A list of puns related to "Surendranath Banerjee"
Sir Surendranath Banerjee (Bengali: ΰ¦Έΰ§ΰ¦°ΰ§ΰ¦¨ΰ§ΰ¦¦ΰ§ΰ¦°ΰ¦¨ΰ¦Ύΰ¦₯ বনΰ§ΰ¦¦ΰ§ΰ¦―ΰ§ΰ¦ͺাধΰ§ΰ¦―ΰ¦Ύΰ¦―ΰ¦Ό) (10 November 1848 β 6 August 1925) was one of the earliest Indian political leaders during the British Raj. He founded the Indian National Association, through which he led two sessions of the Indian National Conference in 1883 and 1885, along with Anandamohan Bose. Banerjee later became a senior leader of the Indian National Congress. Surendranath welcomed MontaguβChelmsford Reforms, unlike congress, and with many liberal leaders he left congress and founded a new organisation named Indian National Liberation Federation in 1919. When the Montagu report of 1918 was made public, there was a divide in the Congress over it. The moderates welcomed it while the extremists opposed it. This led to a schism in the Congress with moderate leaders forming the "National Liberal Federation of India" in 1919. He was also known by the sobriquet Rashtraguru(ΰ¦°ΰ¦Ύΰ¦·ΰ§ΰ¦ΰ§ΰ¦°ΰ¦ΰ§ΰ¦°ΰ§). He was editor of "The Bengali" newspaper.

On 15th August, 1947 India formally became an independent nation with out first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru announcing his Tryst with Destiny forever etched in the history. The end to almost 200 year rules of British Raj was filled with struggles and sacrifices. Today we take a look at some of the most influential movements of our Independence.
The reason we need to remember our history is for the reminder how long we fought for the right to become a sovereign, socialist, secular Republic. The list below is small reminder of people before us who sacrificed everything to give us these rights and how these are being taken from us day by day.
Central Govt recognizes a total of 40 movements and mutinies for Swatantrata Sainik Samman Pension Scheme which was launched in 1972was launched in 1972 on the occasion of silver jubilee of our independence. I'll be using this list to pick few most important/influential ones. We need to realize however there were countless such movements going all over the country with millions of people involved in them. It'd be possible to give justice to all their effort. This is but a small attempt to highlight a few.

A small explainer of the scheme
1857 was a sepoy mutiny where disgruntled soldiers under British East India Company rose against their rule resulting in a widespread but ultimately unsuccessful rebellion. It lasted for over a year. It formally ended both Mughal rule and Company rule and power went to British Crown.
###Foundation of Indian National Congress -1885
The Indian National Congress was established when 72 delegates from all over country met at Bombay in 1885. Prominent delegates included Dadabhai Naoroji, Surendranath Banerjee, Badruddin Tyabji, W. C. Bonnerjee, S. Ramaswami Mudaliar, S.Subramanya Iyer and Romesh Chunder Dutt. A.O. Hume, a former British officer and Civil servant was one of the founding members of the I

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
>Safety Valve Theory : The concept of Safety Valve Theory says that the British had seen the political situation in the country leading to another rebellion on the lines of the Mutiny ofΒ 1857; and they wished to avoid such a situation.
>
> Indian National Congress was founded by a Retired Civil Servant and not by any Indian. It was said that the INC was started by Viceroy Lord Dufferin with the help of an ex Civil Services member as a βSafety Valveβ against the popular discontent.
>
>The following arguments were put forward to the safety valve theory:
>
>A O Hume and other British thought thatΒ the educated Indians may become leaders of the Indian public and organize a rebellion against the government. So if the Government itself provides them a platform to raise their voice, it may be possible to stop such nuisance.
>
>A O Hume was a retired British Civil Servant and he had a series of meetings with Lord Dufferin, the Viceroy.
>
>He also lobbied with some other people such asΒ Sir James Caird, Lord Ripon, John Bright etc.
>
>A large number of British in India such as Sir William Wedderburn, George Yule,Charles Bradlaugh etc. Β supported AO Hume.
>
>This theory has been discarded now. But still, the contribution of British cannot be disregarded in creation of first all India political front in which majority of the people were Hindus. The Muslims took congress negatively in the beginning but there were leaders such as Badruddin Taybji who were active leaders. The contribution of British in foundation of this organization was accepted and verbalized by Gopal Krishna Gokhle in 1913 as follows:
>
>βNo Indian could have started the Indian National Congressβ¦if an Indian had come forward to start such a movement embracing all Indians, the officials in India would not have allowed the movement to come into existence. If the founder of the Congress had not been an Englishman and a distinguished ex-official, such was the distrust of political agitation in those days that the authorities would have at once found some way or the other to suppress the movementβ

Inspired by u/Hrwrx 's posts, I decided to have a look at where all the 295 male Indian Test cricketers were born. There was a nice Scroll article which goes into more details on this, but it lacked what we all like - Maps!
I used data from Wikipedia and cricinfo to compile this list. The maps were created using https://www.mapcustomizer.com/ . I admit that it is not the best tool for the job, but it is handy to create maps like these because, a) it allows unlimited map plots & b) you can plot locations and addresses, you don't need coordinates. (If someone has a better/easier idea to plot these, I can use it too).
So, first, where were all 295 men born?
Birthplaces of all Indian test cricketers - World Map
Robin Singh (Born in Trinidad & Tobago), Ashok Gandotra (Born in Rio, Brazil) & Lall Singh (Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) are to blame for this ultra-zoomed out world map.
So let's ignore them and focus only on the Indian subcontinent:
Birthplaces of Indian Test cricketers - Indian subcontinent map
Salim Durani (Born in Kabul, Afghanistan) just about fits inside this map.
Again apologies for using mapcustomizer - the biggest downside of this online tool is that it does not cluster multiple plots on the same location together. As in, if I have say 44 people born in Mumbai, it only shows as one pointer in the map. The number on the pointer is the Test cap number of the player born there.
So, now let's look at some statistics. As mentioned above, there have been a few players to don Indian colours who have been born outside the country. As expected, a majority of them were born in Pakistan before partition.
Country born in | Number of Players |
---|---|
Pakistan | 10 |
Bangladesh | 2 |
Afghanistan | 1 |
Brazil | 1 |
Malaysia | 1 |
Trinidad & Tobago | 1 |
Other than the above, there have been 2 other players who were technically born on foreign soil. Ebrahim Maka (Born in Daman) & Dilip Sardesai (Born in Margao) were both Portuguese citizens by birth.
