Supersoldiers?

Does your world have supersoldiers?

If so, what are they? What do they look like? How were they made into supersoldiers? Do they have any special abilities?

Here's my example from Twilight Star:

Xanterra is known for their bio-experimentation. As such, they have a serum that can turn a Xanterran into a supersoldier. This serum is often injected into the bloodstream and the resulting transformation is often extremely painful for the recipient as their bones and muscle become more dense and reinforced.

The result is a seven foot tall soldier with enough strength to lift a car with one arm and the ability to tank several rounds of kinetics with barely a scratch.

They then put the supersoldier through rigorous training to dull them to death and other traumas, shove them into power armor (maybe), and deploy them onto the battlefield.

It's usually a voluntary process to pacify those who treat the Wartime Decency Compact (basically galactic Geneva Conventions) like gospel, however it is also performed involuntarily on dishonored soldiers as a punishment. ^(Fun fact: The current Commander of the Xanterran Stellar Force was one of these voluntary soldiers.)

Another "supersoldier" that Xanterra widely uses is the TECARA unit. Basically the Xanterran version of Mega Man, they are six foot tall robots with a left arm that can turn into a THETA pattern arc cannon (lightning bazooka) at will. Although they do come with a sentient AI preinstalled, the XSF has been known to upload the minds of dishonored soldiers (that don't get the serum treatment described above) into them as a further punishment.

As always, constructive criticism is allowed!

Supersoldier throws shield just as well as "normal" human?

Please, if anyone could enlighten me to this issue that kinda breaks immersion for me.

As far as i know, Cap's shield is not magical or anything. Its made of Vibranium and is probably super light and super strong. However it stands to reason that the Cap and any other super soldiers and otherwise "strength enhanced" people would be able to throw that shield a lot harder than a non enhanced guy.

How come that the new Cap (before he was enhanced), and the Falcon (non enhanced as far as i know) is able to throw the shield like they were enhanced?

This irks me a lot, and if anyone has a reasoning, that makes sense to me, as to why this is so i would really like to hear it. That way it would start making sense to me again.

The commander of a human empire so great that he was trusted to lead its most elite army of supersoldiers turns into the Big Good of the story. Is this a good enough prompt for him to do this? Do you have suggestions to add in even more crap? I'm aiming for maximum bullshit!

For context, there's a human empire who secured their reign over the aliens by asserting that they were gods due to how so utterly they defeated the aliens. However according to this empire, not all gods are created equasl, and ssome are more powerful than others, with the most powerful being a Triumvirate known as the Prime Autarchs.

As all the humans know men are not gods nor should they strive to be, but most of humanity didn't know of this paradigm that was set up to favor them. A great Civil War was waged to overthrow the Prime Autarchs, led by the commander of their greatest supersoldiers. After a conflict on an alien world that was just so bullshit that he not only was dissilusioned at the Prime Autarch's regime, but came to genuinely believe it to be the greatest threat to the human race both short term and long term at every level, he overthrew the Autarchs and took their place.

Long story short, here's the crux of what happened:

**1-**Was sent to an alien world to help its inhabitants against a nascent empie on their borders that had started becoming a problem.

**2-**Was ordered to remain in orbit and take pot shots at the ground forces instead of decisively meet them in the infantry combat he and his army excels at and stop their ground forces. He wasn't even allowed to land to provide relief to the inhabitants.

**3-**The reason he was given for staying in orbit was that this was in effect a civil war, he doesn't know that the Empire he was sent to stop isn't native to the planet. And thus is told to suspect the people he's helping of treachery.

**4-**And since he wasn't told that this wasn't the only world this Empire's forces were on, he locked down the planet and qaurantined it, mistakenly beleiving there was no need to check for threats in the neighboring systems. Nor did he destroy the enemy ships that remained on the ground, seeing as they were a neutralized threat with no hope of coming into play.

**5-**When the allied aliens were on the brink of defeat he finally put his boots on the ground, and in so doing the first levels of the bullcrap started being revealed. As it turned out a significant portion of his veteran bridge crew were decieving him to doctor reports and video footage that made it seem that the two factions were the same species. This pissed him off big time, so he held a military tribunal which found all parties guilty, and they were executed, the treacherous elements of his bridge crew were replaced, though he didn

Something weird that Zemo said about supersoldiers

When Zemo is talking to Bucky and Sam about the dangers of supersoldiers, he mentions that the serum corrupts all those who use it. Sam says that it didn't corrupt Steve, to which Zemo replies that there has never been another Steve Rogers.

Now, our of context, I'd agree that Steve's heroism and purity of heart were singular. In context however, Zemo is effectively saying that Steve was the only one to ever not be corrupted by the serum, which is simply a lie.

-Bucky receiving the serum didn't turn him evil, the brainwashing did that. Once he was in control of himself again, he only does good things

-Karli was kind of evil, but she had an iddology she was following. She would have been the way she was whether she had the serum or not.

-Walker, of course, remained a thoroughly good person both before and after he took the serum

What are the supersoldiers of your world?

Supersoldiers are quite common in more militaristic Sci-fi. Methods of creation can vary, same with strengths and weaknesses.

So I ask, what are the supersoldiers of your world and what can they do?

For example, here are mine:

Slayers Slayers are somewhat more mild Supersoldiers, better than your average human, yet worse than the others, they are very dangerous with a single Slayer being able to remove an enemy installation with relative ease.

Roman Group The Roman line of Supersoldiers were the peak of Supersoldiers, made following lessons learnt from the Slayers, they were superior in all regards. The Roman IIs, originally just Romans used very dangerous methods to create them, with a 65% deathrate and 72% cripple rate, out of 300 Romans only 84 Roman IIs emerging as capable soldiers, 22 crippled ones were revived and restored, bringing them up to 106 strong. Roman IIs were utterly lethal even without their equipment. Roman IIIs were developed later, an easier method of producing Supersoldiers, sure they were not as good as Roman IIs, but many more survived. As of present, more generations have been planned, such as a Second Generation of Roman IIs due to the First Generation in their 60s by the 2280s, yet they are still incredibly dangerous, physically in their prime and showing no signs of physical ageing.

[Letter] Supersoldier Levies have saved the day

10th Month, 85 AD

Edwyn Deddings surveyed the fiery carnage that had enveloped Stoney Sept over the past day. After the Stormlanders had made it over the walls, his men had clawed their way to the keep from the gatehouse. Now, half the town lay in ruin. One of the great towers of the Stoney Sept lay toppled over, cobbles spilling onto crushed timber. The Deddings had won the day. The Durradons had been massacred when they lead their assault on the castle. Some stormlanders noble was held in the dungeons of Castle Deddings. And yet, the blood of countless men, including his cousin Harwyn, had temporarily stained the Blackwater Rush into a dull red.

He penned a series of letters to be sent to the Maester, then hopefully across the Riverlands.

[M:] This letter is sent to all Riverlands houses

Lord/Lady of respective castle,

>Thankfully, I write to you in a time of great victory. After a long conflict, we have driven the Stormlanders out of the keep. They still hold the town, but have suffered grevious casualties in their assault.
>
>We have captured one Stormlanders noble, and rumors are already circulating that Erich Durrandon, the king of the Stormlands, has fallen in the fighting.
>
>Stoney Sept will hold for longer than I previously assumed, but we will still need help to fully drive the Stormlanders out of our home.
>
>Sir Edwyn Deddings

[M]: This letter is sent exclusively to Stone Hedge

>King Otho Bracken,
>
>Stoney Sept still holds strong. We have been driven back from the town itself, but inflicted large casualties on the Stormlander host when they assaulted the keep. King Erich Durrandon is also rumored to have been slain in the attack.
>
>Stoney Sept will hold for longer than I previously assumed, but we will still need help to fully drive the Stormlanders out of our home.
>
>Sir Edwyn Deddings

[M]: This letter is sent to the Ring, and House Roxton

>Dear Lord or Lady Roxton,
>
>I would like to personally thank your house for the part they played in the defense of Stoney Sept. Many of your troops from the Reachman host joined us after their attack on the stormlanders, and played an invaluable part in our defense. A member of your house, one Owen Roxton, even took command of our forces when my father and uncle were captured, and lead them back to safety.

>House Deddings still stands today, in large part thanks to the help you and your house
