A list of puns related to "FanFiction.Net"
What the title says. FFN has been going through a lot lately, what with the stats crash and all, so let's make up for it by sharing our FFN fics with each other and spreading the love!
If you post your fic in this thread, you must read and review fics from at least three other people. Make sure your reviews are at least a sentence long too!
Have fun! I'll be posting my own fic in the comments as well!
I check the reviews on some fanfiction I read and holy crap.
I saw someone saying that the fic was awful garbage and if they wanted a good fic, to check out THEIRS.
There was also one time where I saw comments of someone review-spam a fic I was re-reading, and they said they hated it, do not read it, and said it's well-written but cringy.
None of these have any sort of concrit at all. Everyone knows they're acting like POS, so just why?
And I never see these comments in Ao3 or Wattpad (I haven't been there in years though so it might've changed) so why the hell does FFN have it? And for every bad comment, there are always ten nice ones, but that's still a terrible ratio.
I am debating moving more fics from fanfiction.net to AO3. But, I admit to two problems.
I have like over a hundred fics.
Many of my older fics are... Cringe. I am embarrassed just thinking of them. How bad? Dbz bondage. π
Any tips and should I save my more embarrassing fics?
Edit:. Thanks for the advice. My plan is to slowly get fics from fanfiction.net to AO3. A few fics at a time. Any that is not complete, I will keep on my own database.
well i hardly look at these sites so is there something interesting that is not on spacebattles or sufficient?
I've been getting this error page whenever I try to check my story stats. I read in some other posts that this is normal around New Year's, but it's been going on for about a week for me. Has anyone had this issue recently and been able to resolve it?
Thanks in advance!
So, this old error strikes again, and like every time, I'm sitting here wondering whether I'm the only one experiencing this.
Someone, please tell me it's not just me?
It happens so often to me and it only ever happens on this site, you know the CAPTCHA thing? Does this happen to anyone else? I don't think it's a malware issue.
I'm hoping to write more stories and improve along the way.
There's a few fics on fanfiction.net that I am quite attached to and wish to archive in the event that they get deleted so I won't lose them permanently.
Since I can't just copy and paste the text into a word doc due to the formatting, I was wondering if you guys knew any avenues to save a fanfic onto my computer as a sort of backup.

Every now and then there's an issue of some sort with the site, and 98% of the time, the admins won't acknowledge it; they'd just fix it after a couple of days and leave it at that... only for it to pop back up again in a few weeks or months, and for the cycle to repeat itself.
However, since around October 22, people with Outlook emails (and now, other emails too) have stopped receiving email notifications from FFN. Now, anyone who's used FFN will know that this is a frequent occurrence on that trainwreck of a site, but apparently this time it's much worse. Apparently FFN's gotten itself blacklisted by Microsoft for whatever reason, and now the admins need to fill out a form and send it to Microsoft for them to investigate it.
Another issue that's been affecting people is the site going mad with constant Cloudflare checks, as documented here and here.
Problems are to be expected with a site this old and large, but the biggest issue is, the admins don't seem to care one bit. The only avenue of communication with them is through the FictionPress twitter account, but their tweets are sporadic and robotic, and they completely ignore the mass of complaints people send their way. They also haven't tweeted anything since September 23.
I'm not asking for them to be on there every single day replying to tweets, but a little transparency would be appreciated. Maybe a short tweet saying they're aware of the problem and are working to fix it. Anything would be better than radio silence, just to reassure people that they're there, and their problems are being heard.
I crosspost to AO3 as well, and I wouldn't have this much of an issue with FFN's crumminess if there wasn't such a large discrepancy between their user bases, but sadly, that isn't the case. On FFN my current fic has over 5k followers and 2.3k reviews. On AO3, that same fic has 91 bookmarks and 68 comments. I would love to be able to post on a fully functional site with admins who regularly maintain it, but the interest in my fic on there is only a fraction of what it is on FFN.
From what I've seen, AO3 is a more romance-focused site better suited for newer fandoms, while FFN is more appreciative of more general fics and older fandoms - which is what my fic is. As frustrating, and outdated, and
... keep reading on reddit β‘does anyone know if fanficauthors.net is planning on staying up for much longer? I've noticed that almost everybody is pretty much inactive on the site. If anyone has any information or can help me get in contact with any of the authors on there, I'd love it. I'm mostly curious because I'm wanting to keep the stories around and possibly transfer some (if not all) to ao3 or ff.
Hi! I made a video compiling a brief history of Fanfiction . Net and the state of the site in recent years. I thought y'all may enjoy it. https://youtu.be/aqkAE-hRH7w
I hear a lot of people say AO3 is better, but...from my experience, it seems....more smutty than FFN? There are also a lot of problems with Fanfiction.net that come more and more into light for me.
Anyone else having issues with FFN recently? I can't view my stats, or see the numbers of visitors move. I know people are visiting, but the numbers are not showing it.
Ok so I just uploaded a fic but when I do it pushs all my text to the left and even when I try to change it in the doc Manger it won't save my changes please help. Ps I use Microsoft Word and save it as a docx file.
Also, if you all feel like it, follow my social accounts, I posted them on my profile. But only do that if you liked the content, as I always say to everyone who follows me, don't feel forced to do so. My account name is the same on the two sites β AelianusRedgrave.
Hey y'all.
Quick question did Fanfiction.net purge recently? I was in the middle of a story the poof gone.
Hey there! So yeah.....I uploaded a fanfic at fanfiction.net, and it isn't showing up in the index. Like......it has been uploaded. I can open it with the link. But I can't see it in the index. Has this happened with anyone??
I unfortunately donβt think so. But if you can, could someone help me out?
I, thank goodness, wasnβt a mean reviewer when I was younger but I did get overexcited (perhaps obnoxiously so). So Iβd like to delete some pointless and/or cringeworthy comments Young Me made lol. And maybe just reviews with even worse English than I have now. And just have them be more organized.
So i recently gotten the idea of writing smut due to one of my favorite author, now that i posted it someone reviewed how smut isn't allowed anymore in ffn yet all the other smut of that series didn't have that review so,is smut not allowed or is it because am a bad writer?
Sure, it might be from some unfinished stories and long author notes. But a million words is still a million words. And I havenβt stopped there. It feels like a great milestone to pass.
So, I started my first ever fanfiction not too long ago and I uploaded it to Fanfiction.net. Ninety-four chapters later and I decided, hey, maybe It'd be cool to upload it to AO3 since so many people use it. But it's pretty confusing to me and in my opinion less user friendly than what I'm used to, especially with the invitation system which puzzles me. Now I'll admit, I think my bias has to do with the fact I used the former first. So I ask this: Which site do you prefer, and why?
Today i looked at a story on FFN and ended up finding the review section flooded with toxic and rude comments almost everyone was acting like a bunch of children over the story (i will not mention any names or any stories to prevent the situation from getting any worse (you know who you are and should damn well ashamed of your disgusting behaviour) there were anti-lgbtq comments and people hating the story and author (there's even a comment telling them to kill themselves) the fact that it's a fandom I'm in is even worse it's disgusting and awful behaviour and shouldn't be happening (i will not say who the author is to prevent anymore idiots going there and leaving awful comments)

On fanfiction the last month or so, I've dealt with the cloudware thing Checking to ensure the site was secure before switching pages. Annoying ten seconds but I can deal. Now though I had to actually check a box that I was human and click on pictures! Not just one set either. This is ridiculously stupid and frustrating! If I wasn't in chapter 48/60 of the fanfiction.net story I'd have moved on! Especially as it kept bumping me back! Wtf is going on!!
I was just reading a fanfiction when, suddenly this ad appears in between the lines of text. Super annoying. I have no problem with ads on the sides, just dont look at them, but in the middle of the text? Thats just too much, completely interruptes the reading experience and just looks bad visually. So, anybody know of a way to either turn this of, or a decent adblocker that i can use?
P.S. Its not one ad either, multiple per chapter, some even with only one or a few lines in between.
This might be one of the first attempts of a Summoning Japan Fanfic which uses the "X country gets summoned to the New World" Formula. Surprisingly the story ( Under the Gate Fic Category) is successful and had amassed more than a hundred reviews, follows and favorites, since its first publication in 2019.

As of now, the story is on hiatus, or possibly abandoned by the author.
I read this dramione fic on fanfiction.net years and years ago that had something to do with Hermione and Draco communicating via anonymous letters they left for each other in the Hogwarts library. One of them finds out the other is their anonymous pen pal because they see them with letter wax or something.
I have a point to prove to a friend and I've been looking for this story for ages and can't seem to find it. I'm beginning to believe that the author took it down, but this is my last desperate attempt. Please help?
Pretty much what the title says
I keep seeing those disclaimers at the top of several different stories. Have fanfictions been removed from the site before? I just thought that if a story was posted there that it should be assumed it is fan made content
Would anyone happen to know this? I'm looking for the fanfiction on the site that has been running/updated for the longest period of time. It doesn't matter if its completed or not.
Every time I try to open the app, it looks like it's trying to load for a few seconds, and then immediately crashes. I figured there was some kind of update that caused the problem, but I've been having the problem for over a day now without a sign of a fix. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Edit: The app is working for me now. It looks like an update messed it up, and another update fixed it. I didn't even do anything, I just waited.
I was reading through FanFiction.netβs rules and one of the rules stated that celebrity fanfics were banned from the site. Iβve also noticed that both Wattpad and Archive On Our Own allow celebrity fanfics with no problem. So with that being said, why is it that celebrity fanfics banned from FanFiction.net, but Wattpad and Archive On Our Own allow celebrity fanfics?
Hello, so for those who use FanFiction.Net you should probably all (or at least nearly all) be aware that we have a major problem with the bot not sending any kind of notification emails and itβs been happening for more then a week now without any reaction or answer from the staff. If any of you who suffer from this problem miraculously find a fix or receive an answer from the staff then please share it here.
Ps: please no troll with the usual: "fanfiction.net still exist lol" or "Just use Ao3 lol" there is still plenty of really good authors using fanfiction.net even though i read on AO3 too.
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question.
I never use Line breaks because they are a pain to remember to add in after I copy and paste the chapter from google docs. But I like the look of them and would love to use them, if its possible to add them into the google docs while I write that would be aces.
For now I just use a bootleg line break in the form of a Slash.
So I created this absolute monster of a story and am ready to post it. Made an account on both AO3 and ffnet, and found ffnet has this 12 hour wait time on it before you can post, which...okay.
So I published some stuff on just AO3 with the intention of going in today to get the same things up on ffnet and found out that the layout for posting is really confusing? Could someone please walk me through how to post things lol.
I made a story on Google Docs separated into 13 chapters. Ffnet is talking about uploading documents but then thereβs like a place where you can maybe put in text as well?? Is the doc manager where I even want to go to do this? The site sent me here after I went into new story...
Iβm also wondering about a few of the features of the site. AO3 lets you change the publication date of something and uploads automatically...does ffnet do that?
Iβm brand new to both these sites, and ffnet is really confusing to me...
β
Edit: I just uploaded my the first few chapters of my first ever story :00. You guys have been super helpful, so thank you so much for all your help with helping me find my way out of the cave.
(Uh btw is it normal for the copy-n-paste feature to just...not work? The uploading a document worked great, but I couldnβt get the copy-n-paste to work. :/)
