AJPW's anniversary tour this year is bookended by Korakuens. Jake Lee defeated Kento Miyahara for the first time to earn his first singles accolade, the 2019 Oudou tournament. Luck's finally come to the troubled leader of Sweeper. With that accolade under his belt, the theme of this tour is could Lee repeat the miracle and perhaps leave the tour as the new Triple Crown Champion & perhaps All-Asia Tag-Champion simultaneously, or come within an inch to unraveling Kento as Naoya Nomura did just to come undone?

For tonight, he and Koji Iwamoto finally get to face against the somewhat familiar (to each other) team of KAI & TAJIRI. KAI's potent all-rounder style mixed with TAJIRI's mix of strikes, grappling, and cheating makes the team powerful and unpredictable. They wanted stiff opposition - Iwamoto also wanting to challenge himself against his old mentor TAJIRI.

Through the Wrestle-1 partnership, "Team Destruction" gets reunited for the first time since 2013 as Shuji Kondo re-teams with Suwama & Yusuke Okada in Suwama's 15th Anniversary match. The pair will also team against an also-reuniting Minoru Suzuki & Taiyo Kea at November's Destroyer Memorial. On the enemy team, Shuji Ishikawa & Hikaru Sato round out the Evolution participation while Akira Raijin, who was a more experienced peer and partner of Suwama's during the early-mid Pro Wrestling LOVE era, returns sans-SUSHI mask for the first time in many years. UTAMARO (fka Hiroki Murase of Wrestle-1) is the latest low-level indie challenger of Yoshitatsu's GAORA Title run, and seemingly most pushed as someone to look out for. To add some spice, UTAMARO began calling himself the "Real World Famous" wrestler due to his North American bookings to spite the "World Famous" Champion.
