I know a lot of people are aware of the Knights Valorampage but just wanted to throw out there that there is a small NSG tourney with a lot of interesting teams mentioned above with new rosters and players we haven't seen in a while.
And the first match of the playoffs after group stage is happening today at 8:00pm CST (which I imagine will at least stream popular matches such as T1). So for anyone who can't want till Knights Valorampage you can get your NA copium starting today!

(A bit of a rant/advice needed)
It's my first year doing winter guard and I feel so burnt out. I had to miss a few practices because I was sick and they changed the whole show, all the placing and all the work. I'm so behind and confused because everything changed
My instructor isn't any help. She said if everyone isn't at every single practice, we won't place, and this guard ALWAYYS places. and if we don't I get so disappointed for wasting my time". She got mad at someone because they had a doctors appointment and didn't come afterwards. said "If there's a birthday party, go next year." Someone was late because of a family issue and they were shamed in front of the whole guard,
She's constantly misgendering me and other members of guard after being corrected. We were all told "If you are hurt, have cramps, not feeling well physically, still come because we cannot afford you missing practice because your body isn't at 100%". She's body shamed people because of their clothing and expects everyone to be slim and fit into these body suits that only go up to a large (note there is a few bigger/taller people who cannot fit into a large, including myself)
I was yelled at for having common ADHD traits, like not focusing fully, not hearing something correctly, not making direct eye contact when she was like a foot away from me, which makes me SUPER uncomfortable, even more with covid and personal space issues. This is a super big insecurity of mine and she completely violated it.
This person quit because 1: guard was causing their mental health to become so awful because of her being so strict, and 2: their leg was so badly injured they couldn't stand up but they "still had to preform because its only hurting a bit." Turns out her kneecap was like growing incorrectly and winter guard didn't help.
A different person missed practice a few times because they tore a ligament and also has a really bad knee from surgery. Instructor got so mad about this we wasted an hour because of her complaints about ONE PERSON.
It doesn't seem like the correct place for me to be. I loved fall guard but winter guard, yikes... It's a different instructor and she pushes everyone way past their comfort zone and their physical capability. I was expected to know very hard skills the 2nd week because I was in fall guard and got shamed when I became stressed and cried.
Should I quit? Or should I stay for the rest of the season and suck it up for the sake of the rest of the guard

It was a typical day standing outside the Red Keep in the winter cold. The guards would often swap positions to keep moving frequently so their joints didn't become too stiff in the cool winds. During one such shift, a washerwoman with a cap on left the Red Keep. A common enough occurrence, except for a moment the guard noticed purple eyes before the woman looked down at the gravel pavement. He knew well enough there were no washerwomen with purple eyes in the Red Keep, so who was this woman?
Harper Winters Mall is the brand new mall constructed right near the state line between the US states of North Texas and West Texas. It has however become the source of great controversy following the passage of a raft of "Equality Laws" in Congress over in Arlington.
A fierce battle now ensues between the central US government and the local state government of the state of North Texas. Headed by black Governor, Governor Michael Hunter, the majority black government of the majority black state of North Texas fiercely refuses to follow new federal laws which make it mandatory for states like North Texas to allow other Americans into their state.
In a fiery speech last week, Governor Hunter reiterated that "North Texas will not fall to tyranny."
Speaking to 8,000 North Texans at the Wilhelmina B. Hummer Memorial Park, he said "Yet again, the Federal government goes too far and wishes to impurify the great state of North Texas. North Texas is a black state; we keep ourselves to ourselves and we all work hard and thrive. We do not want unchecked, unvetted and troublesome outsiders to invade our state. We have seen time and time again that those states which let in whites without proper checks and vetting become weakened and broken and the black folk of those states become like babies and fall into a spiral of criminality, welfare, inactivity and over-dependence ."
One of the new federal Equality Laws, the Free Passage for All Act, stipulates that "ALL Americans of whatever race, skin color, religious affiliation or any other defining characteristic, shall be allowed to move freely, without hindrance or prejudice, to and within other US states, whether for leisure or tourism or education or relocation, so long as they abide by the local laws of those states."
Such an Act contradicts North Texas' rules which bar unchecked and unvetted arrivals into North Texas and make it very difficult for other Americans to enter the state. North Texas is one of only six US states where the majority of residents are black.
Analysts fear that the new Equality Laws could possibly push fringe independence groups and parties in those states into the mainstream.
Currently, 46 Pennsylvanians, 45 of whom are white, are currently in West Texas, near the state line. They are waiting patiently to visit the Harper Winters Mall in North Texas, which has a giant brand new statue of the 22nd US President, Robert "Bob" T. Washington, a black man.

Hey! Our coaches and choreographers are asking for some suggestions from us this year as theyβre still deciding. Our head coach told us it was decided that she wanted to do something happier, since weβve done somber/slow routines for the past few years now. Theyβve always been great, but itβs good to switch things up! Also looking for concept ideas, but thatβs just to help me visualize sheβll want to do that herself. She wouldnβt mind something that changes from a more somber tone to a happier one (weβve done that before) :)

My parents say it might be too girly (even though I know a lot of the people doing it plus they donβt know Iβm genderfluid) but I think it would be a good sport to do especially since it keeps me up with marching... what do you think
I've gotten my HVAC system replaced this summer since they were too old (15 years old) and the heat pumps started making noise of metal banging, so two new heat pumps and two new furnaces + a new humidifier system were installed. That being done, the company who did the work still hasn't provided us with the snowguard for the two outdoor heat pumps that we paid for. Winter is coming and here in Canada, snow fall is crazy and expected. I asked them what I had to do in case of snow fall and they've told me that all I needed to do was switch to emergency heating on the thermostat so the furnace could start running instead of the heat pumps and nothing else had to be done.
Now here is the question : I understand that using the furnace and inputting emergency heating will heat the home, but what about the two heat pumps outside? Won't they be submerged in ice and snow leading to potential damage? The company told us that the snowguards are out of stock and it's being 6 months since they've ordered it, at this point I won't be surprised if it takes a full year for them to get it!
a follow up question would be: if I need to add protection to the two heat pumps outside that will be deactivated during winter, should I buy a sort of small cover so that ice doesn't fall inside and damage the units?
the two heat pumps are Lenox systems.

Hey guys,
So I have transferred from the air force guard to the army natl guard for my local area. Air force was a complete jerk, making me do a board interview, take the AFOQT exam, then accept me into their pre-officer training track. Five months into going to monthly drills, a senior recruiter, and the commander of my unit (budget finance-comptroller) pulled me into the break room. These f--kers told me that the officer position that was being offered to me is going to be an active guard reserve position. I was really pissed.
My civilian job is working as a registered nurse.
To make a long story short, I thought about doing the enlisted route for the AF. This means basic training at Lackland, and then going to tech school. But I would be away from home for 8 months. Cannot do that as I help my mom manage our rental properties.
talked to my friend's older brother who was an enlisted with the army guard. Chinese-American guy, and with his glasses, looks kind of nerdy. Yet, he went off to Afghanistan and must have done okay to survive the army.
For me,..hell no, I ain't doing no artillery because it is said to be full of white trash, racist blacks, etc.
My goal now is to be commissioned as an officer in the army guard.
I have finished my paper work with MEPS and to transfer over to the Army.
Next step, even for officer candidates, is to go off to army basic combat training.
I don't know my shipping date yet. however, it is more than likely going to be at Fort Jackson in S. Carolina.
For those of you who went to army, regardless if you were active duty, reserve or natl guardsmen,.....and if you went to Fort Jackson for training, how was your experience like over there?
Were there any drill sergeants / MTIs who picked on your because you were not white or black person? How were your colleagues during basic training? I ask because in the army, compared to the air force, it is highly stressed that you have a "battle buddy" with you. You don't want to be alone, esp in the Army when you're out in the field. I hard it's either male-male or male and two females for battle buddy partners.
In the Army, you are mainly out in the field, doing land navigation, shooting, etc.
Oh, and how did you guys do the rucking/long march? I am so scared as hell doing rucking with 40-pound shit on my back and I have heard horror stories of soldier trainees getting blisters on their feet for the 10-mile (or more!) ruck/march.

Black Widow and the Winter Guard:
Set in the present day, Yelena Belova has now left Contessa's control and has returned to Russia, hoping to reunite with her family. She returns to the hideout of the Widows where she rejoins her parents. She returns to find that her parents have now begun training the Widows so they can protect themselves and keep themselves safe, taking on the role of their mother figure.
It's here we see how the death of Natasha has affected the family. Melina has now entered a mix of being overprotective yet emotionally-closed off, wanting to make sure her newfound children aren't hurt.
With Alexei, he's now putting on this facade that everything is okay, trying to keep being the smiling jokester but clearly hasn't fully-accepted Natasha's death. And finally, there's Yelena who's still saddened by Nat's death and is diving right back into her family in the hopes of finding someone to fill that void.
However, trouble brews when Department X (the Russian government's equivalent of SHIELD) announces its newest line of defense: a Russian superhero team being called the Winter Guard. Members of the team include:
-Lyudmila Kudrin: An acclaimed scientist, the Fury of the team and their mother figure
-Mikhail Ursus (Ursa Major), a giant bear-man and Alexei's ex-cellmate
-Alexander Nevsky (Crimson Dynamo), a young fan of the Vankos and Russia's answer to Iron Man
-Laynia Krylova (Darkstar), a young woman who can control Darkforce energy
-Nikolai Krylenko, Laynia's brother and Russia's newest Red Guardian (which causes a lot of anger for Alexei).
While they seem like genuine do-gooders to the public, we see that they're being sent out to attack the Widows, with it appearing as though Department X and the Russian government seek to wipe out any traces left of their history with the Red Room.
So now, we have our heroes on a mission to publicize the Russian government's involvement in the Red Room and the activities of the Winter Guard. But to do this, they need help. We see the
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hey everyone! I just went to my first winter guard practice and I really enjoyed it! If you don't know what that is, it's basically colorguard inside. I march clarinet but the flags seem cool, so I thought I'd give it a try. Do you or anyone you know march but does winter guard?
A little background I live in a super small town like 1,200 students at my high school if your being generous. My colorguard has 5 members including me. (One senior, one Junior, one sophomore, and two freshman one of which is me) Iβve never done dance or anything of the sort and when I signed I was told I needed absolutely no experience. However, My coach is a just bitter rude person. I canβt put it any other way. She tells my guard we are the worst team sheβs ever had and has been threatening not to do winter since band camp in July.
Anyway flash forward to last week gave us a video of 32 counts she wants us to learn on our own. I know this sound mega excuseville but I didnβt understand it or really learn it at all. Part of it is doing a handstand. But I did try I live in a apartment with no backyard and last week would ride my bike to a park to try and teach my self. Then over the weekend I helped my dad move. Still trying. It not that I donβt know the choreography I just donβt understand how to do it properly and in a circle. She not a person you can come to with questions or ask for help she say go to the caption and the captain will only βhelpβ durning the 30 minutes of lunch. And when she wants too, And another thing Iβm not denying my self food. (No food in the guard room) And you mite ask why donβt you eat for the first 15 minutes and then go. In her words βyou need to commit a fully if you want help.β
Leading us to yesterday and her asking to show her. We did it Iβm not going to lie I look horrible. Most of it is ground work with tumbling. She puts her hands on her face and goes over to the caption and says
βyeah Iβm not doing winter season I wanted to wait till Monday to decide but (my name) doesnβt practice or try so it would just be a waste of money. And i should have know because this is typical of herβ
I was just in shock couldnβt even look at her. Held back tears till I got in my moms car. Cried for almost 3 hours. The fact that sheβd says that in front on me hurt so much and made me think what would she say when Iβm not there. And for anyone confused she never said βif you guys canβt to this weβre not doing winter if you guys donβt get this.
I feel stuck Iβm trying my hardest but Iβm not doing great I feel emotional broken as this is not the only thing she said what do I do.
