Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin recently burned 410 trillion Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens. The value of this amount goes up to 7 billion dollars. Buterin initiated the burn transaction after donating 50 trillion SHIB, worth around $1 billion at the time of the transaction, to the India COVID-Crypto Relief Fund.
After a recent dump in the price of SHIB, Buterin decided to burn 90 percent of the SHIB tokens in his wallet. This makes up 41 percent of the SHIB’s total circulating supply. Immediately after this was done, SHIB’s price shot up by 40 percent.

When the cases for manipulating GME start I'm sure there will be more than a million letters proving aggravated circumstances.
Some hedge fund founders are probably shitting their pants now after reading this.
I think this is pretty huge confident booster for me. Not sure what everyone else thinks. I know we all complain a lot about SBC and insiders selling. The fact that Peter Thiel who already own 16% of the company (see 1.) is buying more via his fund give me to confidence in the company. Now at least I know the bruh is not trying to pull the rug on us

Co-Founder Of Hedge Fund Charged With $40 Million Securities Fraud Scheme
Audrey Strauss, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Philip R. Bartlett, Inspector-in-Charge of the New York Office of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (“USPIS”), announced today the arrest yesterday afternoon of ANDREW FRANZONE, the founder and former general partner of FF Fund I L.P. on charges of securities fraud and wire fraud for his role in a scheme to fraudulently induce more than 100 investors to invest approximately $40 million in his fund by, among other things, lying about the fund’s investment strategy, liquidity, and amount of assets under management. FRANZONE was arrested yesterday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on a criminal complaint (the “Complaint”) and will be presented before a magistrate judge in the Southern District of Florida.
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said: “Andrew Franzone allegedly promised his clients access to his successful liquid trading strategy and consistent, positive trading returns. As alleged, those promises were lies. Franzone lied about his fund’s investments and performance, and he lied in promising clients that they had could readily access their invested capital. While his investors lost money, Franzone enriched himself. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to protect investors from these types of deceptive practices.”
USPIS Inspector-in-Charge Philip R. Bartlett said: “Mr. Franzone allegedly misled investors to believe his fund was liquid and he could cover their redemption requests, in a scheme to lure them in to investing in his hedge fund. This should be a reminder that greed has no boundaries and does not care about a favorable portfolio. Postal Inspectors remind all investors to thoroughly check offers, and if they sound too good to be true, keep your money in the bank.”

I've been looking for the most impactful environmental charities to put my money, and the Climate Change Fund looks like the best option. I could donate to the individual charities, but this seems better since it's managed and allocates the funds more optimally than an individual lay investor like me probably could.

I posted this as a meme yesterday but apparently some people don't do their own research and immediately think something is a scam because the word "donate" is in there. Yes, there are many scams on subreddits and throughout the internet so please always do your own research first. Don't blindly trust mine either, look stuff up on your own. Hi All!
We have a team that is exploring an investment strategy in a relatively illiquid market. Our team has extensive prior experience getting high returns in this market with a fundamental strategy but we think it can be substantially improved with a quantimental strategy.
We are looking for somebody with 10-20 hours a week to help with financial modeling and backtesting. Our lead developer/tech advisor is a brilliant dev who built the data science team at a multi-billion dollar hedge fund. He is helping with the strategy, but he only has an hour a week so is not able to do the nitty gritty (spinning up AWS, getting all the data ready, then doing many rounds of modeling and backtesting). He knows exactly what needs to be done, but we need somebody with the time and skills to help as he only has an hour a week or so. We also have a Harvard PhD who built and sold a fintech company and two portfolio managers.
Our goal is to spend no more than 2-3 months on modeling and backtesting based on some specific hypotheses we want to test. If our hypothesis is correct, then we will raise a small fund (probably 1-3 million dollars to start) to implement it. We have access to the capital immediately if the modeling is successful.
Must Have:

excellent knowledge of statistics/econometrics/quant-finance (they almost certainly code in Python or R)

experience working with AWS, setting up instances and using it as a database
Nice to Haves:

finance background and/or proficiency with financial data including order information, price data

spent a couple years in a quant role at a hedge fund. Sell side quants could also work.
