A list of puns related to "Jamie's Comfort Food"
I have several
Peanut butter - tasty and high in nutrients such magnesium, B vitamins, healthy fat and protein, i could eat straight out of the jar, and i always add it to smoothies and oatmeals π
Baked oatmeal (auntie's recipe) - yesss, is similar to lava brownie but healthier, the texture and cocoa flavor just brilliant π©π
Semolina - one day my crush reminded me about this ambrosia and he got me frkn hungry!!! The texture, the way u can mix it with so many things such as jam,... i just missed eating it so much π©π©π© am definitely making some tomorrow

I've had a hard few weeks and want to treat myself with the ultimate comfort food. Where would you go and what would you get if you were me? Can be anywhere in Calgary or Airdrie! Thanks π
It's been a rough start to the new year for me: sister is in hospital for COVID, the septic tank backed up and made a mess, work has been wilder than usual, etc.
So I made tomato soup and grilled cheese. For me cooking is therapeutic: it's grounding, distracting, and soothing. And I find that particular meal deeply comforting. So when I'm stressed I make tomato soup from scratch and buy fancy cheese and bread to make fancy grilled cheese with.
Sometimes comfort foods are the right brand of chips or the best take out. Sometimes it's a family recipe. Or something you made so many times you could do it in your sleep. Sometimes it's just whatever has the highest cheese content (WHY is cheese so gahd damn comforting?! Idk, but I need it).
What are your comfort foods in times of trouble?
Thinking mashed potatoβs rotisserie chicken/steak, baked Brussels sprouts kinda vibe.
A nice view would be nice!!!
Hi.
So, my mom has been feeling sick lately and we think itβs the virus. Sheβs a nurse and has a night shift, when she is too tired to cook I help her with it. I have an older brother but heβs not very good at it, he rarely cooks (unless itβs a quesadilla).
I want to help her as much as possible during this time, while also making her yummy food. Could you guys help me? Thanks a lot. π€π€
Edit: I want to say that Iβve read every single suggestion/idea. Thanks to everyone who took the time, you are all so kind and thoughtful for wishing my mom a good recovery. Though Iβve never heard of some of them, they all sound and seem (I looked them up) pretty good.
for me, it's probably boiled potatoes + sardines (yes, the canned kind)
I ate that a lot growing up so I associate it with maternal love :')
It does enough aesthetically and mechanically to set itself apart, but playing through this game I always get the feeling that Iβve played it before, and thatβs because I kinda have. Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, the Assassins Creed series, Shadow of Mordor. The modern open-world collectithon-style games with a fixed protagonist. Iβm not saying thatβs a bad thing at all, because I genuinely love these games. Theyβre always so familiar that I can just jump right in and know exactly what to expect. Not much for innovation, but they do just enough to feel fresh each time, at least to me, and I have no problem putting on those familiar slippers every once in a while!
I can watch Frasier all day every day. It's ironic that when I am feeling low, I just turn on an episode (any episode) and the world is okay again. My kids think it's crazy, my husband completely understands.
I drink about on average 12 cups of tea a day. I also like frozen fruit like these smoothie packs with very cold fruit. I eat like 1.5 packs of that almost everyday.
Honestly how dare he
