I am a young professional who is moving out to the Corning area in a couple weeks. I have 2 housing options at the moment, one in Corning (10 minute walk away from my workplace) and Elmira. The Corning apt has $1350/mo. rent with additional utilities while the Elmira apt. has $700/mo. rent with all utilities paid for. I am almost certainly going with the cheaper option in Elmira despite the commute, I just didn't know if Elmira is a safe place to live or not as I have read many opinions on the internet about Elmira's criminal activity and it seems to be divided. My apartment is north of the Elmira Heights area and a few blocks away from the edge of Horseheads, if that helps. I just want to feel safe with my apt. choice. Thank you!

I’m moving to the Elmira/Horseheads/Corning area in a few months and I’m looking for an apartment. Is there an area that is on the up and coming where more young professionals live, but is still safe? I’ve seen more apartments pop up in Elmira, but I’m not sure about the safety in the area, etc.

Just got accepted, curious to know from current students how LECOM Elmira actually is like? Is it rough, doable, is PBL hard? Can it be down with anki? How's the curriculum?
