Ingredients for 12 pieces
- 30 g coconut oil
- 80 g erythritol
- 200 g unsweetened tahini
- 10 g coconut flour
- 20 g chopped almonds
Melt the ingredients on low/medium heat. Turn the heat off before adding chopped almonds.
Keep it in the fridge for 3 hours before serving.
Has anyone ever worked with or come across a formulation for traditional Turkish halva like the one in this video?
You all were so helpful with my question about taro buns, so here goes.
I usually buy (fresh, not dried) dates from King Soopers but they are often dried out, as they aren't packaged well, and I don't know how old they are.
I figure the best dates come from a middle eastern or halal market like Arash, but do any of you have opinions on brands or stores?
And since this is a twofer, what's your favorite halva, and who sells it? I'm looking for plain/vanilla, not marble, but I do enjoy traditional halva as well as that made from other seeds (for example, sunflower seed halva is pretty good, although I haven't found it in Denver).
