A list of puns related to "Uterine Lining"
Hi all,
Thanks for a great forum, I'm learning so much from you sharing your experiences!
First post, non-native, all the apologies.
So I had my first medicated IUI Sunday. Was scanned Friday prior where they determined that the endometrial thickness wasn't as great as they would like (4.8 vs desired minimum of at least 7 or 8). We decided to go ahead anyway (if nothing else, then to do a trial run - I'm in a country where I only pay for medication and if I want a donor with more extended info). They said if this IUI doesn't work, we can try one more time and see how it develops next cycle, but then they would recommend IVF if it didn't improve. I'd rather not do IVF, sounds so invasive.. But they also said that it's not impossible, just not ideal, and maybe this is just how my body works. I'm so confused, I have no idea whether it's more unlikely than likely to influence the outcome.
Anyone with experience with IUI and thinner endometrial lining?
Any success with a thin uterine lining in general?
I kind of feel like my boobs are a bit sore, but I guess that might as well be the hormones or even PMS.. three days post-IUI isn't enough for pregnancy symptoms (right?). Trying not to get my hopes up, but you know how it is.
Edits to clarify:
I really don't think I have pregnancy symptoms. My intention was to ask whether others had experience with thin lining and pregnancy :)
I am a 29F, not sexually active (never have been) who has had their period for almost all of 2021. I have been to five doctors, a gynaecologist, had a pelvic ultrasound and had multiple blood tests, all of which have come back normal minus slightly high levels of insulin which is being addressed with my GP. Apart from that none of the doctorโs have been able to tell me why my period has been so long.
On November 13 I started taking 20 milligrams of the YAZ contraceptive pill. Iโve continued spotting almost every day since starting it.
For the past five days I have had extreme period pain and the past two days I have been bleeding VERY heavily. For most of 2021 I have been ranging from spotting to light blood flow but the past two days, especially the past 12 hours, it was in incredibly heavy constant flow and I had to change my pad more frequently than normal (Iโve been using pads this week).
A couple of days ago a small piece of flesh came out of me, I originally thought it was a large blood clot but it was a solid piece of tissue, smooth, about 4 centimetres long and one centimetre thick.
Fast forward to Christmas Day and all day my period pain is intense and it gets worse and worse. By 10pm Iโm groaning in bed, feeling like That guy in alien just before the alien bursts out of his stomach, tearing his body apart. At this point Iโm also bleeding the heaviest Iโve been for a very long time. Anyway, about half an hour ago I went to the bathroom and a HUGE mound of fleshy tissue came out of me. Like. Iโm still in a state of shock. It was a glob of tissue about six centimetrestall and 1-2 centimetres thick. It was a dark reddish colour with some white veins poking out. At first I thought it was just a giant blood clot but it was a solid mound of fleshy tissue. I took a photo but I donโt know if I can share it, if I can Iโll try and comment it if this gets approved.
My stomach cramps have all but vanished. Iโve already got a doctorโs appointment booked but itโs not for a few days bc of Christmas.
I was looking up what it might be and I think I could have potentially shed my entire uterine lining in one go? It would explain the intense pain. I would love to hear what people think.
Going in tomorrow for a COVID test and ultrasound before my embryo transfer next week. What are questions I should ask? Things I should discuss? I usually get so anxious for the appt I freeze up, so going in with a list would be so helpful!
Thank you for any advice, ideas for questions, and topics of discussion you can offer me.
Hi! I just had a first cycle for a FET, and took 10 mg of estradiol daily (6 orally, 4 vaginally) for about 7 weeks, but my uterine lining never progressed beyond around 5 mm. During ER I also had a thinner uterine lining, although it got up to 7.7 mm after delivering the trigger. My RE is planning to switch me to the estrogen patch in combination with injections for the next cycle.
I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on lifestyle factors, etc, I might have missed while trying to make sure I was doing everything right to help with the lining development (and I was limiting caffeine, alcohol, all the heavy hitters). If there are additional factors that might have stymied my development, Iโll be sure to avoid them next time! Thanks so much for your suggestions!
Iโm 34 and have always had regular periods with normal flow. The past two to three months have been odd. Extremely light periods only the most recent around thanksgiving only consisted of the brown discharge (like the type towards the end of a cycle) and light uterine lining and is still happening today. My gyno tested my hormone levels and everything is normalโฆI have an appt in January for a intravaginal?? ultrasound to check for fibroidsโฆhas anyone else experienced this or something similar before? Itโs making me nervous
I am 35, on Mirena IUD. My periods have been super weird and sporadic, very light bleeding if at all.
That said, Iโve had 3 or 4 instances while not bleeding where a solid (squishy?) pale colored, nickel sized mass came out when I wiped. It was soft, but I was able to squeeze it with some pressure without it breaking/popping (and it was super gross so that was the end of my experimenting with it).
It definitely came from the vagina, accompanied by not a ton of discharge, but some. My first thought is my uterine lining is shedding and the IUD is preventing the bleeding part of my period. But I donโt know if thatโs really dumb.
What could this be?
I am 100% not pregnant, if thatโs what youโre thinking!
Hi. Iโm a seemingly healthy 33-year-old whoโs had two losses (and no successful pregnancies).
I seem to get pregnant pretty easily, the first time after two months of trying and the second time after three months. The first (in August) was an MMC at 8-9 weeks (before then, the embryo had slow growth/low heart rate and never grew past 6w2). The second (now) was a chemical pregnancy at 4w6. (I suspect another chemical pregnancy earlier this year, but that oneโs not confirmed.)
Iโm wondering if I might have a thin uterine lining, which is making it hard for me to stay pregnant. Reasons I suspect this:
My periods have never been very heavy, but ever since I got off the pill a year ago, theyโve been EXTREMELY light. Iโm talking 1-2 days of very light bleeding or spotting. Probably around 10 ml per period. Even with my miscarriages, Iโve only had light bleeding.
I had an ultrasound for unrelated reasons a few years ago, and at that time my uterine lining was 7 mm (about a week before my period). Though at the time, I had a copper IUD, so Iโm not sure if that couldโve affected my lining?
Does it sound like I could have a thin lining? I have an appointment with a fertility specialist in a few weeks, so I will ask them of course. Is there anything you would recommend asking them about, tests I should push for, etc.?
Iโve been trying to find a video that actually shows whatโs going on inside the uterus when cramps are happening and keep coming up short.
Most videos that try to illustrate the menstrual cycle just show the blood coming out all at once like a running faucet or dam breaking lol.
Considering the process is drawn out over several days and often causes severe discomfort, I just want to see an accurate representation of whatโs going on in there.
I thought maybe I could find a clear ultrasound or accurate 3D animation but none of them are really what Iโm looking for :(
I donโt know how else to describe it. Over the course of a few days, the long, thick stringy lining has come out in pieces, tiny chunks at a time. Itโs reddish brown, but there has been no actual bleeding. Itโs not a decidual cast because that comes out all at once, but this has come out in small pieces over the course of a few days.
Has this happened to any of you? Iโm 11 months recovered from amenorrhea and wonder if itโs related. Up until January, I would have maybe 3 or 4 periods a year, never had more than 3 periods consecutively my entire life. Iโm 27. I got my period every month this year for the first time in my life. December wouldโve been a whole year of consecutive periods had I gotten it this month. But instead the lining shed and I didnโt actually bleed. Is anyone familiar with this, and should I track it on my app as a period since the lining came out? Any help will be appreciated. Please do not tell me to go to a doctor. It isnโt helpful and is honestly a very stressful thing to hear when I wonโt be in a position to go for about another month. Thank you.

I've been on the pill for non-contraceptive reasons for about a year. I skip the white ones so I never get my period. For the last few weeks my body has been shedding a small amount of dark brown mucus which is old blood.
I'm trying to work out whether I should let my body have a period to flush it out, or whether that would just make more uterine lining.
I'm currently experiencing some bloating and small discomfort in lower right abdomen.
FYI- the reason I'm on it is that I have very very heavy periods that last months and have horrendous cramps.
I am 21 and diagnosed with PCOS since 4 years. I always had irregular periods but recently i've been experiencing this strange symptom. I usually get periods in 40-60 days but its been 68 days and I have noticed the uterine lining shedding but without blood since last 3 days. It started with brown spots but now it sheds lining with clear or very pale brownish fluid . It clearly shows symptoms like endometriosis. Is this normal in PCOS?
Iโve been getting mixed messages when understanding whether or not itโs safe to try after a miscarriage. I miscarried almost 3 weeks ago at 6 weeks and started tracking on Mira. I should be ovulating by end of next week due to my hormone levels.
In the case that Iโm able to ovulate and conceive before my next period, is it more or less likely of another miscarriage? Iโve heard from sources that I wouldnโt have enough uterine lining before a period to support implantation, but on the other hand, Iโve heard that Iโd actually be more fertile the next three months.
Should I abstain from trying, and wait for a period to roll through? Or try my luck again?
For extra context: I became pregnant my first cycle of trying. Iโm 32 and relatively healthy but clinically obese.
My uterine lining was quite thin for a few cycles because of being on letrozole 8 times in the last year and a half. My lining in the past has been a healthy 8 mm so I know my body can do it. We are starting our IUI cycle this month and I want to do the best I can to improve my lining for implantation. Anyone else had this problem from letrozole? What helped thicken your lining?
I mean seriously, at almost 30 days of bleeding what is left to expel? At this point it just feels like my lower abdomen has been through a shredder and the clumps falling out are just random pieces of my insides. It's unfathomable to me that such a small organ can have such a prolific lining. Is it spontaneously regenerating itself each night? Because I honestly have no idea how it can produce so many clots for so long
Iโm interested to know if anyone has used viagra suppositories and if it helped increase uterine lining thickness? Interested to know your experience. Iโm dealing with persistently thin lining (5-6mm) and itโs just so frustratingโฆ
hi, forgive me if this question seems a little basic, my periods are incredibly irregular and my last one was >1.5 years ago so i genuinely do not remember what they're supposed to be like.
it's the second day of my period and today and yesterday have both been medium to heavy flows. i noticed that both days im only getting like liquid blood and no uterine lining nor even slightly viscous blood. is this normal? when should i be seeing the uterine lining stuff come out? cause the past few times i've had periods i've def had uterine lining come out the entire time.
it feels and looks more like a nose bleed coming out of my vagina than a period. like the blood is fully liquid. tmi >! but i can literally feel all the drops of blood come out!<
im very paranoid and just want to make sure this is normal/im not dying.
Hiya. I posted the day after my insertion about pain, which has become a lot lot better :) However, today and yesterday, I passed about four small pale chunks of what seemed to be uterine lining. I canโt come up with a good size comparison, but what I saw was pretty typical of what I would see on my period, with less blood. I got my IUD on the third day of my cycle, so I shouldnโt be getting my period for a couple more weeks. I called the gyno and they still havenโt gotten back to me. Was this normal for anyone? My strings feel fine and I am not having any other symptoms.
I just went in this morning for my lining check for my FET tentatively scheduled for June 10 and it was 5.8, they want 7. Iโm going to eat Brazil nuts and raspberry leaf tea. I walk at least 30 minutes a day. Iโm on 3 estrogen patches I change every 3 days. They said they might add estrogen suppositories. Any other tips to help thicken my lining?
Long story short I had a D&C in March and then a hysteroscopy at the beginning of June for retained tissue. At the point of the hysteroscopy I had just ovulated and my lining was thick (14mm) and also inflamed with the retained tissue. My doctor apparently cleared the lining along with the retained tissue (so I guess essentially a second D&C but camera guided) and so I didnโt get a period after the hysteroscopy even though it would have been due.
2 days ago I had an ultrasound to see what was going on and the doctor (a different one) said my lining was very very thin, around 2mm. She actually said it looked like someone in the menopause which obviously freaked me the fuck out (Iโm 31).
I havenโt ovulated since the hysteroscopy so maybe it just hasnโt built back up again??
Does anyone know if 2mm is normal for an empty uterus after a procedure? Iโm terrified my first doctor has been over zealous with clearing out my uterus in the hysteroscopy and has done damage.
Edit to update - I went to a specialist and they diagnosed me with uterine adhesions (Ashermans syndrome) which sucks but i have just had surgery to try and repair it.
I need to boost my uterine lining for my next cycle. Has anyone done the pomegranate juice pineapple core diet and had success? Are there other ways that worked for you?
Like the title says I had a biopsy of my uterine lining a couple of weeks back and have been booked in for another hysteroscopy on Monday for another biopsy as abnormalities were found.
As usual my mind is going crazy and I'm just hoping there may be someone who could possibly tell me perhaps a list of possible abnormalities and that it doesn't always equal cancer.
I donโt think Iโve ever actually caught and observed something like this coming out of me. Itโs like a slab of skin. But itโs not smooth. The whole thing is like congealed bumpy pieces of flesh. I couldnโt break it apart easily. Does that sound normal? I just got a pap 2 weeks ago (normal) and I have been tested for everything. I can send a pic if someone is willing to look for me. Iโm just so shocked by the look of it.
My uterine lining is 11mm, my FET isn't scheduled until 05/10 and I know they look for anything over like 8mm but I'm wondering if it's still too thin so wondering what some of you had when going into FET.
I have a question, how do you tell apart in your period whether it is a part of the uterus lining or a blood clump/cloth falling out.
I've tried to do some research and find some information but even on pictures they look the same to me. Does maybe someone have information what the difference is or how to tell them apart?
So I havenโt had a period since nov 2020. Last week I went to my gynecologist &; they sent me over to a specialist. The results of my vaginal ultrasound showed that my endometrial lining was 3mm &; I indeed have polycystic ovaries . She mentioned my ovaries are enlarged & one of them is like not in itโs proper place.
Within a matter of 2 years Iโve gained around 60lbs
Before I ever started BC , my periods were pretty normal I would have one every month sometimes it would be late a week or so. I got on bc and at some point โskippedโ my periods for months at a time. I got into a toxic relationship and stopped my Bc & didnโt really ever get a period during that time. When I finally left him I lost about 25lbs met someone new and had my period every month around the same day for 5 months &; ended up pregnant- unfortunately it was unexpected & decided to not continue the pregnancy. After that my periods got weird again (pregnancy ended oct 2019) . Eventually fast fwd nov 2020 was my last period.
Pretty much I guess I have Pcos . My dr gave me provera for 10 days ( Iโm on day 2) then told me to start bc on the 3rd day of my period since provera will start my period.
What could have caused my pcos ? How can I lose this weight? Why is my lining so thin ? -she said bc will thicken it up What are your thoughts on Myo inositol & d chiro ? What are the best recommendations &; what are your opinions.
Now that I know what I know about my ovaries and my lining Iโm so depressed that I made the decision to terminate (so many reasons Iโve always regretted) because maybe that was my only chance .
I feel like these are dumb questions, so thanks for your patience.
If someone has a rando long cycle, does the uterine lining get EXTRA thick because it had more time to grow? Like would a 70 day cycle result in a heavier period than a 30 day cycle? Or does every uterus have like a Max thickness that it gets to and then thatโs it?
If someone had a long cycle and very late ovulation and implantation is it possible for a โperiodโ to start and then the egg implants and the body is just like โwhoops! Stop!โ and stops shedding the lining and welcomes the egg? Iโm curious how so many people donโt know they are pregnant and โstill get a periodโ. Some of the posts mentioned late ovulation or short LP so Iโm curious if this is ever whatโs happening?
My wifeโs FET cycle got cancelled again due to thin uterine lining. This is our second attempt at pregnancy we previously tried iUi (2x failed) and then had a successful pregnancy with FET (twins are healthy 2 year olds). However the uterine lining was not an issue back then. The doctor did a second Hysteroscopy today to rule out scarring as a result of a D&C my wife had shortly after giving birth (2-3 months) to remove leftover placenta(yeah Iโm still confused on that one) and he said he cleaned up just a little he said it looked good and it really should have not been the cause of the thin lining.
Her lining stayed at a 6 mm from a week ago. She has been on estradiol patches and 3 estradiol pills by mouth and one vaginally.
She is now going to take progesterone for 10 days to induce her period and then start again on estradiol for a 3rd cycle in a row. She is also taking Lupron
I am just worried estradiol is not helping her lining. :/
I am new to the PCOS journey. Thank you to anyone reading this. I learn so much from this community!
I recently had an ultrasound and they gave me the clinical notes. They mentioned one cyst and listed my uterine thickness as 5 MM. This would be thin for day 40 of my cycle. Most of the things I read online about PCOS mention the opposite problem- the uterine lining is too thick. Is a thin uterus also a result of PCOS hormones being off? Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice or success? Unfortunately, acupuncture is insanely expensive in my area.
Thank you!
