A list of puns related to "Stasis Dermatitis"
Just diagnosed with Stasis dermatitis/varicose eczema, any advice - I am 71 years young... Should I stop running ??? Any insights are appreciated.
So Iβm making this post to see if anyone can link me to another post or has experience with stasis dermatitis?? Which I believe I have. (Or so I was told)
It might have originated from some my limphedema ?? But weβll get to that later if needed. As for my current situation, it affect the lower part of my right leg. Starting a bit below the calf muscle and goes all the way around. I first started to experience some itching around Sep around my heel area, and well being me, I scratched. The itching started being more common annd I would scratch and the skin area was dry. Take in mind this leg also suffers from the swollen-ness of the lynphedema so when the skin first tore around that area, there was lymphatic fluid that would weep from the area.
As time progressed, it would sort of heal up and then get itchy and I would scratch, and the entire process would start over. I then started covering the affected area with antibiotic daily and gauze. But sometimes I wouldnβt and it would form a dirty layer of skin/dcab so I would scratch it off and wash in the shower. Anyway as time progressed further more areas around the inner ankle started to become affected and then the outer part of the ankle. Mainly because I would use tape and when I would peel off the tape it started to slowly peel the skin in those areas. Fast forward a few months up into February, I finally go see a doctor. By this point is using a full gauze wrap to wrap the entire circumference of the ankle as the entire area is affected. Not all the area is affected the same but still some form of dry skin that cracks and then oozes fluid. Went to the doc and he said this is venous stasis which causes the stasis dermatitis. But that I would need to speak to my primary doctor. Havenβt been able to go back since that was literally the week we all got put into quarantine. Since then I wouldnβt say the situation has gotten better, if anything stayed the same of gotten a bit worse. I change the gauze daily and try to wash it. When I get in the shower I let it soak for a bit, and then when I scrap it , I get a whole bunch of the dead skin on the top layer revealing fresh/raw skin underneath. I was told to see a vein specialist and others said itβs a dermatological problem. So what do I do?! Does anyone have experience with this?!
I'm 5"8 260lbs
During the long lockdown I gained 40lbs(have since lost 35) and developed Stasis Dermatitis from lack of activity. Since returning to work, the Stasis Dermatitis has subsided but I was left with brown patches on the insides of both inner legs by the ankles. Yesterday I finally had an appointment with a dermatologist and was diagnosed with pitting edema.
My legs hurt when pressure is applied to the area and with firm pressure I have pits that immediately subside after release. I am going to talk to my primary about kidney blood work and an echo on my heart, but in the meantime should I look into switching from 10mg of amlodipine to another class of BP meds as I've read amlodipine can actually cause leg swelling and may plausibly make it more difficult to get the swelling down. Any help would be greatly appreciated in this regard. Thank you, kindly.
here is a picture. My grandfather is 77, 5β10β, and approximately 215 pounds. He has a very healthy diet and religiously follows the βBlue Zoneβ regimen/lifestyle for his meals. He has Parkinsonβs and high blood pressure, which heβs on medication for though Iβm unsure of what itβs called. He also has had venous closures on some of the bad veins in his legs.
His legs (and now itβs spreading to his arms) are getting worse. Theyβre itching and bleeding constantly. He canβt wear long pants or closed toe shoes. His toenails are completely ruined by the lymphedema. His stomach is extremely large and round, and he can hear the fluid sloshing as he walks.
From what I understand, lymphedema isnβt curable, but his doctor isnβt giving him much advice regarding treatment at all. Itβs so hard to watch this sweet manβs health deteriorate given the Parkinsonβs and now this. Can anything at all be done to make his daily life more bearable? Thank you for your time.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.

The doctor says it terminal.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat

We told her she can lean on us for support. Although, we are going to have to change her driver's license, her height is going down by a foot. I don't want to go too far out on a limb here but it better not be a hack job.
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
But let me give it a shot.

Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
Im just a medical student who recently did a rotation at the ED and saw quite a few patients with this exact clinical picture.
Some other info:
- The pain bothers them the most.
- Most of them were treated presumably as bilateral cellulitis with a 1 week course of antibiotics but none of them responded. Some reported some slight improvement, but the pain never goes away. By the time they came back to the ED again, they would have had this problem for at least 3-4 weeks, some up to a couple of months.
- Some were diagnosed as asteatotic eczema just based on the fact that they had dry skin. Im not sure about how these patients fared subsequently.
- One was suspected for bilateral DVT despite having a wells score of 0.
I did some googling and found that the most common "bilateral cellulitis" is actually stasis dermatitis due to chronic venous insufficiency. Most of these patients did have some mild varicosities, but otherwise i do not see things like atrophie blanche, hemosiderin deposition etc. Certainly no obvious signs like venous ulcers.
However, i am still not too sure how i should approach these patients. I feel so bad because their pain really bothers them so much that they are willing to wait up to 1 whole day for a bed to be admitted, but i have completely no clue what they may be having and it is terrible to see them go untreated for so long.
Would appreciate if someone could offer guidance. Thank you!

Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
