A list of puns related to "Keeshond"
Iβm considering getting a Keeshond puppy, and all of the reputable breeders have a wait list. How long did you end up waiting? Did the breeder give you a rough estimate of when you would expect a puppy? Did the breeder keep you updated, or did you find out you were getting a puppy after the litter arrived?
Hi there :) Iβm asking because like lots of us, Iβm the only person I know with a keeshond lol she is my first Kees but my second dog (her big sister is a collie).
My pups like to play together and chase each other and all that stuff, but my Kees has always been thoroughly disinterested in toys with the exception of playing tug of war. Despite our efforts she has no concept of playing fetch (a favourite activity for my collie), she tries to understand but it just doesnβt seem to make sense to her lol has anyone had success teaching their pup to fetch?
But the reason Iβm posting is because she doesnβt seem to care about squeaky toys or most toys in general, which my collie loves, with the exception of some plushie toys that she snuggles, cleans and nibbles the stitching.
So yeah, how do yours play? Have any of you got experience comparing them to other breeds?
Would it be cruel to get a Keeshond if we live in warm weather climate (Phoenix, AZ)? More in comments.
Hey, We got our beautiful keeshond puppy (6 months old now) as both me & my partner's first dog, and have found ourselves reading up on dog body language & how to understand it.
We've found our boy to be showing a lot of anxiety signs when honestly he just doesn't seem anxious in the slightest. When playing games of tug he sticks his tail between his legs, sometimes stops to have an itch.
Sitting on the floor with him for cuddles? Yawns, lip licks, but if you move away/stop the strokes he'll nudge your hand with nose/stick his chin on you/move himself closer to you as in a 'why you stopped loving me?'
We're unsure if we got an odd ball, wildly misreading him or is it just a keeshond thing?
The other thing that makes our boy hard to read his emotions is his complete lack of tail wagging, we have a mission to get him to wag his tail once a day but it's basically only achieved with a brand new toy or tasty chew.
Anyone else found this?
As per the title, I was wondering whether anyone here has a Kees in Scotland? I would be happy to have a meet up so the pups can play :)
Hi everyone! I have a 6 mo Keeshond (so not full fluff yet, but we are getting there!) He had a lot of fun at the dog park where he proceeded to wrestle with another dog in the powdery dirt.
He has been taken to the groomer once a month since I got him so he knows what a bath is. I brush him if not daily almost daily so no matts and the only negative feed back I get from the groomer is that he is nervous around the nail grinder.
If I have to, I will take him again this month but it would be a little tight, I want to give him a bath at home (I take my own shampoo/conditioner normally anyway. We use IOD Lush coating line) but I am worried about him drying and forming matts.
Tips and advice is appreciated, thank you!!
Hello everyone! I currently have a 2 year old female Keesie and Iβm looking to add another one to my family! Does anyone k now a reputable place/breeder to get a Keeshond? Puppy or adult it does not matter!
Hi! Iβve researched this breed extensively and think they would make great service animals. Iβve never bought a dog from a breeder before and donβt know where to start. Iβve always had mixed breeds, so I wasnβt as concerned about them having health issues. For instance, my last service dog was a Lab/Weimaraner mix. My heart was completely shattered when she crossed the rainbow bridge, and Iβve been struggling immensely without her. Can anyone recommend a reputable breeder that breeds ethically and is knowledgable about breeding practices to reduce the possibility of health issues? Someone that is truly passionate about the breed and not a backyard breeder, puppy mill, or kennel. Or even a breeder that has a grown Keeshond that would be a good candidate for service work? Thanks so much in advance for all your help! I really appreciate it!
Willow got diagnosed with IBS and right now Iβm looking for options on how to switch up her diet and curious if thereβs some other Keeshondβs in the group with sensitive stomachs and their remedies
She had been eating FreshPet chicken formula with a little kibble, salmon oil and a joint supplement. So I think Iβm going to swap out chicken and see?
HAS ANYONE HAD ANY LUCK WITH A RAW DIET?
My fiancΓ©e and I just moved to new haven. We have two dogs. Can anyone give a recommendation for a great vet. We have had VCA before and have liked them. But not considering cost or anything (they both have insurance), who are some good vets?
I realise this is a shot in the dark, but wanted to check.
So, my grandparents were Keeshond breeders in the UK, they had to stop breeding in the late 80s due to a pretty messy divorce. Their kennel name was Silberne. Their most successful dog was Silberne Cavalcade, who has a trophy named after him in the UK Keeshond Club. I'm not sure on the Kennel names of their other dogs, apart from Silberne Krafti and Silberne Over Draft (my childhood dog).
What I want to ask is, does anyone have a keeshond that has Silberne ancestors? I know it's a long time in dog generations so it probably won't show up on the Kennel club pedigree any more, but I'd love to be able to show my mum and my grandad that their bloodline is still around.
