Utica came out ina fully fleshed look, with contacts, immaculate makeup, perfect nails, and great presentation, plus it actually gave BEAST
Kandy was wearing a green bodysuit with sloppy makeup and a sex doll. The judges literally said themselves that the outfit did not give BEAST at all, but seemed to laugh it off like it didn't matter just because they like her?
Honestly, Kandy's outfit was disrespectful to the competition, and the fact she got away with that simply because she's likable is soooo disappointing.
I do feel like we need to talk about fatphobia on drag race and how fat queens are treated, but I feel like people attacking Utica is not only truly unhelpful and performative activism but takes away from the more insidious letβs directly offensive fatphobia that Queens experience on the show.
I havenβt seen a lot of people condemning her on this sub because I think we all have enough common sense to realize that it was a roast, and like the reading challenge you know what youβre signing up for (although it should be discussed why being fat is the number one thing a fat queen is made fun of immediately, but thatβs more of a societal problem than a drag race problem).
I just feel like most people going after Utica on Twitter donβt really care about fat people and just want to be upset about something.
