Sure enough within a minute the man has ridden his horse over to her. He dismounts and gives a happy โHello! Sounds like youโre having some car trouble. Can I help at all?โ The woman replies that sheโs not sure what happened but that she would love some help. They pop the hood and the man says he thinks he can fix the problem but has to run back to his barn to get some tools. The cows have come to see whatโs going on and as the farmer gets ready to leave he says โDonโt worry about your car. Iโll have it running in a few minutes. Just head over there to the shade of the tree by the fence. The cows are all friendly. Bessy there likes to have her ear rubbed, Albert likes to look at people, and Mare will just moo a grand ole tune.โ All of it is true and within 20 minutes the woman is happily sitting in her car with the engine running better than before. โThank you so much, youโre a life saver,โ she says. The man smiles and lets out a big laugh before saying โIโm glad I could help. But Iโm no life saver. Iโm just a jolly rancher.โ
I'm pushing my shopping cart to the cart corral after this loading my car with groceries. This lady is walking to the store and asks "Is that a good one" I says "yeah, I just had her tuned up" and then " it runs pretty smooth". All I got was a smile from her but I couldn't stop laughing on the inside myself.
While walking down the street a man found a hundred dollars on the ground. Ecstatic, he took the money and walked into a nearby store, thinking he would treat himself. Inside, he purchased a large chocolate cake and started walking home. Suddenly, a crazy old man popped out of an alley next to him and ran straight past him! As he went by, he dropped a mechanical eyeball straight into the middle of the cake. Dazed, the man stopped and stared at the eyeball when it suddenly started to belt out a tune!
Well, obviously the best part of this story was the finding of the 100 dollars - everything else is just eye sing on the cake.
One man pulled an old guitar off the wall that hadnโt been tuned in years and gave it to the octopus.
The octopus took the guitar, tuned it right up and began play.
There was no doubt that the octopus was an excellent guitar player.
The man paid his handler $50 and sat down.
Another man brought a saxophone to the octopus.
The octopus took it and stared for a bit.
After a minute or two the octopus began playing a deep and soulful jazz solo.
This man paid his $50 and sat down.
The bartender went into the back and brought out a set of bag pipes.
The bartender said, โIโll bet $100 that the octopus canโt play these bagpipes.โ
The man agreed and handed them to the octopus.
The octopus sat there eyeing the bagpipes up and down for quite awhile.
The handler began to get nervous so he said to the octopus, โHurry up and start playing the thingโ
The octopus spewed, โPlay it?! I wanna marry her!"
She enters a ward full of patients, and notices that theyโre all dressed in street clothes and have no obvious sign of injury or illness. The Queen approaches a patient and greets him. The patient replies:
โMy heartโs in the Highlands, my heart is not here, My heartโs in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer.โ
The Queen is confused, but smiles and moves on to greet the next patient. The patient responds:
โSome hae meat anโ canna eat, And some wad eat thaโ want it, But we hae meat anโ we can eat, so let the Lord be thankit.โ
Even more confused, and smiling even more broadly, the Queen moves on to the next patient who immediately begins to chant:
โMy love is like a red, red rose thatโs newly sprung in June; My love is like the melody thatโs sweetly played in tune.โ
Now very confused, the Queen turns to the accompanying doctor and asks, โIs this a psychiatric ward?โ
โNo, Your Majesty,โ replies the doctor. โThis is the serious Burns unit.โ
It was a colorful tune.
I took it to the mechanic, he said the harmonic balancer was the problem. I said is it sharp or is it flat? Either way, give me a tune up and Iโll be on my way.
I'm on vacation with my girlfriend, and I've been crafting a lot more puns than usual. I wish I'd known about this subreddit sooner because I immediately forget them.
The latest was that we were on the Jubilee line on the London tube, and I asked her what Harry Potter's stop would be.

Hi Folks, If you are a linguist then I am selling your dream car! Iโm selling an Accent, a 2004 Hyundai Accent to be precise. Even if you donโt know a bunch of languages, this car is still great for you.
Just like me, itโs been around the birthday block a few times, but thereโs still lots of life left in both of us, I guarantee! If you are looking for the perfect body, seek out a surgeon. If youโre looking for a car that will love you just the way you are, this is it. Now I know what youโre thinking, โI bet this is a junkerโ, but youโd be wrong. Next to my wife this is the best body Iโve ever had my hands on.
Whatโs wrong with it mechanically you ask? Nothing! It drives great, A/C & heat still work like a dream, breaks work, transmission shifts good, and the 1.6L engine runs great. With its age, the engine has had some parts replaced. All the belts have recently been changed, that happens with age as I just went up a few sizes myself. The washer fluid pump has been changed because itโs important to be able to have a good cry once in a while. I did an oil change in the summer and depending on how long it takes for this car to finds itโs new match, I will do another in the next month or so.
Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Iโll give you a run down of what the interior is like. Itโs whatโs on the inside that matters anyway right? I am the 3rd owner of this car and the previous owner was a smoker. I donโt believe there is a cigarette smell anymore but the cloth seats do have little holes in them. I mean hey, when you play with fire you get burnt right? The stereo head unit has been replaced with a modern Pioneer as the original just wasnโt in tune with my musical needs as a Dj. The only real problem this pretty young thing has is the passenger rear seatbelt does not retract. Since I have two mini controllers I taxi around, Iโve had car seats in the back and have had no reason to replace the seatbelt yet. A new one is only a cool $250 from Hyundai but will take some time for delivery. There are still 4 working seatbelts in the car so if youโre traveling with another couple, Iโm sure theyโll love to cuddle up in the middle and behind you, the driver.
The trunk is spacious enough for the average trunk but just doesnโt work out so well for hauling Dj gear. The rear seats fold as easy a poker player having their bluff called, so it will give you extra room. Not much more that I can think of to tell you about but take a look at the plethora of p

While most of them were pretty bland, there were a bunch of them with some really cheesy puns, and over a few years I built quite a collection.
Today I share with you "NEXIS IS RIDICULOUS.txt":
in the car:
I wistle a random tune,
Dad: Hey! I know that song!
me: You do?
I'm confused because it was just a random tune.
dad: yea, it's the one that sounds like this wistles the same tune
The kids were asleep and I just finished tuning up my wife's bike. "Take it for a spin" I said.
She hops on and says "I haven't ridden my bike since last summer!"
"You'll be fine!" I said. "It's like riding a bike."
I turn to my neighbour who was within ear-shot and he nods with a smirk of approval.
You can't jelly out to your favorite tunes.
Alternative: It's impossible to be jam of how good I look.
As I sat in the office lunchroom today, the topic of Game of Thrones came up, what with it's impending new season this Sunday. As we were discussing it, I mentioned that I couldn't hear a single bit of Swedish in Nickolaj Waldau's voice. My co-worker retorted that he could hear it quite a bit, and that I was perhaps accustomed to the accent, and thus tuning it out.
I replied, without quite thinking, that it was quite a Stark difference. There was silence between the six of us, followed by groans.
"Lexophile" is a word used to describe those that have a love for the use of words, such as "you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish", or "to write with a broken pencil is pointless." A competition to see who can come up with the best lexophiles is held every year in an undisclosed location. This year's winning submission is posted at the very end.

Teacher: so these tuning forms are hit and they make a specific tone, does anyone know what this is called (pointing at on of the prongs of the fork)
Student: isn't it a prong?
Teacher: no, it's actually called a ning, because it's a two-ning fork
I'm visiting my parents from out of town and we all had gone outside to see the super moon and the meteor shower.
My dad waited until I said something along the lines of "oh wow look at the super moon."
That's when it started. He began singing "Super moon, super moon, it's super moonay" to the tune of "super freak." My mom, not to be outdone, joined in.
I'm clearly not having it so after seeing the super moon I go back inside. They follow me inside and I trip over their dog Tink. Annoyed I said, "Stupid Tink" setting off a new chorus of Super Tink.
So my dad got a new ringtone for his phone a few months back. It's the theme from "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." Great movie, great tune.
However.
EVERY time my dad's phone rings now, it is inevitably followed by, "Excuse me, guys. I believe Mr. Eastwood is calling."
My dad loves trivia and brain teasers. He asks me "How many d's in Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer."
I figure people don't count the d at the end of red-nosed. So I say "4" with confidence....
He says, "nope....237." I looked at him, everyone in this sub-reddit know the look.
Then he starts singing " dee dee dee dee dee ..." to the tune of Rudolph.
I laughed and added it to my repertoire.
We have the old-rock radio station playing in our office and I was mockingly humming along to the tunes of one of the songs.
Then my supervisor says, "Oh I know you are not making fun of Def Leppard."
"It's not like they would be able to hear me if I was." I replied.
No one laughed, but the manager walked out of his office to say, "Come on guys, you have to admit that one was good."
Dad: What are the musicians doing? Me: Warming up so they can play their music. Dad: No, it is the ancient Chinese art form of Tu Ning. Get it, Tu Ning, tuning. Me: Facepalm
"If you pick up the trumpet, tuning is one of the first things you learn to do. If you pick up the violin, it's the same deal. If you pick up the piano, you will then need to see a doctor because now you have a hernia."
Some precursor- I'm 27, my girlfriend is 34; we visited my family who lives in another state this past weekend for easter. The last two days I started to write down every horrible attempt at a joke my dad did. So these were just the best of the last two days. Note that this was the first time my girlfriend had met them.
When watching a commercial on liposuction, "I was going to get liposuction but they just melt it out, I wanted them to ZAP it out"
When getting directions, "Should I use my Gsp? (I think it was a joke trying to comment on the similar sound between esp and gps... not sure though)
When a commercial kept repeating "we can", he said (to the tune of ice cream ice cream we all scream for...)"WE CAN! WE CAN! WE ALL SCREAM FOR... ... DEATHcam" (I think he realized he had no joke there so sort of trailed off)
Finally, the worst. When we're pulling up to a state park, he's reading the signs that warn about rattlesnakes and scorpions. He leans in and says, "Hey, I've got a great survival tip" with a serious stern face, "Don't feed the rattlesnakes". Then cracks up with a silly laugh as if it's the funniest joke ever created. He realized that no one was laughing, so he thought if he repeated it a few times, it might get funnier. He continued throwing that joke out every time we got to a sign that had wildlife warnings. Seeing this strategy was failing to illicit any laughs, he decided to go with a new approach. He started saying "Don't feed the scorpions,"
So while preparing for a dinner party Miles Davis "My Funny Valentine" comes on the player. I have been slowly trying to thin out some of the unecessay tunes on our device. I don't really care much for jazz, but the wife likes it.
Me: So I assume you like this song?
Wife: Yeah
Me: I feel like I am at friend who enjoys torturous jazz's house.
Wife: It's not like it's free jazz.
Me: Free or not, it's taxing my ears!
Friend: What's the difference between a bench, a fish, and a bucket of glue?
Me: What?
Friend: You can't tune a bench but you can Tuna fish!
Me: (Confused) What about the glue?
Friend: I thought you'd get stuck on that!
Me: how did it play? Friend: it was out of tune Me: should have used a tuna!
groans all around
