he's being looked after just family members. Would it be worth digging him up or shall I leave him?
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
I'm looking to adopt some lovely snails from a good breeder, but I'm having trouble since its illegal to ship snails across state lines. Ive tried facebook and google, but found nothing :(
If you live in Texas and have any land snails for sale, please comment or DM me!!! I have a 10 gallon tank so I'm looking for two or three snails that arent very large, and are different types if possible!
