Breast growth, pain/aching, east-west vs Tail of Spence? Trans mtf

Hi all, So I'm trans [mtf] and I have recently started HRT and I have some potential breast growth on the outside of my left breast/below my arm pit.. my arm keeps touching it and it never use to... but visually I cant see any difference

I have tried to have a look around online and on this subs wiki and from what I understand its called east-west or wide set.. or it might be it might be the Tail of Spence[?].. that said my breast growth has only just started.. and its only happened there [growth might be a strong word.. filling out/puffy might be better to describe it]

Question 1: I was just wondering if anyone could help with that kind of bra I would need? and if it will differ from east-west/wide set vs Tail of Spence?

-------

The second thing I wanted to ask about is breast growth/chest pain. [I'm really sorry if its not ok to ask here]

Like I said I started hrt a few days ago and from day 2 I started to get Very bad breast/chest pain and a lot of aching with some shooting pains.. mostly in my left breast/left side of left breast/towards my left armpit.

I have tried to make a pain map [the imgur link [clean drawing but might be nsfw]].. The pain didn't happen all at once [eg: at some point in the last 10 days I had bad pain in one of the red areas. eg: at some point in the last 10 days there was aching in part of the blue area].. any way hopefully It makes sense.

Blue = aching

orange = pain

Red = bad pain

https://imgur.com/a/yVZVsZ7

Question 2: In your opinion's is it growing pains? I have made a doctors appointment in case it isn't.

Question 3: Is there any kind of bra or support that can be used to help reduce said pains/aching?

-------

Please excuse me here as I really have no idea what I am doing sorry.. I have tried my best but its all very new to me.

In case its needed for some reason I think my underbust size is 34inch [86cm] .. or 36inch [92cm] .. not sure how high or low I am meant to measure as I have seen a couple of different 'guides' on how to measure it.

As for my bust size 37.5 [95cm]

.. I have had calculators come back as everything from 34A to 42AA.

Shoulders 44 inch [113cm] and waist 33 inch[84cm].. I cant see you will need either of them but I am unsure/ it might help gauge my true underbust size

Thank you

Breast discharge and armpit pain. Normal for peri?

41 and believe I am in peri. Have been having pain in my left armpit for about 10 days and the last few days a whitish yellow discharge from my left breast. Went to urgent care when the armpit pain first started thinking a swollen lymph node as I had a sore throat too but the urgent care said the armpit pain was probably osteoarthritis and to put arthritis cream in my armpit. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and hips so really doubt armpit pain is arthritis. It's not in a bone.

It's been 5 years since I breastfed my youngest child and I am not pregnant.

I sent a note in the patient portal at my pcp to see if they think I should schedule an appointment. I don't feel any lumps or anything. No breast cancer history in my family. My mom did have a hysterectomy for stage 1 cancer recently but no breast cancer.

I am assuming it's likely not anything serious but what could it be? Is this just a normal part of getting older and hormonal changes?

20F. This didn’t used to happen to me before but gyno said it was normal and due to getting older and having more hormones. I’m just getting sick of this and right now I feel really queezy imagining all the hormones and etc. 9 days before my period right now and my boobs feel so sore it hurts to turn to the side in bed even and it will only get worse. It goes away a couple days into my period and I don’t have breast pain until during/after ovulation. Does ANYONE ELSE have it for two weeks??? How do you deal??

How long were you in pain post breast augmentation ? πŸ₯Ί

Today is the third day post having my implants put in and first day not taking the strong pain medication as I'm trying to only take it at night or if I absolutely have to because of the constipating and addictive qualities but I'm sooooo uncomfortable, the pain doesn't compare to say a migraine but I'm extremely uncomfortable. There's no comfortable position. Roughly how many days after surgery were you able to move around without pain/discomfort? My implants aren't huge compared to the ones some girls get but they're big compared to my frame I suppose. Also I went semi under muscle(dual plane)

Breast/chest pain question?

Hey all, a couple of quick questions..

1: How long was it before you had pain around your breasts/chest after you started on hrt? [if you did have any pain]

2: Is it unheard of to have breast/chest pain 36-48 hours after starting hrt?

Only reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to work out if its pain from a long term muscular health problem I have.. or.. if its hrt related.. .. personally I am leaning much much more towards my health problem as I cant see that hrt takes affect that quickly.

Any input is welcome.

Thank you.

Breast and nipple pain

Does anyone else experience breast and nipple pain? Random sharp pains, aching, heavy feeling. Sometimes it’s constant, sometimes it’s not. But I’m mostly always aware of my left breast for the last 5/6 weeks. I feel the pain from my nipple, to the top of my breast (mainly on my left but occasionally spreads to the right) to under my arm. But mainly my breast. I don’t feel lumps and anything like that. I do believe it’s costo, which can be common with fibromyalgia. I had a mild case of Covid in august and have never felt the same after. Last week my entire chest had a burning sensation when touched, almost like an invisible sunburn. I’m just looking for some reassurance that others have also experienced something similar. All this coming on at once is causing me massive health anxiety. It’s almost consuming my life. I am so scared.

Does anyone have any suggestions of anything that can help with spinal fractures from metastatic breast cancer and/or bad burning stomach pain from chemo please?

My mom found out she has stage 4 breast cancer about 2 weeks ago and she now has 7 fractures in the mid area of her spine from the breast cancer spreading. She is currently not able to sit up or get up on her own. She has been in the hospital for over a week now because labs showed her liver levels were dangerously high (the cancer also spread to her liver) so they did emergency chemo on her without having her biopsy results back. Since the emergency chemo she had one treatment of radiation on her spine (they said they would do 5 total) and had to hold off on more radiation because she got a yeast like type of infection in her mouth from the chemo and now has a horrible burning in her stomach for the past 2 days (also from the chemo they think). They put Nexium in her port and it still isn’t helping her stomach. She just lays in the hospital bed all day feeling awful. They now have PT coming to try to get her up once a day to try to get some movement and strength for her to do her next chemo in a week (the doctor said that now that she started the emergency chemo she has to finish 4 rounds of it regardless of biopsy results). I really want to be with her but she has asked me not to come as she’s worried she has no immune system from chemo and am just devastated to think of her going through all of this…. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything that can help her spine/stomach or been through a similar situation? Does the care she’s receiving sound like good care or any suggestions regarding her care? Also has anyone else been in this rough of shape from spine metastasis, etc and recovered? My dad and the hospital are making it sound like this is all a normal part of chemo (?). I want to be positive for her and don’t know what to expect or think anymore as she has been too ill to communicate beyond short texts and my dad won’t ask doctors her prognosis etc as he said he just can’t go there. My dad and I are happy her liver levels improved (still high but came down around 50%) but I am feeling very concerned with her laying in bed all day if that can cause other complications. Sorry for the rambling and thank you so much for any suggestions or similar stories etc. This board is amazing and I’m so grateful I found it!!!!! ❀️❀️❀️

Looking for feedback on people’s experience on corsets alleviating back pain (particularly caused by large breasts or poor posture)

I used to wear corsets all the time but due to fluctuating weight caused by illnesses and medications, I have not been able to justify the cost of buying new corsets all the time.

However, I have horrible back pain from having large breasts and I cannot afford a reduction. I have assumed that a corset will probably be more comfortable than trying to manage with a restrictive sports bra and back brace.

Does anyone have experience in their corsets alleviating back pain? Including OTR underbust corsets?

Help for constant breast pain?

Hi vast community! I am 32 and have dense, lumpy breasts and fibroadenomas. They’re so painful, and have been for almost a decade. My partner can’t hug me. I can’t press on them. I lie awake and feel the lumps, and they’re very painful to the touch. The breast tissue in my armpits hurts constantly as well. Sometimes when I take off my bra at night (and I only wear extremely supportive, high impact sports bras because of the pain) it hurts when they move back. It’s not currently cancer, I’ve been getting scans. I wear 34DD. My doctor told me to get over it and β€œwear stronger bras.” Which I already do.

Anyone have tips or solutions? Could a breast reduction or top surgery (which I’ve been considering for identity reasons) help? I have a hormonal IUD, is that the culprit? Is there a life after this pain?? Would love ideas!

A lot of people and sources mention "sore" breasts but I'd say that's an understatement. For a few days before my period my breasts really hurt and I can't focus on anything because of the pain. Rib pain under left breast and at the same level in my back on the right.

So, first things first, I've already gone to the dr and I'm getting a chest x-ray. I'm just trying to see if anyone has experienced this kind of thing and what it ended up being and what helped the pain. About 5 days ago, I woke up with bad pain under my left breast in the ribs. I've had problems with my ribs my whole life and I know it's next to impossible to dislocate them, so I always assumed I was just pulling muscles or something. The pain has gotten worse since then and then yesterday, I woke with the same pain on the opposite side, same ribs, but in the back. It was pretty awful and at one point my husband laid down behind me and managed to massage *something* back into place (we both heard and felt it), so that side is a bit better now. I've tried wearing my longline corset, both loose and tight, I'm not wearing a bra, I've put heat and ice on it, I've done yoga, and I've tried to massage it myself to no avail.

Anyway, went to my pain management dr today and told her all of this and said "I know it's next to impossible to dislocate ribs, so what else do you think it could be?" She surprised me by saying "I have 3 of you EDS patients and I'm sorry it tell you that while it's rare it *is* possible to dislocate your ribs, it's happened to other EDS patients. You need to get a chest x-ray." So, I've put in the request with my PCP for that and will be doing that in the next couple days, but I wanted to ask here if anyone else is able to verify that they have indeed dislocated ribs and what that felt like, how you "fixed" it, what helps the pain, etc. Any advice, sympathy, or resources are much appreciated!

Edit: *sigh* Posted this, got up and was talking, subluxxed my jaw. Really hate this condition sometimes. This fucking blows.

One breast painful after pfizer vaccine in a particular place. It’s been 2 months and the pain remains. Anyone else?

UPDATE: thank you to everyone who shared a response here. I ended up getting a mammogram early in the new year and it apparently came back normal. The pain is still there but I believe it is starting to ease. It has now been 3 months since my 2nd dose of pfizer.

Let me preface this by saying that I have fibrocystic breast condition, which means my breast tissue is very dense, hard and lumpy. It usually is tender leading up to my period and then the pain goes away once my period ends. I had a 6cm fibroadenoma (benign tumour) surgically removed when I was 20 years old. I am now 32.

I had my 2nd dose of Pfizer in October in my left arm. A week or or so later my RIGHT breast and nipple had a burning sensation which has now turned into a sharp, stabbing pain in the bottom right hand side of my right breast.

I am extremely concerned and saw my doctor who said breast pain isn’t usually serious and said it was inflamed tissue. She sent me for an ultrasound which came back clear and normal (I rejected a mammogram).

A month after my ultrasound, my right breast still continuously hurts in the same spot so I saw another doctor who said the Pfizer vaccine can cause inflammation and soreness in the breast. When I asked her if it’s normal to be constant pain, only in one breast (and the breast opposite the arm I was injected in) and to STILL be sore for this long, she said yes. I was not fully convinced.

Has anyone else experienced this? Whether is was after vaccination or otherwise?

I am really concerned and don’t understand what’s happening.

Edited to add: when I massage my breast with castor oil the pain does subside a fair bit. But it comes back the next morning.

AITA if my breasts make people uncomfortable in a public place? I guess it's ok since I'm in pain and other people's comfort doesn't matter to me

Original Post

> So long time lurker first time poster. I 38(f) suffer from chronic pain due to a military injury. Basically, my shoulder has severe arthritis (bone on bone) and I need a shoulder replacement but due to my age and the inability for me to rehab (I’ve also torn up the bicep and stuffed all the tendons) I cannot get the replacement.

In order to deal with the pain I have had a pain stimulation device put into my spine which disrupts the pain messages from getting to the brain. Between this, pain therapy, medications physio and nerve blocks I can function, but only just. So now it’s just me an my companion pup and every day I take him for a walk locally. We live a block from the beach, which is relatively popular but not over the top, unless it’s a hot day on the weekend.

Up until now, I have struggled into a front clasping bra for the walk and then remove it when I get home again. It’s not comfortable on me in any way, the pressure of the strap on the shoulder plus the getting in and out of it’s a royal pain. But I’ve done it.

Recently, I got COVID and because my immune was down the pain flared, and all medical are on leave so it’s just me at the moment. I decided the pain outweighed the hassle of wearing a bra. Now I’m the first to admit I generally do need one, but to be honest I’m past the point of caring. Getting out for the walk is hard enough but I force myself both for my pup and for me.

So I tend to stick local to my house, around the block at sometimes we go down to the beach. My dog is extremely well trained to not be on a lead (as this is another disaster) which is not allowed where I live so we don’t go too far. So the last week I have been you know what I just can’t do it, but I’m getting flack from strangers and neighbours when I pass them. A few behind my back but still close enough I can hear them, and a few direct to my face with comments such as β€˜have you considered wearing a bra’ or β€˜the girls hanging free today’ or β€˜you really should consider what you wear in public’.

To say emotionally I’m not my strongest right now is an understatement and I hate conflict at the best of times. All I want is to go out for half an hour a day to walk my dog. That’s it, the rest of the time I’m home. So AITA for not wearing a bra while I walk my dog?

One thing I forgot to note is that he is a VERY slow walker so it’s not like I’m running along

Woke up with a sharp pain in my left breast, now questioning my life.

So about a night or so ago I started feeling this sharp pain building above my left nipple. Not on it exactly, but a good few inches up and to the left. Whenever I move a bit too much its this sharp stabbing pain and it bothers me a bit. I thought nothing of it and just thought maybe it was a deep pimple or ingrown hair about to ruin my life. Then I started to wonder if it could be something worse today.

I haven’t gone to see anyone about it yet and I think I’m going to however. I guess the main reason im making this is because a few months back I started actively improving my life, eating less junk, active exercise, lost a ton of weight. Im not the best at it but I’m actively trying unlike the last 6 or so years. And now this sudden pain in a very alarming area has me spiralling a little. I thought that things would get better and I could make something of myself.

Now I’m honestly wondering if I’ll have time. If anything I do will be worth the effort.

Pain and numbness in breasts after pneumothorax

Hello everyone! I (21F) woke up with a major pneumothorax on the morning of the 13th of December and immediately got a chest tube. The day after my left lung collapsed as well and another tube was inserted. After an 8 day stay in the hospital(where the left lung’s tube was taken out and then reinserted due to it collapsing from being taken out) I was finally discharged.

Since then I have had minor pain and have just stopped taking oxycodone yesterday (still no increase in pain).

But the weird thing I have been experiencing is soreness in both my breasts and numbness in my left breast (when I drag my finger over a certain part, I can’t really feel it). Have any of you experienced soreness and/or numbness like this? Could it be the medication I have been taking? (Oxycodone, paracetamol, ibuprofen and magnesium) Or can it somehow be directly related to the pneumothorax?

has anyone ever had breast pain come every month on the BC pill?

ive been on the pill for 3 years and I suddenly started having breast pain 5-6 months ago. it freaked me out but pregnancy tests were negative. soon enough, the breast pain kept coming back every month like clockwork - typically a week or so before my 7 days of placebos. id take a test almost each time the pain would happen and negative. I switched to the lowest dose combo pill lo loestrin fe in November hoping it would help. the first month on it, nothing! in December, it started again except it was more in the middle of my pack and going away well before the 2 placebo pills. its January, and the pain started on the same exact day (in the pack) that it did in December. im considering switching methods, maybe to a progestin only pill or nexplanon - but this pain is making me feel crazed every month. id OCCASIONALLY have random pain during my 3 years on the pill but I dont know where the sudden monthly pain has come from and I really want to know if this has happened to other people. my GYN did a breast exam that was normal. I gave up a month ago testing every single time because I cannot continually buy tests and burden myself like that with the stress. GYN said pregnancy isnt a worry for her since im a perfect pill user and I use condoms every time as a backup method. does anyone know what this is all about? can relate? any methods they think may help relieve me? because im lost and tired of icing my boobs every 4 weeks! (pregnancy anxiety gets to me too even though this keeps happening and im clearly not pregnant but the pain each months gets me wondering) I have no other major side effects or symptoms expect for this one.

Breast Pain

Who here has breast pain? I have looked everywhere to educate myself on breast pain. I can’t find much except don’t drink caffeine.

I do not drink much caffeine - yet I have consistent breast pains. They are like a dull ache most of the time. Sometimes it’s more intense but typically a light ache type of pain. It’s not centered around my cycle or anything/ I know I’ve read about that - but that’s not it. The pain goes all the way up into my armpit areas.

I do self exams regularly and feel nothing. I do have a mammogram scheduled to see what they think - but I did that 2 years ago also and they didn’t see any reason for my pain.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Anyone experience breast pain / tenderness?

Hi everyone, (23)f here. I’m on my second day and I’ve noticed that my breasts are sore. I’m supposed to start my period soon but the tenderness is much more than my usual period. Anyone else experience this? I also have a red spot on my breast

Breast pain....is this normal?

Please help with advice. I have been having pain in my left breast, pretty bad over the last few days. No bumps or anything otherwise out of the ordinary, but it hurts to touch or if I'm changing, etc. I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago, so it isn't related to menstrual cycles. My mom died of breast cancer young, when she was 33, so of course that's my first thought, but I don't want to go spend money I don't have on a doctor if there could be another reason for the pain. If it helps, I'm 40. I did consider early menopause since I'm aware it can hit early in women who had a hysterectomy. Any ideas what this could be?

No breast pain since L&D and ttc again

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before. Before falling pregnant with my little boy last March, I would have cyclical breast pain around ovulation and again when I was due my period. For the first few weeks of pregnancy I had tenderness until it slowly went away. I then gave birth to my sleeping baby at 27 weeks. To stop the milk from coming in I was advised to wear no underwire bras and to avoid stimulation which I did and thankfully didn’t suffer any pain from the milk coming in.

My problem is since then I haven’t had any kind of cyclical breast pain, I’ve had 2 regular cycles and both have been without any kind of cyclical breast pain. Should I be concerned or is my body just taking slower to return to normal. I’ve been to Accupuncture and reflexology to help everything get back to normal. Or am I just overthinking. If you’ve any advice that would be great. Thank you.

Breast pain for two weeks before period. Starting to feel really tired of this
