A list of puns related to "Taika Waititi"
Ok, so I became a Star Wars fan a couple months ago, and have caught up to all canon shows and movies, and am now reading comics and books. Now I’m going through a lot of rumored movies and whatnot, and I see stuff about a Taika Waititi movie slated for like, 2025? Was this ever officially announced? Cause this is news to me.
Secondly, I see speculation about it having to do with the dawn of the Jedi (which I’m pretty sure is the oldest chronological legends material right?), and how this was alluded to in concept art for the movie. Was there ever any official concept art for this? Cuz I’m very intrigued now.
Watched this passively on TV the other night, forgot how good the movie is from when I first watched it many years ago.
The lead character, literally called Boy, is an 11 year old living in " on a small farm with his grandmother, younger brother Rocky, and several cousins. Boy spends his time dreaming of Michael Jackson, hanging out with his friends Dallas and Dynasty, trying to impress Chardonnay, a girl at his school, talking to his pet goat, and making up wild stories about his estranged father, Alamein." shameless copy and paste from Wikipedia
About half way through the movie, Boy talks about something quite mundane and his mum then the movie cuts to a silent scene where we're looking through a doorway into a bedroom, all we can see is >!a younger Boy peering in, a women's limp feet lying on a bed and bedsheets covered in blood while the grandmother rocks back and forth cooing to the new born baby, Rocky. !<Goddamit Taika, I must have wiped it from my memory years ago and I got flashbacks to Jojo Rabbit.
On a lighter note, Boy spends a few minutes talking about how he'd like to be the Hulk. How prophetic is that?
None of these scenes are on YouTube but I highly recommend watching the movie. It's got Kiwi humour which is offbeat of the rest of us but it's subtly explained enough that most people get it. The similarities between Taika and Wes Anderson's comedic styles... love it
Also do watch Taika's What We Do In the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople!
Those who are familiar with Jodorowsky's Dune are already aware that the Dune movie he wanted to make in the 70s ended up as material for his comic The Incal instead. The Incal share some elements with both the novel and his movie adaptation mixed with new ideas.
In that regard The Incal can be seen as an expansion of Dune, even if they exist in two different fictional universes. Which is one of the reasons why I'm looking forward to it.

He visto Thor, Lo Que Hacemos En Los Sombras, Jojo Rabbit, Boy, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, y Eagle vs Shark.
Just had a dream where Taika Waititi made a post here about his Girlfriends mom being very controlling over the cat food his cats ate. Half of the 150 or so comments were him just spewing literal gibberish and the other half was you losers recommending your r-worded cat food recipes. Is something wrong with me?
