A list of puns related to "Windsor Chair"
Hi all,
I recently inherited this chair and it looks a bit older compared to a lot of what I've found online. Anyone know if this is just a old chair or is more unique? Any thoughts on worth?
Hello :)
I realized I made a mistake selecting some french provincial cane back chairs for the dining room. Thankfully I purchased them used so the only real loss is all the time I spent stripping them of their decades of slopped on paint!
I really want to go in the direction of windsor chairs. But windsor chairs have so many variations, I can't decide what will look best. I narrowed it down to two options, one is a bit fancier, a bit more elegant (taller back and thinner spindles) and the other is a bit more rustic, thicker spindles and the captain chairs have a cross piece at the back. I would refinish the more rustic ones by sanding and applying a black stain. I would leave the fancier ones as are.
Our decor style I would say is fairly muted, blacks/putty whites/muted blues and turquoises, more traditional craftsman-settler-style. Metals/fixtures are a mix of copper, unlacquered brass or iron. We still do like some elegance but we try to get it through a simple look in more natural materials, like understated elegant maybe? I'm not sure what I'm saying at this point, hopefully someone can decode my spewing!
Pictures of chairs, more rustic chairs are from a used listing so the pictures aren't great, elegant chair is from the store so better picture

Opinions? Help in choosing?
Hey, so I inherited these two pieces from a neighbour a good few years back. I've never had any info on them apart from what I've tried to find myself.
The chair I suspect is a grandfather windsor chair? Not sure on age or wood type though but would love to know any other information!
The second is a tiny stool...I think. It's only around 25cm long with a celtic looking carving on the top. Any help with this would be much appreciated as I have absolutely no clue!
I bought this chair for $5 at a thrift store a few years ago. Iβve always loved the look of antiques but Iβve never been interested in learning much about them until recently. All I could make out was βBent &β and β1867β so decided to google that and found out itβs a Bent & Brothers colonial Windsor chair. I know itβs probably nothing special but I was excited to know I have an antique in my home. Something I bought for only $5 lol. I just thought Iβd share!
And since Iβm new to learning about antiques, and wanting to start collecting them (specifically furniture), Iβd like to know if any of you have some advice on how to spot antiques? Iβve been watching some YouTube videos about different eras of furniture design. Itβs been very interesting to me!
Iβm also curious - do any of you have suggestions on how to remove this paint without doing any more damage to the wood? Itβs on there pretty thick.
Thank you!!

My parents live in the US and have an antique Windsor chair that they've had for ages. They were gifted this a long time ago, and were told that they were old and valuable, but never learned any more information.
What we know about them:
there's a "made in Sweden" stamp engaged into the bottom of the seat. There are no other markings.
the pair of chairs don't match perfectly, so they are handmade. Same design 100%, but curves are slightly off from each other.
they were brought over to the US, so they are likely made before the style became mass made in the US.
there are no screws whatsoever, they are held together by press fit wooden pieces.
they're still stable even if they are old and screw less, so they are very well made.

Is this actually worth much?
Jackie was last seen in her bedroom at her home in Windsor, California at 9:30 p.m. on May 21, 1980. She has never been heard from again. She was discovered missing at 7:00 a.m. the next day. There was a chair outside the window, and the window had been pried open from the outside, but there were no indications of a struggle.
Jackie's nine-year-old brother was asleep in the room at the time of her disappearance and didn't see or hear anything, but he was a very sound sleeper. Besides the pink nightgown Jackie was wearing, $7 in cash, a maroon nylon ski jacket and blue jogging shoes were the only things that were missing from her room.
Jackie βdidn'tβ have a boyfriend at the time of her disappearance and wasn't having any problems in her life. She was a sixth-grader at the Starr School in 1980. (Brief summary of the school districts history)
Jackie's parents were Dennis Boyer and Beverly Williams and that she was born in Del Norte in 1968. The parents married in Del Norte in 1967 as teenagers. Presumably they moved the 300 miles to Windsor in the 1970s. The tragedy is that it seems Beverly probably died in 1983 and Dennis in 1987.
Dennis and Beverly also had a son, Randy, born in 1970.
Any information or local theories ?
