A list of puns related to "Upper Limb"
Hey All,
I put together a Musculature reference sheet of the upper and lower limbs, I've been using it to study Anatomy for an upcoming unit at Uni.
I plan to finish the rest of the body over the coming weeks.
You can press the filter button on excel and isolate different groups based on their primary action, vertebral levels and layers.
If its useful to you that's good :)
So I'm a left wrist disartic. Wondering if any of my fellow upper limbs have figured out any creative ways to help them take care of their nails on their remaining hand.
My wife helps me do it, but it would be nice to take care of them on my own.
Hello! Family member of an amputee here!
Two nights ago my fiancΓ©βs cousin got into a nasty car wreck and ended up having to get an at the elbow amputation on his left arm. He is a 16 year old male and Iβm reaching out to ask for advice on how to be as supportive as possible as he goes though this intense step in his life. He has had a rough childhood and I worry about his mental health a lot, especially now. He is a sweet young man who loves sports, wielding, and trucks. Any advice will help! Thank you so much in advance! ππ»π
UPDATE: He got to go home yesterday! I wish we could be with him but my fiancΓ© and I live halfway across the country so weβve been video calling him every chance we get. I just want to say another huge thank you to everyone who has reached out on this post and offered advice or supportive communication. I talked with him yesterday and let him know that people are out there ready to talk to him and help him through this loss. Heβs not quite ready to reach out but he is so grateful. Thank you all so much, you have been amazing help. π
Hi, need an expert on the upper limb and thorax to be on Discord with me to dictate answers as I share my screen. The resource material is Moore's Anatomy 7th ed. The exam is 12 hours from now -- I will pay.
Ever wonder why robots or cartoons that closely resemble the human form make you feel uncomfortable? Do you think prosthetic hands are cool? Help out my research group collect information regarding the relationship between the human-like appearance of upper extremity prosthetics and the emotional response images evoke. Adults 18+ are welcome to take the survey. Participation is voluntary and thank you in advance.
Iβm having such a hard time learning and remembering what the differences are between:
I know this would be weird but it's my first year and I really don't have much time . how can I memorize it as well?
Yes way back when there were terrestrial animals like giant millipedes that of course have tens of legs, but those animals were also not really in competition with a lot of other terrestrial animals at the time, especially when the land wasnβt really dominated by other animals. And also I donβt mean technicalities like a monkeyβs tail that acts like a fifth limb, more so I mean actual limbs for locomotion. Is it just a coincidence that all of the large terrestrial animals today have no more than four limbs, or does evolution and efficiency filter for no more than that?
source - I dont know if this is a good source but it's being reported in multiple outlets anyway

The FDA has approved a label expansion for Botox to include eight new muscles and the use of ultrasound for the treatment of upper limb spasticity in adults, according to a press release.
Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA, Allergan, an AbbVie company) is designed to treat adult upper limb spasticity, which is commonly caused by stroke, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and traumatic brain injury, according to the release.
With more than 10 years of clinical use and an established safety profile, onabotulinumtoxinA is now expanded for use in the brachialis, brachioradialis, pronator teres, pronator quadratus, lumbricals, interossei, flexor pollicis brevis and opponens pollicis. OnabotulinumtoxinA is also expanded to use ultrasound as a muscle localization technique, according to the release.
βToday's announcement is especially important because spasticity is a disabling neurological condition that can have a significant impact on a patient's quality of life,β Mitchell F. Brin, MD, senior vice president and chief scientific officer of Botox and Neurotoxins at AbbVie, said in the release. βThis label expansion not only adds to our rich history in neurotoxin science, but also reinforces the role of Botox in upper limb spasticity treatment. Botox provides an evidence-based dosing strategy to meet the clinical needs of providers and their patients,β Brin added.
