Experiences with Ohana CK-10 or with ordering/setups from Elderly Instruments?

I think I'm set on getting an Ohana CK-10 as my first ukulele. Elderly Instruments has it available, and the product page says it comes with their "expert setup". Does anyone have any experiences with the Ohana CK-10 or ordering/setup from Elderly? I'm mostly concerned with getting a properly setup uke (string height and even frets).

##Rapid Antigen Test Update [Provincial Testing Strategy Update]

###RATs [Rapid Antigen Tests] are now recommended for the following:

  • Test-to-work is a strategy to support work-self isolation in critical work shortages, in which staff are able to return to work when they would otherwise be on self-isolation at home (for example, after exposure to someone with COVID-19).

  • βœ”οΈ For people without symptoms as screening

  • Frequent, repeated rapid antigen testing of people who are asymptomatic and without known exposure to someone with COVID-19, with the goal of identifying cases that are pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic.

    • Includes healthcare workers subject to Directive 6, which requires unvaccinated staff in high-risk settings to undertake regular rapid antigen testing, now at an increased frequency of a minimum of twice weekly.
    • ❌ Not recommended for one-off use (e.g., before social events) due to the risk of false negatives.
  • βœ”οΈ For people with symptoms

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Trans people and the Didgeridoo

I’m a pre everything trans women (going on hormones in the next few months) would it be okay for me to play the didgeridoo?

I’ve looked it up and found this source (https://boundbyculture.wordpress.com/2014/09/24/a-mans-instrument-transgenders-and-the-didgeridoo/amp/) saying β€œIt was his knowledge that the women elders of theses areas were responsible for making the decision that women were not to play the didgeridoo. The reason he gave for this was that due to the necessity to circular breath while playing the didgeridoo it was actually causing to much strain on female’s abdominal muscles and causing them to become infertile.”

I would call it case closed at that but the source is 7 years old and I can’t find any other sources to back it up

If anyone could answer or point me in the direction of an elder (I am on Kaurna land if that would make a difference?) I’d be incredibly appreciative

D100 Interesting locations in Candlekeep the Library Fortress

I'm trying to build out a more complete list of towers and locations to have a more robust list of locations that my players can visit when they journey to Candlekeep. I have the book Eliminated Candlekeep companion and have pulled a few ideas from that. I will add a few examples from that book as well as a few of my own. Candlekeep can be pretty nuts so go crazy! No idea is too nuts

  1. Fyrentennimar- this tower was built within the hollowed out remains of an ancient red dragon named Fyrentennimar. Powerful magic protects the dragons body from decay. Along the ceiling are 5 taxidermied heads of chromatic dragons. One for each color. An elderly dragon born named Thava Norixius occupies this tower and is probably the foremost expert on dragons in Faerun.

  2. Arriene's Beastiary Spire- this spire is one of the taller structures in Candlekeep as it houses numerous beasts from around Faerun in order to study them. Arriene Goldcone is a female elf and was once a ranger. She has since retired and decided to dedicate her post adventuring life to studying the various beasts of Faerun

  3. A long hallway decorated with various artistic floating glowglobes. This glowglobes are each uniquely decorated and float around anyone that enters into the hall. No other light illuminates the hall.

  4. A talking brass door that refuses to open unless the party present it with some juicy gossip. The door doesn't care whether it is false or not.

  5. The Floating Step- this is a secret tunnel shaft that travels up the backside of the mountain that Candlekeep was built on. A single large slab of rock with a levitation spell built into it will travel up and down the shaft as a keeper wills. It can be used in case of emergency to escape Candlekeep and will allow for large quantities of books and scrolls to be taken down or up with it. The shaft has powerful glyphs written into its side walls that can be set off to destroy the tunnel in a last ditch effort to escape.

  6. The Port of Air- this is a place for flying vessels to dock their boats, ships and even animals. It has a stable suitable for all manner of flying creatures. This port also houses a few defensive ships that Candlekeep can call upon in case of aerial attack.

  7. The Architects Playground- this is a dome structured building houses an course on architectural studies. Within the dome, students can use magic to quickly build miniature models of buildings and then test them against real world physics. This building almost c

Why Strange Man is the devil behind the misfortunes of Armadillo, The Braithwaites, Butcher Creek and Bayou Nwa

The following elaboration will serve to display more plainly the fact that there is so much evidence that Strange Man is the devil himself that no other logical conclusion remains to be made.

This will be somewhat hard to bind together into one cohesive explanation, but I'll try my best. The intro will most definitely be boring to those who frequent this subreddit, so please bear with me.

Also, in order for the elaboration to remain consistent and easy to understand, certain parts of it will first be told accoring to the general perception, and expanded upon a lot more accurately later on.

Let's start with what is already commonly believed (not definitively proved):

In Strange Man's Bayou Nwa cabin, one of the inscribed messages says 'The moon will shine on in the darkness'. There is a character called Herbert Moon in Armadillo - the clerk in the general store. He is the only one who isn't stricken with cholera in the town.

Another inscription in the cabin states 'I offered you happiness or two generations, you made your choice', which is connected to the letter Herbert Moon received from his daughter, who is about to have a child (second generation).

The following conclusion is instrumental to the Braithwaite part of the theory:

So, Strange Man apparently offered a choice to Herbert, and Herbert made it. He chose particular personal gain (two generations) over happiness, and as a result, everything except that gain was taken from him.

Who's to say this happened only to Herbert Moon, and who's to say that his surname is the only thing referred to by 'moon' in the inscription?

There is, in fact, another, in some ways very similar story to be considered here.

Catherine's Deal

The following explanation is pure canon intertwined with the most logical possible events that took place between the canonical ones.

The Braithwaites had been a rich and powerful slaver family until their practice was abolished in 1865. Their rivals, the Grays, also suffered heavy financial losses, but they got a hold of Rhodes. They controlled the Rhodes Sheriff's office (the law) and saloon (alcohol distribution). The Braithwaites started producing moonshine, but couldn't actually sell it because the Grays controlled the local market. They tried expanding their zone of influence to make money selling it elsewhere, but were heavily outmatched by the uncontested moonshine producer and distributor Maggie Fike. At this point the B

Am I the only one who is tired of Beth Dutton and Jaime driving the narrative?

Your not alone. Her primacy in the season finale is like nails on a chalkboard at this point (Basically Monica).

She does and says the same things over and over and over again.

"Jaime stole my baby and I want to punish him"

"I will do anything to keep the ranch going for my father"

"I can never give Rip a real family" (No idea why this is the case by the way)

The most miserable problem with the character is that there is a way to make Beth interesting and they decide never to take it.

John Dutton outright told her to leave and suggested to her that her endless service to him was only wanted and appreciated when it complied with his whims:

This is exactly what Jaime learned(!)

Why Kaycee fled(!)

What Dead Elder Brother Ignored(!)

And what should ultimately be Rip's downfall(!)

What if she has just listened to him(!) Realized the master she serves only wants her for his own whims and despises her when those whims are not followed to the letter.

John Dutton exploits people (including his children) and uses power to subsidize his completely unsustainable (Money, Technology, Reality) lifestyle.

He uses criminals as goons because he has infinite power over them (He is Livestock Commissioner and he employs ex-cons???).

He indoctrinates Rip - a child - to believe that he has no agency or ability outside the narrow confines of the Yellowstone ranch. Then uses that child's myopic "miseducation" to murder people he deems a threat to his lifestyle. NOT HIS LIFE AND HIS CHILDREN'S LIVES - HIS LIFESTYLE.

This would be like Jeff Bezos running for governor using Amazon streaming for his campaign posters - then pardoning people he pays to murder his neighbors when they complain about how high he makes the fence around his pool.

For all his folksy - I am a simple grandpa, environmentalist - bullshit - he is a vile child beating murderer and criminal.

Ironically the only two people who figured this out are Jaime and Kaycee.

Kaycee knowns his father takes and takes and takes - which is why he had the good sense to leave. His return to the ranch was about "reforming it" and ending his fathers psychopathy. But as soon as the outside "threats" came in - the writers put Kaycee is in the trenches - which is why his character arch this season was like treading water. He is just tidying up his house while the plot movement has been completely left to Beth.

Jaime is the only other son who realizes that John is a monster and rightfully he lives in terror of him. How

Wait, is this just GATE? (42/?)

Previous / First

As James was eating his dinner that night, and drinking a large mug of dark ale with it, a messenger arrived. The messenger informed him that something had come through the door and was awaiting both he and the King. James thanked the messenger and then quickly finished his meal, stuffing the food in his mouth and chewing like he was back in training again. Then he downed the remainder of the ale and left for the summoning room.

When he got there the King and Princess were already waiting, as well as high mage Marcos and several royal guards. The King and Princess looked at him warily as he approached. James nodded.

It was very obvious that the princess had told her father about what James had said. There was an air of discomfort between the three of them.

"Evening, your highness." James said. "Princess."

"Mr. Choi." The king replied simply.

"So. What's going on in there now?" James asked.

"A box of some kind came through with notes on it. Marcos said that there was one for each of us. Though he's not as good with your language as Veliry is." Princess Amina answered.

"Oh. Well, what's in the box?" James asked. He kept the message on his phone to himself. In fact, he'd deleted it once he'd read it.

"We don't know yet." She answered. "We were waiting for you."

"Well. I'm here now, so let's see what it is."

The king agreed and the three of them entered. Several guards were standing around the box, and at the kings command they dispersed back to their posts near the walls. James couldn't help but notice that there were more guards near the wall. Some armed with shields and melee weapons, others with bows and crossbows. A few of them had no weapons, or at least none that James could see.

The box in question was, James saw, actually a rigid traveling case. The kind that a band might carry a small instrument in, or that a competitive shooter like himself might carry his weapons in. Spray painted on one side were green letters that read "UNITED STATES ARMY". Taped to the top of the case were two notes.

"Can I?" He asked the King.

The King, who'd been busy inspecting the case on one knee, looked at him. "Of course. What is this case made of?"

"Ummm." James started as he kneeled down to grab the two notes. "A material called plastic. Uh, not exactly sure how to explain how it's made. But

Struggling Heavily Socially at my MBA

I am an international student from India at one of the M7s. While things have been looking promising in the recruiting and academic front, I have been really struggling to make friends and be part of the social scene. I grew up in a very traditional Indian family where I only focused on engineering academics, and I do not have good social skills compared to my peers. My education system through high school and college reinforced this, and my role as an engineer was not one where I developed strong soft skills. My culture is also one where I was told by parents and elders never to talk back, and my education system prioritized rote memorization over creativity. "Fun" was never something I really did except secretly under helicopter tiger parents, and I never grew up playing a sport or having a cool hobby.

My hard stats were VERY GOOD, and I had strong leadership which probably helped my M7 admission. I am very nerdy, and my hobbies include Nintendo Switch video games, Japanese anime, movies, watching theatre productions, and talking about tech and politics. Back in India, I had a lot of fellow nerdy friends in STEM , and I have an engineering background. A main motivation for me is to increase my social skills at my MBA.

However, while I have been trying to put myself out there and getting to know people, it has been hard to connect with people. Both the culture shock of how different American culture is to Indian culture, and adapting to the MBA environment. Most people are much more extroverted, and socially smooth. I find myself either talking too little or too much, and when most people talk about things like racing marathons or skiing or DJing, I have little to relate to. I never took a "shot" of alcohol before my MBA in fact, I only drank alcohol very mildly in corporate functions. My MBA is diverse, but I feel the "cool kids" are mainly white people (I am not meaning this in a negative way), but I am not super acclimated to American culture outside of watching the Office and Friends.

I have never gotten invited to any MBA trips, and very few people showed up to an Indian cooking session I hosted in my apartment. People have said they think I am very nice, but probably don't view me as a "fun" one to be around. I have heard other people describe me as well meaning but socially awkward with poor fashion sense. I have tried playing tennis or doing improv or other things, but it seems all of my peers are much more socially developed than me. I like

Lecture for medical students on new galactic alliance species β€œHumans”

My second story on here. This one was fun to think up and i hope you enjoy the concept as much as I have.

β€œHello students. I am glad you are all here and congratulations on almost completing your final year at the Greater Galactic Medical institute”

Xen took a minute to finish taking in the gathered crowd of eager students form the fifteen or so species that made up the known galactic community.

β€œyou might not know me so to properly introduce myself I am Doctor Xen; I was part of the first contact team that for the past four years has been working with the humans on bringing them into our united group.”

At this many of the students started murmuring, xen had expected this. Humans were still new to much of the galaxy and were quite the topic of debate and wonder. Due to the fact that they came from Sol 3 a class 12B death world, No doubt the stories that they told and that were told of them supported this ridiculous notion. Soon the room quieted down, and a couple of students raised their hand as expected of young and inquisitive minds.

β€œPlease save your questions for later as my topic for today will hopefully answer some, and most likely give you ten-fold more than you had, as learning about humans usually tends to.”

At that many of the students did their equivalent of a nervous laugh, and those with their hands up put them down. A couple of seconds later the room was quiet.

β€œTo start off it is important that you understand something fundamental about humans that applies in every aspect of their lives, this is that there is no steadfast rule that can lock humans down. There are trends and things that are more common but there is always something that will bend or break that trend.”

The mutters from the room confirmed that many of the students had gathered this from the stories that had filtered out to the community about the absolute chaos that humans could bring.

β€œThat is not what I am here to talk to you about today. I have been brought here to give advice to all of you and a warning to some. You see after the usual diplomatic dance, when our peoples started sharing information with the humans, my medical team noted something unique about their body that sets them apart from all other known sentient peoples.”

Xen took a moment to look over the group gathered before him now as quiet as a statue, he knew that they were wondering what further oddity of the humans he was about to explain to them.

β€œThere is no definitive term for this yet

My name is Father Grey, and I'm an Exorcist. We let one slip through the cracks, and it was coming back to haunt us.

You can call me Father Grey, or Padre Grey. Awhile ago I began to share some of my stories from my years as an Exorcist. The continuation of this second, tragic story answers some questions but poses many more. If you recognize me or my nickname I ask you to please keep it private. As I tie up these loose ends you can begin your journey here.

...

CK walked next to Lavender, comforting her in her panic at our recognition of the figure on the screen. I continued to stare, taking in every feature and detail I could. It was unmistakable. The possessed figure in front of me was Dr. Harold Mangrove, the same man who had previously assisted us in the exorcism of the man in Chinatown. I slumped into an interior contemplation.

Like most fields, the practice of exorcism is one which no amount of theory and study can properly prepare you for. You have to be dropped in, boots on the ground and running full speed, to truly understand it. My own short studies in Rome, done over the span of a few months and entirely limited to lectures and classroom practia, seemed to be woefully inadequate. CK and I had, for the second time in a month, stumbled upon what appeared to be a genuine case.

After composing ourselves from the reaction of seeing Harold in the security footage we immediately conferred about his appearance. Even in my novicial state and watching through the grainy, slightly-unsaturated security footage I could recognize a telltale sign in his eyes. Eyes are the lamps of the body, the words of Jesus himself in the Sermon on the Mount. If the soul is in darkness the eyes will reflect it, and this is entirely true for the possessed.

Like the possessed man in Chinatown, Harold’s eyes were unnaturally piercing. His pupils seemed to be black holes, drawing everything in. The whites had become a characteristic off-white. Beyond that, the feeling which he imposed through his glance was something which the mind itself could somehow express - animistic panic from the deep recesses of the unconscious, the pervading feeling that those eyes belonged to something... false. Something only pretending to be human. Whether from a need to survive neanderthalic encounters, or a prevalence of the demonic, or some other horror entirely, at some point in ancient days before history was ever written our minds developed to recognize such beings - those which appear to be human...

  • is a good indication that you have COVID-19
  • does not need to be confirmed by a PCR test
  • does not need to be reported to a public health unit unless otherwise directed by public health

A negative result:

  • on a single test cannot rule out COVID-19 infection by itself
  • if you have symptoms, should be followed by a second test 24 to 48 hours later if available. If your second test taken within 48 hours of your first negative result is also negative, this most likely means you do not have COVID-19

Rapid Testing Kits can be purchased for at-home user at various retailers or online stores. You can also pay a pharmacy to administer a rapid test for you.

More free rapid test kits will not be available until later in January.
