A list of puns related to "Eid al Adha"
great now i have to pretend to give a fuck about this religion and its traditions that i couldn't careless about
Oman News Agency (ONA), said in a statement: "His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, it has been decided that the Eid Al Adha holiday will be for employees in the units of the stateโs administrative apparatus and other legal persons and workers in private sector establishments from Sunday 8 Dhu al-Hijjah 1442 corresponding to July 18, 2021 until Thursday, July 22, 2021."

There is no divine Allah present in the heavens and Muhammad made this religion at his own. One of the proof is to see how he was following the traditions of the era of ignorance. For example:
Sahih Muslim, Book of Pilgrimage:

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) reported that Allah's Messenger observed the Zuhr prayer at Dhu'l-Hulaifa; then called for his she-camel and marked (cut) it on the right side of its bump, removed the blood from it, and tied two sandals (shoes) round its neck. He then mounted his camel, and when it brought him up to al-Baida', he pronounced Talbiya for the Pilgrimage.
Imam Tirmidhi writes under this hadith (link):

Prophet Muhammad and Companions and other Scholars acted upon it (i.e. the custom of cutting the hump of camel, which is knows as al-Ishaโar), and they deemed it correct. This is the saying of Thawri and Shafiโi and Ahmad bin Hanbal.
Muwatta Imam Malik, Book of al-Hajj:

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar said, when nicking the hump of his sacrificial animal to brand it
Salaam all, I'm in the UK and planning to go on holiday this month in July, but I am not sure which dates Eid could possibly be on at the moment. Will it only possibly be on the 19th or 20th? Or is there a chance for it being on the 21st too?
Thanks for all help
Having watched philippine politics for the last 26 years, let me make a bold, yet calculated prediction : The Financial or Technical Assistance Agreement (FTAA) of Didipio mine involving Oceanagold corp is gonna be renewed shortly and this somewhat controversial announcement is gonna be made during a philippine national holiday as to avoid most of the news coverage. Duterte loves to do this even more than nearly all his predecessor (and they did this a LOT).
Why does this matter? Well you see, Didipio is the cheapest gold/copper mine to operate in the world. AISC $/ Oz was less than 500$. At ~1800$ gold price, you can easily guess why this is a giant cash cow. At a production rate of 120,000 gold ounces per year, this mine alone will double $OCANF revenue and with a much better profit margin. Effectively turning this stock story upside down. There's even a cherry on top of this renewal, OCANF has had a pile of concentrate at the mine it hasn't been able to touch since the FTAA expiry in 2019 on environmental grounds. Total value of that is around $50 million to $55 million worth of concentrate on the ground which will take about 6-8 weeks to process and sell. That alone 1/3 of last quarter revenue.
Oceanagold has been cozying up to the environmentalist for months and Philippine desperately needs to boost revenue due to Covid related expenses. A couple months ago this wasn't a fruit ready for picking but the time as come. At 1.96$ per share this is a bargain. You could say I very much like the stock.
Don't believe me? Wake up and smell the coffee brewing in Philippine
Stay tuned.
Eid Al-Adha (how people in my country refer to it) marks the tradition of sacrificing an animal, commemorating the day Abraham almost beheaded his son.
First of all, the whole concept of celebrating an animal's death, to me, is gruesome, especially knowing the backstory. But that's not the point here. I won't be discussing whether or not it's a humane way for the animal to go either.
Ever since I was little, I was made to watch the sheep get beheaded alongside other children who seemed to enjoy it. Call it what you want but that sight really scarred me, especially since I would hang around it and watch it live its little life beforehand, then be forced to watch it die. One instance especially still haunts me until know, when another sheep accidentally saw another get beheaded (from what I know it's haram killing a sheep in front of another but it happens) and completely panicked. I have yet to hear anything more horrifying than that poor thing's cries.
As I grew older, I refused to partake in this altogether. Every year now I lock myself in my room all day when it's eid because I genuinely can't handle the sight and smell. But still couldn't escape clips of important people beheading sheep broadcasted on TV, or friends sharing videos of how to kill a cow the islamic way.
I'm sure most people will disagree but to me, it being a more or less humane way to kill an animal, or a religious tradition, doesn't take away a bit from the gruesome nature of it. The way I see it , children shouldn't be allowed to watch, adults who don't want to partake shouldn't be forced to, and clips shouldn't be shared on social media and even less so broadcasted on TV.
Hello! I work for an online supermarket in the UK and would like to understand from the muslim community what people would typically shop for in terms of food products when celebrating Eid al Adha? I have done a little research and understand the focus is on a lamb or goat halal dinner, but what else would you purchase for this holiday? Thank you in advance!
Edit: that was meant to say โwhat foods DO muslims associate with Eid AlAdhaโ apologies!
Eid Mubarak to you all!
On this day of Eid Al Adha, when a billion Muslims celebrate by slaughtering millions of animals, I talk about what it was like growing up as a "Vegan Muslim".
#SpoilerAlert: It wasn't exactly a picnic.
I also talk about the frustrations I have with other vegans. It's a bit of a rant and covers a lot of ground in 5 minutes. But I can't be the only vegan who feels this way. In fact, I'm 100% sure I'm not.
