A list of puns related to "Verismo"
We have a Verismo machine. Have loved it for many years. I see one. An still find Verismo pods but the supply is dwindling after discontinuation of the machine. I canโt seem to find a clear answer on whether other pods (k-fee) actually are compatible. Or, does anyone know of a good reusable pod? Thanks for your help!!! :)
Since itโs Black Friday sale, she got the $99 Vertuo Next and 2 sleeves of holiday coffee!
I have been using Verismo for years and noticed that the machines got discontinued a while back. I have still been able to purchase pods from my local Starbucks stores, but the pods have been harder and harder to find (and expiration dates have been shorter and shorter). Ever since all of the holiday mugs and coffee were put on the shelves I have seen the Verismo pods disappear entirely. I have two locations within walking distance and one of them had a single box of espresso pods and the other location had no pods of any form.
Have they officially been discontinued? I still see them listed on Amazon but I know that is most likely not going to continue in the long run if the stores no longer carry them. I was trying to figure out if I need to start looking into replacing my Verismo or not. I have always found the Verismo pods to be far better than when I had a Keurig before, but I imagine there is no longer a good alternative. I know that K-fee sells pods that still work with the Verismo machines, but I am not sure I want to be limited to those pods (or if I like them since I have yet to try them).
Anyone know any concrete details on where Verismo stands?
This is from a few years ago during my second year working at Starbucks. It was during the holidays. We were having a sale on the Verismo coffee maker. You got the machine, a box of 12 pods, and a free starter sample kit with another 12 pods for $54. For a little extra, you could get a milk frother. During this sale one of our regular customers comes in. He wasn't a bad guy, he just had a lot of annoying orders. He asks me about the sale and decides that he wants to get one. So we get him set up and he's on his way.
A few weeks later after the sale was over, he comes back to return it. He says that he wasn't aware that you had to buy a specific brand of pods only and you couldn't get them in most normal stores. It was a brand that was dying and we were one of only a handful of places that still carried their products at the time. That's a fair reason to return it. I inspect it and it's still in it's inner packaging so it hadn't been used. So I start to ring up the return and he says "Why is my return only $54?" I look at him confused and tell him that it was the price he bought it for and I remember selling it to him during the sale. He points to a sign and says "but the sign says $128". He was refering to the regular non-sale pricing. I explain to him that becuase he bought it during the sale he could only get the sale price back. He demands to see my shift lead and she tells him the same thing. He then demands to see the manager. We tell him that she is out and won't be back for about an hour. He waits in our lobby at a table right next to our back room door just glaring. When my manager came back we explaind the situation and she listened to him speak. After he was done she just said "Sire you're walking out of here with that machine or $54, pick one." He leaves with the machine.
Jump a couple weeks later, I walk into work and my manger says there is a surprise on the desk for me. Turns out he came back and tried that crap again but took the money this time. Because the plastic wrap around the box was gone we couldn't sell it so it's a write off. Everyone in my store knew I wanted one but we sold out before I could get one. That my friends is how I got my expensive coffee maker for free.
LAter on we managed to piss off his kids too. They would come in and ask for large cups of just whiped cream. When word came down that we weren't allowed to do that, we cut them off and they argued with us saying they should be an exception because they got them b
... keep reading on reddit โกMy SM just approached me about being the Verismo Lead at my store. Does anyone know what this entails? Have any of y'all been approached about this or have any info on it?
If so, whatโs your favorite stuff to make at home? Any tips or tricks? Do you have the milk frother as well? I really wish there was a reusable pod option like for Keurig machines.
Was recently given a $100 Starbucks giftcard (happy birthday to me), but having just moved and also being primarily a drinker of locally roasted hot bean juice, I'm right now in the market for some new equipment. Not wanting to get the not-Kuerig that Starbucks sells, is there anyway I could put this towards getting other equipment, or is that all they have? Sorry if this isn't the right place for this question.
I've seen some posts in the past about peeps looking for Verismo replacements or pods. Check out this company K-FEE https://k-fee.us/ . Looks like they are the manufacturer of the Verismo machine and pods.
Iโve called multiple Starbucks around my area and none of them seem to sell the Verismo anymore, is it because itโs Holiday season or is it because Verismo is soon to be discontinued? I think only 1 store out of the 20 I called still have them and Iโm confused as to why? Is it still worth getting the Verismo or do you think itโll be discontinued soon? Iโve heard of alternatives like the Nesspresso, I just wanted to buy a coffee maker that would make espresso as well. I also figured that since I work at Starbucks itโd be a deal to buy pods using our partner discount, but Iโm not sure if itโll be good in the long run. Any thoughts?
I have the Starbucksโ single serve espresso machine and I love it! Though it seems Starbucks employees arenโt quite aware of the very existence of Verismo pods, they all give me the deer at headlights look when I ask for Verismo espresso pods. I even had instances that I had to explain what it was and the employee was still clueless. Seriously, am I the only person buying these things?
Good morning!
I know this probably isn't the right subreddit for a truly unbiased opinion, but I can't seem to find a place to ask this question. r/espresso is a tad... smug (joking, I know people get passionate about their hobbies) so I'm just looking to get an idea from people who may have been in a similar predicament! My wife and I are looking to get a machine for our home and we're unsure of which to get.
Keurig K-Cafe: We've had a Keurig for awhile now and the ease of plopping a pod in in the morning and making a quick cup of coffee has been convenient. Being able to do this with all of the different brands on top of being able to make Lattes/Cappuccinos/Iced Drinks sounds pretty great. It's basically just a giant expansion on top of what we already use. Combined with ease of access to cheap pods, it sounds like a solid choice.
Starbucks Verismo: We recently just found out about this machine and, in theory, it seems like a pretty good middleground between the three devices. We both enjoy Starbucks for what it is so the idea of being able to produce somewhat store-level coffee/drinks is pretty great sounding. While it can only use Starbucks pods, they sell them in stores and places like Bed Bath and Beyond. I did read though (and I'm not sure if it was true) that Starbucks might be discontinuing the line. I'd hate to buy a machine only for it to go out of production in the near future.
Nespresso Vertuo: We were able to test one of these out in a store the other day by coincidence. The Aeroccino was pretty cool and I enjoyed the taste of the coffee. The only "worrying" things are only being able to buy the semi-expensive pods online with not a large variety to choose from in the grand scheme of things. It was cool to learn about the recycling program though!
Basically, it kind of boils down to this:
Keurig K-Cafe: Cheapest option with largest variety of pods, probably doesn't make the "best" cup of coffee/latte.
Verismo: Seems like the best middle ground with a lot of established Starbucks flavors. Can buy the pods in stores, able to produce decent flavored drinks.
Nespresso Vertuo: Most expensive option in terms of pods, least variety, can only buy online. Probably makes the "best" coffee of the three, from what I've read.
I know that was a bit lengthy so I appreciate anyone who took the time to read it all!
Been looking for a machine for my husband and I and just trying to figure out what will be best. My husband likes caramel macchiatos and I prefer straight espresso or iced with a little bit of coconut milk. I want to start using my mark-outs for pods if Iโm going to get the machine in the near future.
My questions are:
Does the espresso taste comparable to in store espresso? How is the masala chai? Do the regular coffee pods taste better than k-cups? How well does the milk frother work?
If you donโt have one what do you recommend?
Hey Everyone,
For a while now, I have been incredibly interested in purchasing a Verismo machine because in the Winter I really enjoy hot products. Obviously given that I am on here writing to you guys, I am a Starbucks drinker.
Are these machines discontinued? Is there a future for them? Or has Starbucks just going to ride it out and eventually will no longer be part of their product portfolio. If anyone has any insights on this I would really appreciate it!
Thanks
I was asked to be our store's Verismo V lead, in charge of selling 6 of these things. I had been waiting for a supervisor or manager to set me up with the demonstration station and all that, but found out yesterday that it was up to me to ask for the time to do this whole training thing, and I'm finding myself kind of stressed out about it.
I just went through the operating guide, troubleshooting, and FAQ for the machine itself and the milk frother. It all seems pretty straight-forward, but I am not an enthusiastic people person and the thought of asking customers, who are already either waiting to receive a beverage they just ordered, or are about to order a beverage, if they a) brew coffee at home, or b) are interesting in buying this machine, makes me kind of uncomfortable. I assume a very, very, very small subset of people who walk into our store (especially since it's literally at a gas station between larger towns) are there to actually buy the machine, and I'm not at all much of a salesman.
Any advice?
I want to get something for my husband and Im a eco nerd and Im fine having to take the pods apart to help recycle them, BUT Im stuck with either the Nespresso brand (that has there OWN recycle thing) or SB Verismo :/ I like that I can mark out my own pods every week but one day I might not be with SB (who knows right lol) and Im like.....welp what is a better option?
