A list of puns related to "Architectural Digest"
I was excited to come across Lizzieβs new house as I was flipping through AD today! Quite a different style than the house where Maryβs wedding was.
The ones in Beverly Hills are PERFECT!
I had to add these lyrics idk how I forgot π΅π€―π₯

One of my favourite things about Deathloop is the attention to the architecture, and specifically the way the three main eras of the island's habitation are reflected in the maps. You have the original fishing villages and town (Updaam and Karl's Bay), the heavy military structures of the Army of the Motherland/Project Horizon, and finally the adaptation of those existing elements with additions by AEON with a pop/sixties style. I can't think of another game that has such great attention to architecture, and certainly not one that layers periods like this so well (like real life places do) rather than just evoking a single style.
It's particularly great where you see intersections, like the red house in Karl's Bay, an old fishing house adapted into a pop sex lounge interior, or the adaptations of Alexsis and Julianna's mansions.
Here are my thoughts on the architecture of the visionary compounds, which show some of these themes especially in being adapted from Horizon or pre-Horizon structures.
Frank's Club -- this is a favourite of mine, it's the freest expression of the modernist aesthetic of AEON as it is largely a new build which references the spectacular natural setting but is relatively distinct from older habitations except at the very lowest level. Sweeping external curves especially around the roof that are reminscent of Oscar Niemeyer, especially Casa das Canoas but also the larger structures of Brasilia. And the interior is very pop sixties/seventies, lots of primary colours and funky lounges. The only miss I thought was not enough opportunity from inside to enjoy the incredible view of the sea, I would have wanted a picture window... but maybe he uses the roof areas instead. This is the house I would hang out in.
Julianna's mansion -- Another favourite, I replayed just to experience it again. This is a better implementation in my opinion of the theme of Aleksis's mansion, honestly I wish we had finished with this space. The core is a Horizon mansion belonging to the head of Horizon, Capt Berezin, and then the renovation is a warmer version of Frank's architecture with curves and a clifftop location. Some of the details including the suspended elements are closer to John Lautner. You get a sense of her personality too in the centrality of the library. This really felt fully developed and like it could exist in a real world.
Charlie -- So so so crazy, and stands out because an early building (like Aleksis, the mansion is Horizon or pre-Hori
... keep reading on reddit β‘One of the staples of 90's Howard Stern was a lady named Theresa Croix / Croy (?) who was a semi-regular in-studio guest who was (officially?) elevated to Wack Pack status for her outlandish delusions of grandeur and strange stream of consciousness ramblings. She was interesting but Howard knew to keep her appearances relatively short... some things are better in small quantities.
One of her more famous claims was that Ronald Reagan stole her "architecture". Hearing Howard try to get her to explain exactly what that meant has become part of Stern Show legend.
During one appearance, Croix claims to have finally resolved the issue of her stolen architecture. She specifically credits one person for providing the means.
Today's question:
To whom does Croix credit for resolving the theft of her stolen architecture by Ronald Reagan?
