Anthony is the English form of the Roman family name Antonius, which is of unknown Etruscan origin. Up until the 17th century, the English form was spelled and pronounced Antony.

Then William Camden comes along. He was an English antiquarian, historian, topographer, and herald, best known as the author of Britannia. He was publishing works at the same time as Shakespeare, and a lot of the earliest mention of some English words are from his works.

Returning everything in England to its superior classical roots was a big thing during the English Renaissance (“restore antiquity to Britaine, and Britain to his antiquity” as Camden put it). He saw the name Antony and maybe he said to himself “Well this obviously comes from the Greek word for flower which is anthos, a connection which has been lost through the years of use. I’ll just fix it and stick that H back where it belongs.” To be fair, he didn’t actually mention this change, so perhaps he was just writing down someone else’s correction. But he did write it down. This happened about the same time Shakespeare wrote Antony and Cleopatra, where the h-less spelling is preserved. Importantly, this change in spelling did not change the pronunciation in English.

Everything was fine, everyone spelling it Anthony but pronouncing it Antony, until it crossed the pond. In the USA, I’m sure the thought process went something like “Well this name is obviously originally pronounced with a th. People have probably just drifted away from the original pronunciation so we will fix that and pronounce it correctly.” Or maybe it was simply a spelling pronunciation. In either case, Anthony with a th was born.

So if you are watching Bridgerton and wondering why everyone keeps dropping the h out of Anthony, now you know why. And if your name is Anthony with a th pronounced, well, carry on. There is no way in hell I’m going to tell you how to pronounce your name. Anthony with a th is an accepted pronunciation now, despite what those old farts who wrote name books said.

(Like Names and Name Days, Attwater (1939) “There is no justification for the spelling ‘Anthony’” or from The Oxford Dictionary of English Christian Names, E.G. Withycombe (1953) “The h is, of course, silent, but there is some danger nowadays of a spelling pronunciation (already in use in the USA), and the older spelling is to be preferred.” But they can be safely ignored.)

I was in her group at the time because there were family members of the girls that were active. They were involved to help fact check information about the case. Some of the family members in the group included Becky Patty, Tara German, and Kelsi German. There were others but I’m forgetting their names at the moment.

Since sharing this timeline, Katey’s group had some changes and she is gone. The name has changed and there are different admins. The sources for this timeline were not cited. Does anyone know who helped put this one together?

I like this timeline because it gives details shared by the family, and it covers the days leading up to the murders. However, it is old and needs some cleaning up. There are new details that need to be included, things edited , sourced, spell checks, links, etc.

Attorney William Riback believes the New Jersey impact zones list is faulty since it includes towns that were not damaged by the War on Drugs. He is adding it to the lawsuit against cannabis prohibition enforcement.

A class-action lawsuit Drayton v. State of New Jersey was filed in the Superior Court in Mercer County by Riback that alleges disproportionately arresting people of color for cannabis prohibition possession was unlawful. It’s especially critical of the penalties for cannabis crimes committed in drug-free school zones. It notes that the entirety of the minority-majority cities of Newark, Camden, and Jersey City are largely covered by these zones.

Let us revisit the Open Secrets Videos about GK. I watched all 16 damn videos in the GK video series. I realize there's more info on him from her, I'm working on it.  Here are some college style notes on what I found relevant from PT 7 to Pt 16. If you saw that coming, raise your hand. Now put your hand down. Ok, maybe it’s possible that you saw it coming and for that I commend you, because you’d be one of a very small group of people that predicted that Utah would blow out Oregon in such a complete fashion. On the primetime ABC broadcast, the r/CFB #5 Oregon Ducks saw their playoff hopes vaporized in a 38-7 onslaught as the #24 Utes clinched their 3rd trip to the Pac 12 championship game in the last 4 seasons.

The game was never really in question. Utah struck 1st... then 2nd. Then 3rd, then 4th, all within the 1st half while holding Oregon to 0 points in that half for the first time since the Ducks’ 2018 Redbox Bow win, and then to just 7 points overall for the 1st time since that same bowl. Utah’s Tavion Thomas scored 3 times on the ground for Utah to bring his season rushing touchdown total to 17 and is now Utah’s single season rushing touchdowns leader with 3 games left to play. Cam Rising was effective at quarterback for the Utes, managing the game well with several big throws to Brant Kuithe (118 yards receiving) and added a rushing touchdown of his own.

The unquestionable biggest play of the night came at the end of the 1st half. As time was set to expire and Oregon failed to convert on a 3rd down, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham elected for a ballsy timeout call with 11 seconds remaining in order to force a punt and hopefully a final attempt at points for the Utes before the break. The gutsy call paid off in spades, as Britain Covey caught the ball at the Utah 22 yard line, managed to elude defenders, directed his blockers, and dashed his way for a 78 yard touchdown return to end the half, effectively bringing hopes of an Oregon comeback in the 2nd half to a crashing halt.

The return capped off an incredibly dominant 1st half by Utah, and while the Utes went more conservative in the 2nd half, there was never any real threat from the Ducks to make it a game. Anthony Brown finished with more yards in the air than the Utes did with 231 yards overall, and threw Oregon’s lone touchdown on the night to Devon Williams, but was often tracked down by Utah’s defense and was unable to find the end zone more than that once. GEE Group announced the (expected) forgiveness of all PPP loans and interest and previewed "outstanding" results to be announced this week.    Not sure why they didn't just go ahead and announce those results but happy to wait a few days for "outstanding"!

We expect topline and EBITDA growth this week and a solid outlook into FY (Sept) 22.

Odds favor a reverse split to get this 47c stock with a $50M mkt cap into a more investable stock price range.  We have been pushing for some buyback and are hopeful of some guidance on capital allocation now that the company has $10M of gross/net cash.

At 4X current EBITDA for a growing, profiatble temp/perm stafiing business with an experienced mgmt team, JOB is far too cheap.

GEE Group (JOB) an obscure, but otherwise relatively standard temp/perm staffing company, currently, and temporarily, sits in penny stock land thanks to a highly dilutive equity raise which eliminated toxic debt and reset the capital structure and but which has also positioned the company for solid organic and acquisition growth going forward.

Despite trading as a penny stock, Gee Group is a real company with $140M revenue and north of $10M ebitda in 2021 (Sept FY).  The only remaining debt is $16M of PPP loans which are in the forgiveness pipeline and should be gone w/i 3-6 months. The company has $7M in cash and is FCF positive post the equity for debt refi mentioned above. • Sunday morning Kelsi picked Libby up from Allison’s house.
• Libby posted on Instagram that she “didn’t have pics on this phone”. The weekend before, Libby had to factory reset her phone because it was freezing up. When Libby reset her phone she lost all of her pictures and contacts.

Monday, Feb. 13, 2017
Temperature- High: 43°F | Low: 27°F

*Noon: The girls decide they wanted to go to the high bridge, permission was granted as long as they were able to get a ride there and back.

*1:35p.m. Libby's sister drops girls off at Monon High Bridge. Libby's father, Derrek German, was to pick them up in 1.5-2 hours after running errands and would call Libby - no set pickup time.

2:07 p.m. Liberty posts photo of Abigail on Snapchat.

2:?? p.m. Video of BG taken shortly after 2:07 Snapchat from the end of the bridge with Libby's front facing camera over her shoulder as he approached them.

*3:11 p.m. Derrek calls Libby - no answer.

*3:13 p.m. He calls again - no answer.

*3:30 p.m. Derrek looks for the girls towards the bridge at first, but then goes the other way after a man in a flannel shirt tells him he did not see the girls on the bridge, but that there were a couple below.

3:50 p.m. Another woman is on the bridge taking photos around this time (one photo tagged as 3:50) but states she did not see Libby or Abby.

*4:00 p.m. Mike Patty is contacted at work.

*After 4:00 family starts arriving to look for girls.

5:20 p.m. They’re reported missing to LE.

5:45 p.m Amber Alert sent out for missing girl in Gary, Indiana believed to be in EXTREME DANGER. (unrelated but important b/c this would have ISP's IMMEDIATE attention during critical times while the search for Libby and Abby was ongoing and lasted overnight.)

A large search effort involving volunteers and multiple law enforcement agencies gets underway. They scour the area in an attempt to find Liberty and Abigail.

6:20 p.m. Sunset in Delphi, Indiana on February 13th, 2017

6:30 p.m: Ron Logan is asked if his property can be searched for missing girls. Darkness and rough terrain probably made this difficult for volunteers. (“I did not find out about it until after about 6:30 in the afternoon. People stopped here and asked for permission to go back on my property and said two girls were missing.” Logan in an interview)

7:01 p.m. *Scanner* - Delphi fire - Requested at station for briefing on 2 miss
