A list of puns related to "Hydrogen cyanide"
Hey,
Been thinking of quick and painless suicide methods and I think I have one?
I watched a NileRed video on YouTube where he makes hydrogen cyanide from bitter almonds by crushing and mixing the almonds in water and letting it sit in a closed container. He had a cyanide meter in the container and it was detecting quite a bit of cyanide and he also confirmed that it smelled like cyanide when he opened the container and sniffed it. Almonds and apricots are closely related and apricot kernels also have large amounts of cyanide in them (in the form of amygdalin) so I reckon this method of creating hydrogen cyanide will work with apricot kernels as well.
The method:
If you crushed up an entire bag of bitter apricot kernels (typically contains 200-300 nuts), poured them into an empty gallon water jug, pour in just enough water to cover the kernels, mix it all up, close the lid and let the whole thing sit for half an hour, I'm pretty sure you'd end up with a very lethal amount of hydrogen cyanide in the jug. All you'd have to do then is open the lid and stick your nose into it and take real deep breath.
Unfortunately, I don't have a chemistry/biology background to determine whether this method is actually sound. I also can't test this out and report my findings on reddit cuz if it works.. then you know.. I'd be dead.
But yeah, if someone could confirm whether this will actually work, please let me know. I already bought the kernels
I mean it's a simple molecule, should be pretty easy for an animal to synthesize, and is highly potent and fast-acting. It's even effective with just skin contact. Seems like the perfect venom but to my knowledge it doesn't really occur in nature for this purpose. Why?
If you know give me link of it
my search history is fucked
I'm probably on a watchlist but that meme is funny
The Grand Canyon state of Arizona is preparing to execute its death row inmates by using hydrogen cyanide they have also βrefurbishedβ the state's mothballed gas chamber using "primitive techniques."
The GOP controlled stateβs Department of Corrections spent more than two grand on ingredients for the lethal gas, the Guardian reported, citing partially redacted documents it gathered through public records requests.
It should be noted that the gas is the same as Zyklon B, which is the gas that the Nazis used at Auschwitz and other extermination camps.
The items included in the DOC purchase included a solid brick of potassium cyanide, sodium hydroxide pellets, and sulfuric acid, according to the Guardian.
The state also βrefurbishedβ a gas chamber in the town of Florence, Arizona, a town about 61 miles southeast of the capital of Phoenix, AZ where the chamber was built in 1949 but had not been used for 22 years, the Guardian added, citing the documents it obtained.
"The windows and the door of the mothballed facility were checked to ensure a tight seal, drains were cleared of debris and a smoke grenade was ignited to simulate the gas," the report added.
"Some of the measures used to test the chamber were extremely primitive, including checking for gas leaks with a candle, whose flame was observed for flickers."
In December 2020 the chamber was said to be βoperationally ready,β the Guardian said.
Hydrogen cyanide is the same chemical that the Nazis used at Auschwitz and other extermination camps.
The State of Arizona has not carried out any executions in over seven years. The last one being in 2014 when the state botched the execution of Joseph Wood. It took them two hours and 15 injections before Wood was finally declared dead.
In April 2021, the Guardian reported that the state of Arizona spent $1.5 million on a batch of pentobarbital, a sedative it now hopes to use as its main method of lethal injection.
Inmates on Arizona death row who opt for the gas chamber, meanwhile, should think about the last time a person was gassed by the state.
Walter LaGrand displayed βagonizing choking and gaggingβ during his 18-minute long execution in 1999 according to a Tucson, AZ Citizen.
βThe witness room fell silent as a mist of gas rose, much like steam in a shower, and Walter LaGrand became enveloped in a cloud of cyanide vapor,β the Citizen reported.
βHe began coughing violently β three or four loud hacks β and made a gagging sound before falling forward,β

It's just ridiculous
Edit: Forgot to mention that 0 of the legal carts tested came up positive

like it wasn't enough to keep dinosaurs down there... they're all like "oh, lets keep some random hydrogen cyanide down here too!" with no plot at all leading up to that!
like... what?! does chris prat use it to keep his face in a constant state of paniced annoyance or what?
Telling you this whenever you come up with this chemical you need eye protection gloves a whole body suit and a mask so also keep your gear for vids and high valuables in a safe spot or take it home because this is bad your problem only would get worse.
TL;DR: What type of filter should i use against hydrogen cyanide? Other relevant information?
Hi, i'm welding steel coated with polyurethane based coating. Correct me if i'm wrong but i've managed to find out that this produces hydrogen cyanide gases. I'm not very well aware of the specific dangers of hydrogen cyanide but from what i've researched it a extremely toxic gas.
Since im relatively uninformed in this matter i want to take things conservatively.
Needless to say i've gotta weld that steel so i'm asking you for help in protection or other relevant information.
I have made a ventilation system that extracts most of those gases, however i would also like a filter mask.
So my question, what type of filter should i use for hydrogen cyanide?
