We donโt have a tiebreaker agreement in the bylaws. How do we determine the winner?
With a 19-3 record and 5-1 in the division the Warriors have regained the #1 seed and the tie breaker over the Suns. The Warriors and Suns are 1-1 in the season, but the Warriors hold the tie breaker because they have a better division record while the Suns had a loss against the Kings and the Warriors. The Warriors also have a 2-game advantage in the conference standings.

I posted a version of this 3 years ago, 2 years ago, and last year as well, and since we're at that day again and there's already a few posts on this today, I'm going to do it again. While this advice is most calibrated to the ESPN platform, it should guide you generally.
In understanding/sorting out your league's playoff seeding, remember these rules:
>Teams must have played the same number of head to head games amongst each other
In other words, if you have a tie for a wild card slot involving 3+ teams from multiple divisions, and even if h2h is listed as a tiebreaker in your league, h2h very likely cannot be used for sort out the first tie because these teams have played each other an unequal number of times. The exception would be if and only if they have collectively each played the same number of games within that grouping (i.e., four tied teams, two from each division, each has 4 games against such common opponents. See this example from 2018.)
For example, take three tied teams with two Wild Card slots available:
>Team A (7-6, 1100 points). Lost to Team B, beat Team C.
>
>T
SSG and COL are both tied for 5th place in the Fall Split Points Rankings. To break the tie a single Bo7 match will be played. The winner of this match takes the final North American spot in the RLCS Fall Major LAN. The already qualified NA Teams for the Stockholm Major (Dec 8-12) are: NRG, G2, NV and FaZe. More information about the Major can be viewed on Liquipedia.

I'm writing this during Game 1 between Ghost Gaming and G2 Esports and will edit this if there is any significant development and I'd love to hear other peoples' opinions on this. What is the need for these tiebreaker matches between SR/V1 and GG/G2? Surely we've already had two different tiebreaker possibilities played out in this round robin format.
Game Differential
You have to argue that, in these tiebreakers, SR and G2 have performed better than V1 and GG respectively. This is where Game Differential comes into play. As of writing this, SR went 2-1 with +3 GD. V1 went 2-1 with +2 GD. It's close, but SR were the better team on the day and they should be rewarded for that. Similarly, G2 are 1-2 with -1 GD. GG are 1-2 with -4. It's a glaring difference. That, in and of itself, is a perfectly viable tiebreaker. The better of the two even.
Head-to-head
This is the other possibility. It maybe doesn't reward the consistency so much but you could argue that, for this reason, V1 should finish top of Group B. Beating SR on the day is absolutely worth something. In G2's case, they are 5-0 against GG this season alone, including their win today. It's hard to argue a reason for GG to qualify from Group Stages.
So why have Psyonix opted for these tiebreaker series to even exist when all the necessary information is already on display. It seems to completely defeats the purpose of the round robin format, where the best teams on the day prove that against every opposition in their group.
Not only this but the two of the three Group B teams are forced to play an additional series compared to their Lower Bracket opponents. Five Bo5 in one day can start to take it's toll.
Finally, it's holding up the entire bracket. All the other 2nd and 3rd place teams now have over an hour to wait to play their final series of the day. Something that could also throw teams off. The only benefit to these tiebreaker series is the fan reward hunters.
Don't get me wrong, from a viewer stand point, it's nice to get to see more Rocket League and I'd be happy to have a discussion with anyone who disagrees with me here. It just seems counter-intuitive.
I often find myself in a sudden death countdown where both remaining minis have the same amount of health how are ties determined. Does the mini with the least amount of overall HP win the Tie since they sustained less damage?
What do you think of Maurice Ashley's idea of playing the World Championship tie breaker first? Then after determining who would win the tie breaker, you play the match. The idea is that once tie breakers are known, the loser would be more aggressive and we'd have some more exciting chess.

Elyoya yet again shows how much he knows about the game despite being a rookie, great use of the camera which was possible with a good read on the state of the game, all in a high-pressure game.
Edit: for those who don't understand spanish, the author of the video basically explains how Elyoya's job is to move the camara around and detect the Kennen TP channel as that's the only wincon for LNG.
EDIT: i did find the answer and post as a comment, but people are still answering it.
If the 49ers lose next week vs rams (quite possible), the eagles lose to cowboys (also quite possible) and saints beat falcons (i assume this will happen) the 9ers, eagles and saints will all have 9-8 records. Somehow this leaves the 49ers out of the playoffs. Can someone tell me why the 49ers lose the tie breaker? As I understand the first tie breaker is head to head. 49ers didn't play the saints this year, but the eagles beat the saints and the 49ers beat the eagles. So why doesn't that land the seeds at 6. 49ers, 7. eagles and 8. saints (missing playoffs)?
TL;DR - Even if Baylor, OU, and OK State end up tied and 1-1 against each other, Baylor's win over Iowa State would break the tie before point differential
The Big 12's Tiebreaker Procedures are known to have the potential for chaos, but this year that chaos will not manifest. The reason is simple: we won't reach the point differential step of the tiebreaker.
Here is the would-be magic scenario:
Oklahoma loses to Iowa State, beats Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State Beats Texas Tech
Baylor Wins Out
All three teams are 7-2, which leads to the tiebreaker.
Step 1: Mini Round-Robin. the tied teams' records against eachother are compared. all three teams are 1-1, no team is eliminated.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Point Differential Chaos!!
Unfortunately for team chaos, the problem is the step 2 that comes before step 3: "The Conference records of the three or more teams will be compared against the remaining team(s) in the Conference standings from top to bottom." In other words, we look at the rest of the conference and compare records of the tied teams against the best of the rest, in order. First team up? Iowa State:
Baylor beat Iowa State
Iowa State beat Oklahoma State
(in this scenario) Iowa State beat Oklahoma
Baylor wins the Tiebreaker, gets the #1 spot, and we start over. OU and OSU are tied for #2, we look at the head-to-head which OU won, and OU gets #2.
That said, if the point differential had come up, would those 3 points have mattered? Technically yes, probably no, but a Aranda has more important things to think about than the nitty gritty and it's fair to assume they would. If Baylor had won by 10, that would have allow a situation where, if OU beat OSU by 10, all three teams would have an equal point differential, and we would have drawn lots, which would give Baylor a 1 in 3 chance of not making the championship game. with the field goal, that tie won't happen and (If the point differential came into play) Baylor always makes the championship game. A niche scenario, but technically it would have made a difference.
Edit: cleaning up and clarifying the part about whether the field goal mattered and whether Aranda was right for kicking it. to be clear I think the kick is fine, and assuming the points matter is a safe option for any head coach.
I feel like an idiot because i cant figure that out. If the Eagles and Niners lose this week, they'll both have a 9-7 record.
They met head to head in week 2 and the niners won. Everywhere i've read, head to head record governs a tie breaker first, but somehow the eagles are in no matter what. What am i missing?
EDIT: Thanks for the replies. I didnlt realize it created a 3 way tie with the Saints.
