A list of puns related to "Breath of Fire IV"
I tried playing BoF IV and while it was working fine, when I reached the part where they set fire to the forest (~1 hour in) the image seems to be moving up, not changing, making the game an unplayable mess. It's hard to describe. I can open and use the menu just fine, but when I close it it goes back to being broken. I do not know what could be causing this. Is this a known issue?
Edit: Switching to Vulkan seems to fix it. I also realized that I hadn't said that I was using Beetle PSX HW.
Any questions please let me know. Looking to complete a few of my favorite games and get a few other random things.

Figured I'd drop my query here: I'm working on a personal art project (non-commercial use) and was wondering if anyone ever had any success with reverse engineering the breath of fire iv title font into a usable format, or created something very similar?
My goal is to print out individual letters in that font to use as one-time stencils to write a name on a little wooden plaque.
I did see a post by u/Pobbes from about a year ago on this topic, but not sure if they ever finished the project.
I'm aware the original is probably still under Capcom's protected copyright/trademarked IP umbrella, fwiw, so if someone has suggestions on how to create something very similar, I'm all ears.
I've seen a few posts recently and saw that people consider Breath of Fire III to be the pinnacle of the PS1 era. While part of me agrees, another part of me feels that IV didn't get enough love it deserved. Granted, the story wasn't as polished as III and felt a little rushed in some parts, but I feel that the overall experience was pretty enjoyable when it came to a variety of different things such as combat(particularly with the combo system), the overall world, mini games like fishing, etc. I don't have a preference for which is my favorite but I thought it would be a fun discussing point about which is people's favorites and why.

First, I apologize, I didn't think to post about this here until roughly two years later, but here we are.
Some context to keep things relevant. There will be a little personal story embedded here from myself with this series. Make no mistake, I love each of these games (including Breath of Fire IV) and it pained me greatly that no more would be made. What I created wasn't a replacement of that but it has interconnections that I thought would be cool to disclose and share specifically here.
My quick history with Breath of Fire as a series - I fell in love with the game in the early 2000's - my dad showed me an article in the regular copies of PC Gamer he'd buy and said to me "You'll probably like this one, it looks a bit like Shining Force." (Granted, he was probably trying to find a word for the anime asthetic at the time but it hadn't reached our household yet as we were still on dial up.)
He actually went out of his way to buy the game and try it out and then after his first session allowed me to take charge and start my own save file. I had a great time despite PC port issues, the classic F9 to fix issue might take some fans in this reddit back to that moment they were praying to Lady Myria that it would progress after the Chamba dream. I didn't have many games to play at the time so I perservered and found work arounds and ended up sinking over 500 hours into a single save file.
You might wonder why I took so darn long to finish the game, but I liked it - a lot. Kid me would load up the game like a kid playing with toys and make up stories in my head and go on adventures. You know, general kid stuff.
You might be saying now, hang on there buster, what about that *later* content for my age? Honestly it was fine. Kid me wasn't scared and I thought it was super cool that it went in some dark places no media I had absorbed at the time dared to tread. That sort of sums up my first experience. After that, I went high and low to seek the other Breath of Fire games using my own time and money - and here we are.
Disclaimer - I'm not a professional game developer and it probably shows with the results. I don't intend to profit from my hobby - I invest in it much like any hobby with no return on my part

Title says it all. Hoping to acquire some cases/manuals and get complete copies of a number of games I have. Thanks in advance for your help!
Despite my large PS1 JRPG collection, I missed these two back in the day.
I played BoF1 and 2 as a young person, and enjoyed them but found them a little rough around the edges compared to releases by Square.
I am, however, a HUGE fan of Dragon Quarter. So underrated.
So what do y'all think? Are either of them essential? What should I expect?
