A list of puns related to "Hot tub folliculitis"
So last week, my wife looked at my tight ass and asked....do you have Chicken Pox? Well, I was very surprised to find that my ass and part of my back was covered in small red marks. No pain or itch.
I came to the determination that I got Hot Tub Rash. Ugh. I thought I had my sanitizer down...........but I would test and adjust on Monday and Fri. Usually I use the tub every night. I realized that by Weds, the sanitizer was almost used up and I need to add shock on Weds to keep up my levels.
So my lesson: Shock often and wash out your suit and take a shower after a long soak!
I'm banned from the hot tub until this clears up. I think I got 3 more days of being banned. It will be a loooonngg 3 days.
Hey guys, so we got a spa a few years ago and have emptied regularly and kept chemicals in check.
We had to empty during a renovation and refilled a few months back. After filling and getting the chemicals right we found we were getting lumps under our armpits and a few other symptoms that we were pretty sure indicated hot tub folliculitis (thanks google). They were really sore and we felt pretty crap but went away after a few days and I emptied the spa and started again. I washed the filters but didn't have any new ones so I had to reuse them (still waiting on a delivery of new ones, taking ages due to COVID).
Well about 2 weeks after re-fill and we've got the lumps again... We use it pretty regularly but I've kept chemicals balanced. It has an oxygen filter so we only have to use a tablespoon of sanitiser a week but I gave it some shock a few days ago.
It wasn't doing this to us in the first two years we used it. Am I doing something wrong? We're using it almost daily and I'm wondering if the bacteria is in the filters I'm reusing or left over after I emptied. I've heard the bacteria can be difficult to get rid of. It also seems to get cloudier quicker than usual. Our young kids use the spa too so we are pretty keen to get it sorted before it starts affecting them too (no symptoms from them yet).
Any help or advice appreciated.
Ok so I'm a 19 year old male and my whole life I've never had body acne/spots. However a month or two ago I stayed in my friends hot tub for 3 or so days I a row. Soon after this my body was covered in spots and after a quick Google search I concluded I had hot tub folliculitis, all my friends had it too. For my friends the spots cleared up within a week and on the most part mine did too. However since then I still always have a few spots. It's not too bad but it's just that I've never had any spots at all before I went in that hot tub and although they're no where near as bad as they were that first week it's still annoying and I'd like to be completely clear for my holiday. Any advice on how to get clear and has anyone had similar experiences with persistent spots after hot tub folliculitis?

My wife and I knew nothing about hot tubs when we asked our landscaper if he could build one. He has done some wonderful work for us in the past: concrete, retaining walls, artificial turf etc. We trusted himโeven consider him a friendโand he said he would be honored to build a hot tub for us with *four jets.* We'll come back to them in a second.
Along the way there were many red flags I ignored, chiefly when my neighbor asked about the filter and I said there wasn't one.
The first part of the job was stellar, he demolished our awful DIY concrete side yard to lay new cables form the breaker box, and a water line and drainage line (not sure if those last two were necessary now...). He re-concreted the side yard and it looks like a million dollars.
Now the tub itself. He excavated and laid out what looked like deeply intricate pipework. Then came the concrete. Beautiful! And the tiles. Gorgeous.
But then there was the water heater, which seemed odd. And the chat about heating the water by pumping some out (there is a drain in the bottom which leads to a pump to our waste water line) and filling it back up with hot water. Like a bath. This all seemed weird but we had faith in his vision.
Last Friday, a lightning bolt hit me. He showed me the 'jets' by twisting a water line open which made four hosepipes spurt out water from the walls. This definitely did not seem right. I Googled 'how do hot tub jets work?'
I'm sure you all know the answer to this question: they need air. I fell down a rabbit hole which confirmed what my gut already knew: we do not have a hot tub in our yard. We have a huge bath tub.
As far as I knowโand please correct me if I'm wrongโwe will have to empty this hole after every use and refill it next time. With no filter, inline heater, air compressor and actual jetsโnot to mention a skimmer(?) we will at any one time have an empty hole or a pool of dirty water.
He was meant to come back on Monday to do the final task: surface the seats and floor. But we texted him on Sunday with these major concerns (the jets and the filter to be specific) and he said he would like to talk to us in person. It is now Tuesday evening and he has not been back.
I have lost sleep and had at least one nightmare.
I would like some advice, please. Am I correct in thinking we have a huge problem and three *expensive* solutions:
1/ Excavate/demolish a large amount of dirt and concrete to install the correct pipework and systems.
2/ Fill the hole comple

Ever since I started hitting puberty, I have always had lots of inflamed whitehead-looking things on my butt. 5-20+ at any given time, of varying sizes. They get worse when I sweat a ton, particularly while wearing jeans, but they're pretty much always there. For a long time, they made me feel anxious about getting naked; I got over it, but it has definitely been both emotionally and (to a lesser extent) physically scarring.
I remember 13-year-old me in mostly-pre-internet days trying all kinds of ridiculous things to get rid of them, none of which worked. I somehow got the impression that there was nothing I could do about it. At some point, I learned that they're folliculitis. Still under the subconscious impression that it was incurable, I'd occasionally ask my GP about it or Google it. I remember a doc once saying that he thought it could be resolved and I vaguely remember the words "antibacterial soap" among other things. But I remember thinking that I had tried it, so I never pursued it. This childhood idea (and probably some body issues from growing up) had totally clouded my perception of the issue.
Three weeks ago, I had a weird skin thing on my hand, so I went to a dermatologist. We hit it off, she immediately figured out my weird hand thing, and I remembered to ask her about my butt. "Oh, just get [insert highly-recommended-by-dermatologists brand] soap, use it daily, and it'll probably resolve in two weeks." Ok, great. I was skeptical, but what the hell. It's just soap, and I'd never tried that brand. Why not? Ordered a bunch online.
Three weeks later, just switching soap and showering daily like I always do... I HAVE A PRETTY NORMAL BUTT. My angry red friends are gone. Seriously. 95%+ resolved.
What. The. F&*k. Was. Wrong. With. Me. (I actually know the answer to that, but still.)
ETA: The above-mentioned soap that worked for me: Cetaphil deep cleansing bar soap.
TL;DR: Suffered from folliculitis for several decades, only learning in my 40's that it's easily curable with certain types of over-the-counter soap.
Edit: Hopefully we won't feel the need to by then

Hot Tub Mine Machine
Looking to get away for a few days and would like to drive out to the coast. Iโm trying to find a hotel that has a private hot tub on the patio but Iโm not having much luck. Anyone have any recommendations? Looking to not have to drive more than 4-5 hours out.
Thanks!

So I pass this place on an almost daily basis and it always appears to be busy and the website and pricing just seems off for it to be that busy. Is there something else going on or is it basically just a place to rent a hot tub for an hour or two?
