Here's the recipe:

I was just thinking about how I get so full so quickly from the dish and then I made the connection that it's high in fat and low in carbs. I suppose I could be wrong about how "keto" it really is, so if I am let me know and I'll delete.
Itβs become very popular to bash Jamie Oliver these days, with the fried rice incidents of his. People are (rightfully) pointing out how that his food is not authentic this or authentic that. And the outrage seems to be exacerbated by the UKβs long and horrible history of colonialism. Like, Β«you stole our spices and now you butcher our foodΒ». But I think people are judging him on the wrong premise. I donβt think making authentic dishes has ever been his point. Most people in the UK are very normal working class people with poor diets. Whose worlds are their local communities, and they do what they can to get by. And these normal, busy people are Oliverβs target group. Heβs a champion when it comes to public health, and his goal is to get the public to make their own food and eat healthier. For them, chilli jam and soy sauce is probably exotic enough. So adding soy sauce to a dish makes it Β«AsianΒ». Because thatβs how it is to the people heβs speaking to. Had he gone full authentic, it wouldnβt have served the purpose at all, as nobody would have bothered. His shows arenβt meant for British Asians with a strong knowledge of the cuisine of their country of origin. And I donβt see how thatβs offensive or wrong.
Iβm a massive foodie, and I would never go to Jamie if I wanted to learn how to make for example pad thai. Cause his recipes arenβt meant for that, theyβre not meant for foodies who want to spend an entire Saturday making the perfect dandan noodles just as the locals do it.
I just came across an episode of Gogglebox where a Jamie Oliver show was on, and I think the gogglersβ reactions speak for themselves. He manages to get them excited and curious about the food heβs making, and thatβs a win in my book.
Went to make fish cakes for the kids yesterday, halved the amount of salt he put in his recipe, and the kids refused to eat it as it was still too salty. All his recipes seem the same... even the sweet ones
So a couple of years ago I watched a cooking show with Jamie Oliver. At least Iβm 90% sure it was him. He made these wraps with fried crispy black beans and a sauce or a salsa. To make the sauce, he mixed a big bunch of fresh coriander with some type of βpickledβ jalapeΓ±o. He used some of the liquid from the jalapeΓ±o can to.
Of course there where other ingredients than stated above, but those are all I can remember for sure.
Do you think Jamie Oliver is aware of Uncle Roger and of how much/often he is being roasted.
If so, what do you think is Jamie's opinion of this.
