A list of puns related to "Gap junction"
Yeah, that'll teach me to wait 10 minutes for not a single car to be in sight on one of the busiest roads in the area, wanker.

Astrocytes have strong control over neuronal excitability and this astrocyte influence are subject to change. Onodera et al. demonstrated that first-time exposure to only brief periods of epileptiform activity resulted in alkaline pH shifts in astrocytes, in gap junction uncoupling, in the hampering of potassium clearance, and in the intensification of epilepsy. Inhibition of this plastic change of astrocyte function could become a promising therapeutic strategy for countering epilepsy development. This international collaboration was carried out mainly between Ko Matsui lab in Tohoku University and Christine Rose lab in Heinrich-Heine-UniversitΓ€t DΓΌsseldorf using the Young Glia framework.

just wondering, what is a normal gap between the average gpu temp and the junction temp. when my gpu temp is at 60c, the junction temp is 95c at 80% gpu usage...
As title says
I was wondering about this, I know there are gap junctions in muscle cells thru intercalated disks but i was a little confused about t-tubules. I figured they were gap junctions but how did they fit in with the intercalated disk?
desmosomes - provide strength by anchoring the cytoskeletons, specifically the intermediate filaments. important if there's mechanical stress. ex. skin, muscles
gap junctions - communication. protein channels called connexons. only ions and small stuff may passively go through. important for synchrony, like coordinated activity. Heart (Cardiac) and Smooth Muscle
tight junctions - prevent paracellular pathways. prevent water and other solutes from going in between cells. skin, GI tract
